  • Ever wondered what it's like taking on a 500km race through Europe's last wilderness?
This documentary by Silverbullet Film delves into the first ever Montane Lapland Arctic Ultra, a race that sees runners, skiers and fatbikers take on a route of 185km or 500km through the heart of Lapland in temperatures as low as -30 degrees celsius. Every ultra race promotes itself as the "world's toughest"

Why don't they use skis instead of walking ? Its ridiculous, it's much faster and easier to use mountain skis. I know this.

      Hi Lars,
if skis are faster than hiking, depends on a few factors, e.g. your skills, equipment, terrain, temperature, etc. Yes, a very good skier who is used to these conditions will likely be fast. BUT athletes on foot can be fast, too. So, it's not really "ridiculous" ;-) It's just different. Hopefully, we will see a lot of strong skiers in future years. I would love to see this discipline become more popular in the MLAU.
      Best regards,
      Robert
