Awesome the way you cut your clips!
Joe Rogan made the sport he didn't make the town but he made the sport. If it wasn't for Joe Rogan and his commentating and telling you what was going on you wouldn't have a clue. Joe Rogan is the only reason why the best sport turned into a sport not just a blood path and they understanding of how you can do things and maybe talk the Next Generation what you're looking for and how to do it I really wasn't into it I thought it was just bad boxing it changed my mind. Thank you Joe Rogan from the handy crippled guy very handy. And as for his podcast he doesn't really get involved until he gets passionate about it and especially about the left stupid ideas not like the old Democrat that was for the people now it's changed it's the Republican that is the old Democrat look at Trump he switched look at Ronald Reagan he switched because of the people tried to cut him off of speaking at one time and he said I paid for this microphone you can't shut me down he was ready to go punch the guy in the face.!
I appreciate Dana giving Joe that well deserved credit.
I appreciate that
Great news I'm glad you appreciate that
He's past it though, 100 million bucks can do something to a mans appetite.
@@Denzelllllllll5478 Thanks, I appreciate it
They are best buddies but yeah its well deserved credit.
If it weren't for Joe, I'm positive that the UFC wouldn't have nearly the same reach
While Rogan wasn't the first person to start a podcast, he did pioneer the format in many ways, encouraging many people from intellectuals to fighters to start their own. Really driving forward the podcast era and fundamentally changing how people obtain media. Joe has been integral to selling UFC to new audiences both through educating the masses on fighting and through entertainment in his commentary. He worked at the UFC for free in the early days. That's two different highly successful new industries which Joe can take some considerable credit for. Plus he has not only had lots of personal success in stand up comedy, he has created so much opportunity for his comedian friends and peers.
Any praise is well-deserved
Joe is not educating anyone about anything, much less fighting, he said that Ronda can beat 50 per cent of male bantamweight division, he is also a drug addict and a conspiracy theory paddler
@@jacktenrec63 He's a fan of the sport like most of us lol.
@@jacktenrec63 "conspiracy theorist" what a lame ass term to use in this day and age. You dont think people in power conspire against other people?
@@Barbro247 I do, what does that have to do with dumb ass Rogan letting momos like Bravo and Jones spew their garbage?
@@Barbro247 "conspiracy theorist" is one of those terms not to be taken literally. Languages abound in such terms. It doesn't mean "someone who claims a conspiracy". Rather, it is a pejorative term meaning "someone who claims a conspiracy with little or no evidence".
This is actually a great point. Joe's walking through the grappling was crucial in the beginning.
Hell ya! People today just wouldn't understand how it was to have Joe come along and start giving us names to go with the techniques.
Joe Rogan brings a perspective to MMA that people wouldn’t know and makes it interesting - I’ve listened to so many fighters in his podcast and became an instant fan of those fighter just to hear their stories and insight into the sport - a lot of those beasts you see tearing apart their opponent are actually intelligent and soft spoken and interesting just like many other athletes in other popular main stream sports.
It’s awesome having such a big figure in boxing show so much appreciation to the sport of MMA. Teddys the man!
well, what's not awesome is the fact that there's somebody like you that needs something like that!
Teddy is .the atlas of boxing ..he knows the landscape and geography better then most throughout the 🌎...
@@dickiemolitsanti2213 you at life ?women?a job?this president?your father?? I will give. U an C for trying and. But the only fail my friend is your ...nevermind...take your keyboard...WARRIOR then type definition of FAIL...and you will see DICKIE MOLITSHITSPANTS

@@jtaco4101 i know..just ..ahh. Ur rite
Joe is a walking fight encyclopedia. Not on paper but in person. Imagine how many fights he has witnessed fist hand. From the beginning days all the way until now. Joe is a fight savant, and as a true pioneer and fan of the sport sometimes you follow certain fighters and get excited to call their fights. No more. No less.
I started watching mma because JRE 7 or 8 years back, now I can name every ufc title fight in history. By weight class, champion, and defense. I feel like a lot of people are in my boat.
We're firemen! The heat doesn't bother us!
It’s beautiful the way Rogan can condense such a plethora and magnitude of physical technique into the two words ‘he’s hurt!!!’
It’s the simplicity of it for me 🤩
Joe was right all along, MMA swallowed boxing, but it wasnt bad blood, it was evolution, we as a community welcomed Teddy and anyone else from that side that saw this sport for what it really was (not human cock fighting)
If it swallowed boxing why do boxers still get payed more?? Why do ufc fighters try to get fights with boxers? Ufc is full of ankle shaggers and failed boxers get over it
@@alanl728 because fighting is still a sport where as boxing is just entertainment
@@shinobi-no-bueno 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 so how did WWE champion brock Lesnar join ufc and become heavyweight champion??? It’s a bum sport that’s why it’s not fighting it’s a terrible form of fighting where as boxing is a actual sport that’s why it’s in the olympics mate have a good day hope this helps you
@@alanl728 Because Brock Lesnar had actual Collegiate wrestling experience you doofus. Did you also hype up Olympic boxing even though it means nothing in the pros? Is that why most of your boxing legends wouldn't be able to beat C level MMA fighters?🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@GoofyCombat mate one of your hero’s Darren till gets knocked out in town most weekends because he thinks he’s 10 men so what do you think a boxer would do to him he probably wouldn’t wake up
Joe Rogan at the time was a bigger star then the ufc from his fear factor days when it first started and brought fans as well.
Literally brought all his boys to the fights
Joe has been with the UFC since 1997, Fear Factor didn't start until 2001 but I get you
I started watching joe rogan's podcast a couple years ago and the only reason I got into the ufc was because of him and the passion he showed for mma
Joe also has his 200 million listeners which I’m sure he’s turned many of them to the ufc
Wow, as a Chess Player i'm impressed Teddy remembered 1972 World Chess Championship between Bobby Fischer and Boris Spassky
This is so true, the very first time I watched a UFC event I couldn't tell what the fuck was going on when the fight hit the mat and Rogan was out there walking the viewers through the process. I legitimately remember thinking how passionate and educated on the subject matter the commentator was how this was probably the best commentary I've heard, it wasn't just backdrop it was just straight up teaching me about the sport.
Listening to Joe passionately talking about the UFC during his podcast is awesome. I love the fact that Joe commentated a number of the early UFC events for free. That early support really paid dividends for both Dana and Joe.
One more thing about floor chess is the way it drains you cardio and muscle fetigue. It is unimaginable if you have never been in that situation before. It goes so fast if you panic and try relying on strength or yanking.
Mike Goldberg also doesn't get enough credit. I know he wasn't always the most knowledgeable about the technical aspects of fighting but the way he'd intensely but clearly narrate what was happening was phenomenal and really got you hyped. He has some of the all time greatest calls in UFC history, I also enjoyed his chemistry with Joe and how they complimented each other's styles.
Why didnt the UFC keep him? I thought he was great as well.
The ufc definitely should’ve paid Goldberg his worth and kept him. The chemistry between him and Joe was unmatched. I miss him
Haha I loved Goldberg but how often Rogan have to correct him during a broadcast?
"Left hook to the body!"
"That was a jab to the face mike.."
@@danelynch7171 that's why we loved him 😂 He didn't know what he was seeing but his pure excitement was contagious.
I like it when the grapplers are the biggest stars in the UFC as it forces casuals to appreciate and understand grappling.
Nice to see Dana is giving Joe props and respect for doing such a great job and being loyal to each other.
Glad to see such a respectable boxing analyst give some respect to jiujitsu!
I have always said that the most important entertainer for a sport isn't any one player but rather its the on air personality who either entertains - or doesn't entertain - the masses consuming it on television/internet/radio media.
Wow I did not expect a guy with that accent in a conversation about UFC make a reference to Fischer vs Spassky :P
A podcast made in heaven! The great Teddy Atlas exchanging wisdom with the equally great Dana White. What I loved most is the obvious respect that Dana has for Teddy. That is a most difficult respect to get. Dana ain’t no bullshit.
Men who change the world MUST be both loved and hated. Dana, because he commands his organization, makes those tough, unpopular decisions because his interests are in the whole and not just the parts. He likes Teddy because of the honesty in this genius of the great pugilistic art.
I would love to see Dana and Teddy team up to save boxing. Give Dana control, and have Teddy be the face. Of course, we would need others who are more dynamic in promoting the fights than Teddy (which is no knock on him…we would not like Teddy any other way…as soon as he is on the scene the first and only thing that comes to mind is boxing. You can’t wait to hear what he has to say. That is an incredible asset that boxing has never utilized effectively. Dana would know how to use it. Teddy would become a household name under Dana’s guidance; analogous to Joe Rogan.
Boxing needs Dana White. He would put an end to this shit going on with the Paul’s and fights with boxers and MMA. A prerequisite is that one of the fighters is a boxer past his prime, or, a You Tuber fighting an MMA fighter past his own prime. It is always a boxing match which tells you right away that boxers are a long way from fighting in the cage, but MMA (and UFC) fighters can get in the ring based on their formal training.
Such absolute bullshit. Please make it stop, Dana and Teddy!
Think teddy should have control, and let dana be the face.but we all know the money talks first.
I always liked mma but really got into ufc from Joe’s podcast. Those fight companion days were good
Joe and Bruce are great at what they do in the UFC they will never be duplicated
WHAT IS THIS OUTRO SONG I LOVE IT TEDDY
Thanks for the great interview. Just a technical issue from a person who watches - the pleasure of watching is significantly better when one sees both person engaging in a conversation. Their body language and interaction instead od of "one talking head" :)
Love that he gave joe credit I think joe is a big reason people like watching no one could announce like him he sees things coming before they do it and announces it I love it
Joe Rogan is the John Madden of UFC commentary.
Nice to see the great Teddy Atlas throwing some love to jiu jitsu.
I wonder how Dana met Joe... What great timing anyway - meeting a stand-up comedian who was good on the mic and also knew Jiu-Jitsu! Legends.
Met at the UFC events. Rogan would go as a fan in the early days of the Zuffa era and could talk to people because he was famous from Fear Factor and Dana offered him the job eventually
Joe's been doing something for dana lately, he's praised him twice in a couple weeks after hardly ever mentioning him for 15 years 🤔🤔
Dana hates the new lefty era of wokeness, cancel culture, pushing for socialism, hates the media in general but the MMA media/journalists specifically etc, after noticing the treatment trump got, I think he's noticed as well the increased media attacks on Joe from mainstream media and the MMA media and is trying to put his foot down a little
Y is it a crime to say that Teddy Atlas is the voice of mma… but its ok for ariel helwani and brett okomoto to be an analyst? Atleast he has been involved in a combat sport for almost 50 years
Teddy is a boxing expert. Idk about you but I wouldn't call someone "the voice of cooking" if they're amazing at eggs but don't know how to pour milk
@@shinobi-no-bueno ok let ariel helwani be the voice of mma. He is more qualified. Im buggin
respect to Dana on this one. Joe brought a whole new flavor in the game!
When Teddy said "used their legs like a python..." he sounded like he was channelling Christopher Walken.
I read the "used their legs like a python" comment in walkens voice😂😂
Awesome to see Dana showing Joe the respect and credit he deserves. Love when people get what the deserve!!! He makes $50,000 event he commentated and that’s pretty good for 1 nights work but thought it would be more honestly. Just a great dude and couldn’t have found a better guy to help them promote from the get go!
I became a fan of Joe Rogan originally because I enjoyed the way he color commentated on UFC fights. Then I found out he did stand up comedy and watched his special flying monkeys in space when it premiered on Spike and then I became a fan of him for his comedy. Now his podcast is what keeps me up with the UFC, it's a positive feedback loop.
I got into watching MMA was because of Joe Rogan, I found Joe Rogan by searching for scientists interviews after some time without even realizing I was looking into Gracie's family history and watching Olympic wrestling games 🤣
I think even Joe would hand those compliments straight to Eddie Bravo who was Joes in ear tech and guide
I heard of the ufc through Joe Rogans podcast years ago. Now im an amateur mma fighter and die hard fan. Joe is definitely the reason I fell in love with the sport
TRAIN BY DAY. JOE ROGAN PODCAST BY NIGHT! ALL. DAY!
Joe Rogan’s influence is unbelievable. The world is now full of people doing Joe Rogan podcasts.
Thank you teddy for learning to appreciate the best combat sport
Finally! been waiting forever to hear Dana give Joe credit. When I first started watching, nobody knew what the hell was going on until Joe started breaking it down and giving names to all these techniques.
As a fan from the very first UFC1, when Joe got involved it was a completely different experience. He was able to recognize and explain everything happening in great detail.. but not only that, he gave you all the back stories on the fighters and educated the viewer every step of the way.. Its the only sport that watching it live is a downgrade because you don't get to hear Rogan's commentary and enthusiasm. There should be an app that allows you to get the broadcast on your headphones while watching the fight live. Its not the same without Rogan.
In a way Teddy Atlas is helping the sport of MMA AND boxing by getting into the sport of MMA and then educating boxing fans on it and MMA fans on boxing. There's no reason that people can't be a fan of both the sport of MMA and boxing. Boxing is a massively important part of MMA and there is no reason why a fighter who has dominant boxing skills can't be a dominant MMA fighter as well...so long as they can stave off the other threats or has other MMA skills to defend himself from other attacks of different martial arts.
Teddy said that so well lol. Read my mind. At first I felt the same, ground game seemed boring then you listen and jeez its a thing of beauty, like chess! High level and so beautiful to watch lol.
Rogan has always been promoting the sport of MMA. His podcast brought a lot of eyes to the sport and the UFC in particular.
Yee hats of to Joe. He really made evrything intresting when he gave details what was going on. And his passion was oozing from the screen. Also a shoutout to Mike Goldberg not for his expertis in MMA but the comic releaf and enterainment he brought. For me that duo when i was watching the UFC growing up was the best in any sport. I dont know how long Joe will keep being a commentator for the UFC he is only doing it for the passion of the sport. But he will always be a Pillar Stone of bulding MMA.
Hell yeah Teddy's a raider's fan go nation !!!
He’s rocked!!!
If you watch the early stuff, it was hilarious how little anybody knew about anything. I think it was Royce vs Kimo, and Royce was strangling him unmercifully... While Big John just stood there bent over with his face right in the action watching. And Kimo is pounding the mat, tapping and tapping and tapping, and Big John just stood there staring. Then you see McCarthy go "Oh shit, that means he quits doesn't it? STOP!"... When Art Jimmerson fought with that one boxing glove, and he was immediately taken down, he was confused that the ref didn't stand them up. He didn't defend himself at first, because he didn't know you fight on the ground too.
I love this
I would have never watched ufc if not for Joe, I watched his podcast for a long time then got curious about the ufc from him talking about it and only then added it to my wheelhouse
Joe did so much in the beginning and even today does with his podcast.
I closed my eyes and pretended it was arnold out there.. haha. The bridge is oouuutt
Really appreciate that Dana brought up Joe on his own and not prompted
Love the Bobby Fischer reference
I like listening to Joe.... you can hear the passion.
Joe Rogan is the UFC ! Kudos to Dana for acknowledging his commentating wisdom and let's not forget Dana & Joe are the face of the UFC !
No lie, Joe is one of the reason I got into MMA.
Another thing he did especially back then was he wasn't afraid to hype fighters from other promotions (especially when pride was around) even on a ufc broadcast.he probably isn't allowed to do that now that they're on espn though
People wouldn't know about the best mma faceoff if there wasn't for Rogan
It wasn’t until I started practicing BJJ that I could fully appreciate the ground game. To the uninitiated it can look unskillful but that couldn’t be further from the truth.
Facts you realize that it’s not just trying to over power the other guy it’s more like fighting for a position and leverage, when my buddy who used to know more about BJJ than me would always take my back and I didn’t know how to stop him until I learned how to transition into different positions, it’s like a whole nother dimension you see shit that wasn’t there before, you see opening for submissions you never woulda saw before, grappling in mma has become on par with striking as my favourite part I get so excited when it hits the ground cause I know it could end at any moment
I agree 🇺🇸
💯💪
Give that man a raise!
Next we get teddy on JRE and Hotboxin
Dana not giving Eddie bravo his credit everything Joe was saying Eddie was telling him
I'd like to see Teddy Atlas on Joe Rogan's podcast.
100%
This is the same reason Madden gets so much credit from football fans. He offended a passion, and understanding of the sport to the commentary.
🐐
That's so awesome dana give joe that shout out.
I actually seen first time Mel Gibson use a triangle choke in lethal weapon. 😳
We're gonna get Joe Rogan a color commentary award to go with that 100 mill
Where would we be without Joe's commentaries.
Well we'd be down a few thousand "Ooooooooooooooooooooooohs" every ufc event !
Acknowledged Joe Rogan unprompted, very nice.
Dana’s the man, Rogans the man🥳
Joe Rogan deserves the credit he’s one of the reasons I became a regular fan of the sport.
Dana is the man
Dana is the sort of guy who supports and pedestalises you if he likes you and absolutely shits on you if he doesn't.
“Yuuse their legs like a PY-TONN”
Love Teddy
Remember how Joe defended UFC against that crazy Boxing guy, i think it's on ESPN even he used his platform to promote fights and a lot of people around the world knew about UFC because of JRE. He made it look cool and how he breaks down each fights objectively is crazy!
It was actually on Canadian sports tv lol,the host of that show Micheal Landsberg used to be pretty famous in Canada
@@Ksh7571 Was it? it was a old clip but man he destroyed that guy. haha
I definitely commend Dana for the ShoutouT there to Joe! Cause it is true, 1 thing bout Dana son he is a good guy especially with the credit he gives! I don't ever see Dana White saying nothing bad bout nobody! Hardly if so!
He's not a fan of Oscar Dela Hoya.... Or Woodley. Or Arial.😂
Rogan deserves an honorary degree in communications.
UFC without Joe Rogan
! Don’t know what to say ‘
The Gracie’s are the true pioneers of the UFC no question about it, but I think there’s a reason we didn’t see a Wrestler introduced until UFC 4. Sumo doesn’t count lol
Ken Shamrock aint a wrestler ? He was at UFC 1 and got submitted. Skilled shootfighter and tough as fuck but the world just wasnt prepared for BJJ
When joe Rogan first started commentating the ufc his payments was a free ticket and free tickets for a some of his friends
I was a fan till the DC interview after the Jones fight.
Wow, he knew spassky.
Rogan can be funny but some of his takes just show he doesn't watch most cards anymore.
Joe Rogan a Great American and a beacon of hope and truth
Quick shoutout to mike Goldberg as well
dana needs to be on Joe rogan podcast, 100 million views
Joe Rogan is one of the reasons I got into BJJ.
Has Joe Rogan had Dana on the podcast yet? I looked but I don’t think so
