Just picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago for retail ($49). Really a nice pour. Taste a little younger than Rare Breed but a nice alternative to it. Would also hold up well in a cocktail if you wanted a higher proof mixer without breaking the bank.
I got a single barrel Full proof BevMo Select. Let’s say I tried it and went back next day bought 2nd bottle. 🎉
The single barrels are some of the best picks being released right now IMO. We are heading down to Green River in August to pick one for our Patreon and I couldn’t be more excited!
Had a couple picks of this myself, one also a BevMo one and yeah they’re phenomenal. I definitely backed it up! 🙌🏻

Great review! So educational for me. I have just opened this and see much of what you talk about. I have a single barrel from them and really find it has a deeper profile with a wonderful mouthfeel.
You and the Bourbon Junkies are 2 different channels. You are more of a informative type and they are more entertainment. I like both formats. So I'm glad you picked this up to give us more info on it.

@@DrumsAndDrams she's the Fraizer to your Ali. The Steven A, to your Skip Bayless. I love this as an everyday bottle, flavor profile falls some where between Four Roses OESO and EHT SiB for me. Obviously a bit younger.

Got a bottle a couple months ago and it's great. It definitely is different, but certainly worth the purchase in the the $50 range.
$54.95 + tax here in N.C. Haven't opened yet, really expecting it to be a great pour. See how it lands with similar + 50 $ bottles from other distilleries.

Hot take. Green River/Bardstown has become more in my wheelhouse than Saz juice.
I could totally see that. I’m excited to see what GR and BBCo tastes like at 10+ years old!
Unfortunately it was way too hot for me. And even with a lot of ice it just burnt my tongue and the only way I can see it in my collection is to add it to some of my “ too low proof “ to appreciate.
Unfortunately, I agree with you. A subscriber gave me a sample and I thought it was ok. It was hot for the proof point and that heat overshadowed the flavors for me. Maybe if have a ton of bottles already, then I would purchase it. It is nothing that I would choose as a pour, but I wouldn't refuse it if someone offered me a pour of it.

I get a slight plastic note from all of their stuff but especially this one. It’s hard for me to get past. I think it’s where the tropical notes and the grapefruit ones come together.

Nah Rare Breed is a bit rough around the edges. Still good and great value but far from perfect.
It’s good, but overly bright to be - prefer dark and thick.
I liked the new full proof GR way better than a single barrel bottle that I found.
That’s interesting! I will say the picks I’ve had from GR have ranged quite a bit, but I’d still prefer them over the FP shelfer. Either way, both are ridiculously good values!
