The music was awesome. It kept me riveted. Nice work. I would have left the wheels alone and did a clear coat, but that is just my personal preference. I really like what you did to the front grill. I like that you are a perfectionist, and that you and your family worked together as a team. We need more families like that.
Idk what people are talking about the music fit perfect with the video...Also love the color of choice, it's hard to believe it's just plasti dip lol LOOKS GREAT MAN!
Nice little fun project. Looks like the family chipped in and had fun with it also. Good stuff. I've always wanted to do this with my Tundra and never got around to it.
Well done! Ignore all the people that don't have constructive comments. If they have suggestions to make it better, fine but to say it's a stupid color or a dumb car? Can't stop the trolls so keep up the good work and trying new things.
Late to the comments, but Great job! I'm surprised how even the coat came out after it was done Nice way to change it up when you get bored of the color. Any chance of an update on how well its held up? Thanks for sharing
Yea you are kind of missing the part of the video where you unfuck that tape work on the tail lights even with the forgiven nature of plasti dip that much exposed surface would have been really nicely taken care of with more attention to the job at hand and not the cat
Denver / thornton area here how much would you charge if I bought the dip? I have a 2018 Lexus nx 300 F sport smaller then your edge. Really curious about all this. Any other way to chat with you about it?
@@kevana7063 Okay cool thanks for the reply. I'm looking into doing a plati dip job in March from an authorized shop, They quoted me a good price for Pro Line, Autoflex is out of my price range.. I was just curious to see exactly what Satin ProLine looks like
The most expensive part of a paint job is usually the prep work and labor. Is this significantly cheaper than a traditional one-step paint job that runs in the $500 range?
Yes, even tho the prep job for a proper plasti dip job still takes some time this set up here with this size of vehicle can cost about $800 with labor in my area. Significantly cheaper than a traditional paint job.
@@kevana7063 Oh, I guess the prevalence of illegal-aliens in my area has affected paint job prices, as you can get a paint job for that price here going to any of the Mexican shops. I have an older sunbleached vehicle and was considering options. Thanks.
DumbDuck44 yeah definitely gonna get what you pay for. Pay for a 800 paint job and get it for a year before it starts chipping. Get a plasti dip job and it will last for at least 5 years without having to retouch.
It actually protects the paint. That is the reason why I plasti dip any new car I get. Protects the original paint from attaches, weather and sun damage
I didn't see you rough up the original paint on it. Did I just miss it, or do we get to see you pick it off when it starts peeling? I'm with the others...siince you blacked out the wheels, should have done the chrome the same way. Don't like the dull paint, but it's your car.😁
I think it looks good, and while I do like a blacked out grille, the chrome looks good too, especially the way you framed it in there. Fuck the haters, if you don’t like his color choice then don’t use it on your vehicle.
Matte* @jimo I believe you meant Matte finish. It’s a thing look it up lol I love the matte aggressive finish of matte in real life. I must admit in pictures it doesn’t do it justice. But out in a parking lot it stands out and it’s pleasing to the eye. You can keep your shiny wax look
@Jimo it's a solution for people who cannot spend thousands of dollars , or people who want to keep the original paint without damaging it , lets say you wrap a car with vinyl.. well then you run the risk of damaging the paint very badly. Plasti-dip actually holds up very very well, and newer products of plastidip/autoflex have glossy finishes and have self repair polymers that actually repair itself from scratches. But the good thing about dipping your car is that when it does it all worn out(which is many many months down the road) you can just peel it and try a new color. They also have specific cleaners for plastidip that rehydrate and revitalize the dip so it will last longer. Alot of the matte finishes look amazing too, you just need to see them in person! Especially when Pearls, jucies, and colors are mixed together! Let's say your shiny paint job gets all scratched and you dont know how to buff your own car.. well then you're paying a pretty penny to get a good detail done, but if your plastidip gets worn you just peel and respray for the low.
Your work was well done, BUT!!! what was the point? I mean it looked awesome already why wast time money and effort to now have a pink car with black rims. I mean if its for restoration then go for it, but that edge was perfect before😒
It’s all about preference. To you it was perfect. To me every single car I see looking exactly the same. This video doesn’t do it justice. I hate the stock look and In real life this thing gets way more compliments then I would of imagined.
Plasti dip cost- longevity vs paint cost- longevity? I know a good paint job can cost $3000+ but can last the lifetime of the vehicle. I've read where plasti dip will last no more than 3 years even if done correctly and taken care of, but I don't know what it cost to have done. But I'm not one of those people who changes the color of the vehicle every time I get new tires (about every 3 years).
blueknight Pros of plasti dip in my opinion outweigh the cons. Yes you might have to retouch it in about 3-5 years, but if you have a new car the plasti dip will protect the paint from scratches and rock chips. Atleast for me it does. That music was out of control
Very nice color for your wife or husband . Now my wife want this on hers . Great , FML
That's pretty impressive! The color is awesome! My Escape would look killer like that!

Thanks for the positive feedback. Definitely need more people like you in this world. You gave your output without it being negative and hateful
That looks awesome! Thinking of doing the same color.
Looks good I would have blacked out the chrome though.
The music describes the kind of person that would choose that color

Stop procrastinating! Haha
I just did this color on my Silverado I love it 👍 good job bro
Glad to see you coat the roof. Fonzie never coats the roof.
Because it’s hard 😅
I've done this color now. Looks so much better if it's not cleared. As soon as clear hits it it goes much darker
That came out amazing!! Great job man
Turned are beautiful
Why not use plastic for the c style windows and tail and front lights?
It peels off those areas
Is this the rubber plier handle dipping type of paint we're seeing used ??
Good job! 👍

What did you use to spray car . Was it that portable spray thing you spray houses with ??
Stage 3 dipsprayer by earlex so yeah it is a HVLP sprayer this one runs about $500 or so
Okay thank you for replying
no matter what color you choose at the end of the day a ford is a ford.

Yeah I’ll make sure to make a video before I change the color. I wanna try a blue next.
How long will this last on average? Is there a time frame to remove it before it becomes a problem to remove?
If you apply it correctly it doesn’t become a problem to remove. The color starts to fade at about 5 years and then a touch up is needed
That higher psi sprayer really makes the dip pop to a true(er) satin.

Is it peeling yet how long did it take.
Took a solid 12 hours and it’s not peeling yet

Ben lovato I live about 400 miles from there. Those cars are sweet. But you can message me at westcodip@gmail.com
I want to do this to my car but I don't have a cat to help me plus I don't like the dull look
Plasti dip is a matte finish for the not as dull look it’s autoflex coating
at 7:00 I was thinking you munted the Ford logo :P
You forgot about the black plastic panels at the bottom of the doors...
You should've went with a flat black. But it looks really good the way it is though.
Should’ve put glossafer on it
How much is it for a job like that
Costs for parts is about 500
Looks good
Good job
Nice!
Why no clear coat
It’s plasti dip. It’s peel-able paint. It’s supposed to have the matte look to it
Nice work and in less than ten minutes you sure move fast. 😂
Great job
So how much to do an explorer?
The 570 Experience with this color it’s about $800
@@kevana7063 thanks
How much for Audi.A4. And where in Colorado. ? Thanks.
Should have taped off the rocker panel too if you're going to tape off the front and rear valance
Honestly should have gonna end up peeling that plasti dip off from there
how long did this last before taken off?
Issac Gutierrez still on the vehicle

Quite possibly the worst music I ever heard

Used the Large Kit? Or XL
