Wonderful soloist. I've never played any of the Spohr clarinet concertos, but looking at the score, it's more difficult than it sounds. One can imagine the staggering technique required to play this on a clarinet from the 1800s! Thank you for uploading this and sharing!
Terrible dynamics. Very amateur indeed! Nobody knows what p or pp means! Nobody cares. The public are ignorant abd uneducated so who cares? Not the musicians!
@SisselOnline Look at the score and follow it. No dynamics were followed no < no > no pp feeble p. It's a ridiculous sloppy performance with obviously no rehearsals and no serious direction. If you want to hear REAL pp abd dynamics, listen to the old Cleveland Orchestra recordings with Szell directing. Professional musicians do not have the courage to play pp or ppp or p. P means quiet. pp means very quiet. pp means a whisper. Can you hear 100 musicians playing together sounding quiet as a whisper? That's an extremely rare event. Lucky for the players etc that this UA-cam offering avoids identifying anyone.
It's not abt YT; it's about the publisher of the recordings. Also, can't find the old recording lol (other than that, you are right about pp volume issue...)

No adagio é clara a reminiscência ao Adagio do concerto para clarinete de Mozart. Como isso é bom de escutar.

I think Maria and the orchestra nailed this performance. Tony Pay's used to be my favourite recording of Spohr 3. Maria's is my fave now.
