    HI, so I have a PC at home in my home office, and its running Windows 10 pro/ with AMD Ryzen 9 3900x 12 core processor, 32 GB ram/ 64 bit operating system, and to me looking at vdjs MS Windows system requirements, and I seem to be in an ok place the desktop machine for home office use but when I click save prepared stems it takes about 4.5 minutes for it to run the process, so if i wanted my office tesktop to be able to run the stems prosess like it was nothing lighting fast, so when I load a song in player A, by the time the song loads its also done with the stem what do i have to do.

    I have an old 6700k with a gtx 1070 and 32gb of ram (win10) that was able to do stems on the fly without a problem until one month ago were after an vdj update i received a WARNING of 'USE REDUCE QUALITY' STEMS 2.0 and i don't like the fact that i have to pre- prepare the stems now.
    What PC specs or a GPU would you recommend for working with stems on the fly ? I read on forums that a lot of people complained even with a high end GPU won't able to use stems 2.00 on the fly and get that warning from VDJ.
    Also is an i7 13700k with an nvidia 4070 ti or 3070 ti series and 64gb of ram able to do stems on the fly ?

      @DJLeFave  7 місяців тому

      When they say "on the fly" I think they are setting expectations too high. Tomorrow when I power it up, I'll share the specs on a recent dell that I got that can handle them rather quickly for you. But any 3000/4000 series with 64 gb of ram should be more than enough horse power to get you where you want to be.
      Basically, from a windows perspective (I know jack diddly about macs) you NEED that ram to help. Most high end alienware/gaming pcs will get the job done, but they are huge usually.

    I have a brand new Laptop but sadly it does not have a dedicated graphics card as recommended for stems by VDJ.
    If I plan on using stems would you recommend that I exchange this laptop for one that has the recommended video card?

    • @DJLeFave
      @DJLeFave  7 місяців тому

      The graphics card is mostly required to do stems on the fly. If you have the time to pre prepare your stems and not need them on the fly, then what you have will work, albeit it just takes longer.

    Is it possible to have to have virtual dj prepare stems for all my music at a go without actively djaying and how long does it usually take to prepare stems for a song?

    Hey, thanks for the videos, lots of useful tips I have found. Hoping you can help me solve an issue that nobody else seems to be able to? I stream live sets on twitch and facebook sometimes, however for some reason my setup is no longer working, I have an external sound card to use for my headphones for mixing, this used to mean only I can hear the track I am setting up ready to mix on OBS studio. For some reason this has stopped working. Now the only way to do it is to have the sound for the headphones and master on channels 1 and 2 but that means people listening to the stream can hear me setting up a track even though its not coming through the speakers?!??! It worked perfectly before and did not think I had changed anything but must have for it to be messed up. Any ideas?

    • @DJLeFave
      @DJLeFave  6 місяців тому +1

      I'd check vdj audio setting and see where your headphones are being routed to first. If that matches master output then there's your issue.

    • @dekkx1
      @dekkx1 6 місяців тому

      @DJLeFave I have master set up for channels 1/2 and headphones to USB sound card on channel 3/4 but the sound doesn't come through when before it was. I can only get sound if I put both on channels 1/2 but then OBS picks up the incoming track even though its not being brought in on crassfader.

    AMD Ryzen 7 or better?
    Virtual DJ has worked fine for me with my Ryzen 3 but obviously stems require a lot of resources.
    Sadly a Ryzen 7 is still a high spec so I wish Virtual DJ would be more specific as to which generation they are talking about.
    I am pretty sure a 13th Gen Intel i3 would work perfect since they might be referring to an older generation.

    • @DJLeFave
      @DJLeFave  7 місяців тому

      My guess is this recommendation is when using VDJ for all that it can do, including running Shaders, FX, or Videos and streaming. Just basic mixing of mp3s, I bet lower end specs are just fine.

  • @TomTom-gn9mp
    @TomTom-gn9mp 7 місяців тому

    It's my understanding that Virtual DJ requires the lowest PC specs out of all major DJ software.
    Serato on the other hand is known to require very high specs and with their recent updates has become very unstable even on high end PC's.

      I can't speak to other dj software, but I haven't had any crashing issues at any of my gigs.

    No it's not helpful the site at all because there are tons of CPUs and they're much different.
    Looking only at the initial number like i5 i7 etc means nothing.
    1st generation i5 is totally destroyed by today's celeron (and celeron does not have I they have N ). It Is not even compared to an i3 of today.
    The number that matters is the second the 3570k the 12300 etc
    The same goes for AMD. Ryzen 7 of 1st generation is totally destroyed in performance by Ryzen 3 of seventh Generation and probably by APUs of the last three years also...
    There are huge differences in performance and price.
    So if vdj minimum was i5 -520, we could know that a quad celeron is 20x enough today. There is a 13 year gap of progress between them
