yall Floridan's are no joke just casually working in a storm! also I have a suggestion in the future would u add a roll cage out of scrap piping?
Roll cage is a great idea, thanks for watching
@@chud327 is there a patron?
There is a patreon link in the description, but I don't try to push it much. I worry it may run some viewers off. Feel free to check it out and no pressure, but would appreciate some one to join the other 3 that have joined. thanks for asking and thanks again for watching.
@@chud327 yeah np if there's anything on a Amazon wish list under 150 I can try and buy it 🙏
I am sure there are many things, like rear shocks, carpeted dash pad, a real 3" exhaust cut out valve, are the first three things that popped into my head. I should be able to come up with more items if I look at my list and search the site... However, you don't have to do this. If you really want to, let me know, but you don't have too. Love the offer and that you are watching.
Your skill and ingenuity are amazing.
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!!
Nice vid, GREAT build! I had a slammed early S10 when I first moved to Tennessee 20 years ago. Always regretted not swapping in a V8 and holding onto it
I have had several I regret letting go of, but that is how it goes I guess. Thanks for watching!!
Uncle Tony, we know he should be dropping a 360 magnum in an early 90s Dakota!
@@MrThomasfouraker I have been searching for my next project for when this one has pretty much every thing finished. They are never really finished…
Hey man. Found ur channel last night. I started watching channels like ur channel a while back to learn about rebuilding engines, old classic cars, etc and what it all takes and I have learned so much I never knew about.
It's really inspirational to see these trucks and cars being brought back to life after years of laying up in a filed or ditch or in a scrapyard.
Really like one of these trucks but here in Ireland we don't see any of these types of motors.
U made a fine job of this one. I think once u get a decent paint job on this Blue/Green truck it will finish it off beautifully bro..
Anyways I wanna finish by saying Salute to u all there from Dublin, IRE.. Keep up the great content..
Love that and glad you found the channel, thanks for watching!!
Wish I didn't break My back cause I can't work on cars or bikes thank God I'm alive and have a roof over my head so I love watching things being fixed up I'm a new sub
Sorry about your back and thanks for subbing!!! More content coming for you soon. Thanks for watching!

My father used to only ever own S10s until they stopped producing them. Something about a S10 that just hits so close to home. Weirdly probably my favorite vehicle right beside an old chevelle.
I love the S-10, kinda an addiction for me. Wouldn't mind having a Chevelle too, never had one before. Thanks for watching!
sick build. I love actual budget builds. Also love all the lawnmower content! Have a great weekend Chud!
Thanks so much and you too!!!
This has changed my recent marketplace searches
Love that and happy searching. I look for them daily... Thanks again for watching!!
Looking good with new stance and sounds good to, and yes a locker or limited slip from a local yard. Looking for next video.
Thanks so much and already working on it!! Thanks for watching!!
Thank you for chipping and brushing your welds. Thank you for jumping around and using a decent sequential tack/stitch method on the larger circumferences. It's good to see some decent methods being exercised.
Thanks, many people only want to see the bad with my welding. Trying to improve and more welding in episode #3 which should be out tomorrow. thanks for watching.
@@chud327 when people talk crap on somebody's welds, they're just repeating stuff that they overheard, they need to shut their mouth and go bag groceries, stop living a lie. It's such a bummer man. That's how I know certain things, if they act like that and they're not reverent to the trade, I know they ain't got the stroke. I told my students straight up, "put a hand on it and get it unfucked, or get out of the other guy's way, at least he's going after it". They straighten up real quick. Anybody who is quick to criticize, if he ain't God's gift to metal fab (which he ain't), ought to be shunned and excluded.
This dude is so humble!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
Solution to traction bar problem: Install an adjustable pinion snubber. It goes above the differential snout, and acts as a traction bar for the axle. It is also sneaky.
I imagine a limited slip differential carrier is in your future, as well.
Good tip and locker is on the list. Thanks for watching.
Self tapping screws are amazing. Great build. Watched all of Episode 1 and now I'm on episode 2. Great work Chud.
Self tappers are a must have around here!! Thanks for watching both, love that!!
Very nice, I just finished my 91 and have bought a 84 S10 to be my Daily Driver, Idk where in Florida you are but I live in Titusville, which across the Indian River from Cape Canaveral, but I work in East Orlando and needed something cheap and reliable to commute in. I ended up going with 307 and 350 Automatic Trans out of a 78 Olds Delta 88 in the 91 and painted it a Ivy Green Metalic with beige interior. The 84 I'm going to keep it simple, It's got the Iron duke 4 cylinder in it with a automatic trans and I;m going to just fix what needs fixing and drive it, I MIGHT paint it someday but the body is solid and the paint is mid, I;m just driving it it to work so i;'m not REALLY worried about the paint at the moment.
this UA-cam things gonna work out great for you if you keep up the hard work. I'm in the middle of doing a sbc swap into a 91 s10 which is how i came across the videos. Keep up the great work and I look forward to seeing more
That's the plan! I hope it really takes off good. Thanks so much for watching and good luck on your swap. Do you have any videos on here of it? Thanks for watching.
Going back thru the series . Love the mowers with the boys toi
Very cool. I plan to do an update on my red S-10 soon, that will give you more to watch. Thanks for the comments and for the watches.
I had that same motor in a 1993 Buick road master limited. Loved that car.
This is the 2nd video I've ever seen of yours. Charles build 1 being the first. You got yourself a new subscriber!
Love hearing that and thanks so much for the subscription!! Thanks for watching! Update #3 should be out this weekend, hope you will check it out!

Love the build. I've got a super clean 88 s10 that I want to v8 swap. I like the idea of an LT1. It fits the Z28 theme really well.
I am loving the LT1, yes on Z/28 theme. Now I need some bucket seats and a console. I have actually found another S-10... Wonder if it wants to be Corvette themed. If you V8 yours keep me up-to-date. Thanks for watching!
Sat up all night watching your videos of CHARLES. I had a 93 Z28 so that LT1 brought back some good memories great build bud. Good job awesome stuff

Hey man it's Blake we used to talk through comments a couple years back, I just sold my little s10 it has the 4.3 V6 it was pretty quick
He Blake, nice catching up. I rode in a 4.3 S-10 once and I think it was faster than the 350 one I had at the time. Guy said it had a chip... anyways, thanks for watching.

Hi new to the channel like what your building , I put a 383 sbc in a 92 Isuzu about 6 years back loved it this brings back some good memories Anyway I think it’s just missin a mini spool or locker for the rear end and a front valence and CHARLES will be farm truck ready
383 Isuzu sound sick!! Update #3 coming out this weekend, hope you will check it out and thank you for watching!! Locker on the list.
youre that cool car guy next door. i would love living next to you. I miss my s10 more after seeing your videos.....

@@chud327 Super cool positive energy. You are doing a super fast family friendly thing... keep growing and you will hit your million subs in a few years and be set for life building your own business. But some stay true to themselves and keep their very loyal audiences. Keep it up!
Hey chud327, I stumbled across your budget build video tonight. I have a 1988 Jimmy powered by LT1 T56. A friend 3d-printed me a badge for the front of mine that looks like the gm fuel injection badge that has been updated to say 5.7. If you'd be interested in one I'd gladly mail you one. I just subscribed. Thanks for your content.
I tried posting my email contact info but it must have been deleted. Any idea how to share info/pics?
Im so glad you went back to the 2" blocks. The 3s were too much, and this is coming from someone who has a lowered 1st gen s10. (3" clearance back and 2" front on 205/65/15 tires)
I liked the three ok, but did not want the front higher. Did you see part 3, I put the 3 inch blocks on a matching truck bed trailer. Thanks for watching!!
@@chud327 yup I followed the whole series. Was super weird the trailer was stacked THAT much higher
I meant to say this a few days ago but #42. This truck is really coming along nicely!

This is an absolutely amazing build!!! Motivating me to get my truck going! I can’t wait to see more!
More is on the way, was working on the truck bed trailer yesterday. Will try to get episode #3 out soon. Thanks for watching and get your truck going.
We need to see more of Charles asap

Hell yeah that's a nice S10 I still got mine that my dad gave me we put a 355 5.7L v8 in it and it rips down the street/dragstrip
Very cool my S-10 V8 brother. Thanks for watching!!
Being a former Chevy tech.... I would recommend making sure your optispark is kept very dry...
Yes, I have heard they like it dry. thanks for watching.
a cheap way to get really nice throttle response and it didnt cost much was a air foil it went in the throttle body dude, also you might want to check the length's on your cold air,i think its supposed to be more like 12 inches not sure but it might help for sure so look into that, ooh also for more power theres a thing on the front of the intake that allows hot water to flow thru the intake, its for cold weather way up north,if you plug those off it will run cooler meaning more power,i did all of these to mine back in 1998 and it was a beast im telling ya.see what else,i had a msd box on mine too so if you see one grab it.most important just make sure nothing is going to hit when your engine flexes like up against the firewall, mine hit and believe it or not it ran not as good i could feel it.on my ls swap i spent days beating and banging my blazer so nothing would hit, people dont realize motors do flex a lot haha cool video
Those are a lot of cool suggestions, thanks so much and thanks for watching
Wished you were my neighbor as I have a truck been sitting for 10+ years waiting to be finished. I could use your knowledge to help me get the build finished I’ve hit a rock wall with what to do with several things.
That is too bad, how far away from me are you? I am in NE Florida. Thanks for watching.
Another great video! Be careful on flashing the title. Some crazy people out there.
I am not sure what you mean, but thanks for watching!!

Wish I could find a deal on a 6.0. maybe next time and thanks for watching!!
Here is one for you that newer S10 looks bucket set and you can adjust either side and it has a cup holder. I have a 1998 GMC SONOMA and that's what is inside my truck 🚚

I suggest putting a posi in the rear or welding the diff.
It is on my list, will try to make it happen soon. Thanks for watching!

i think LT1 's are reverse flow on the radiator btw, maybe not. it was on my 93 camaro. 275 hp for the win buddy!!!!!
I think the are reverse flow. I have heard some are 300 and 330 horse too. Thanks for watching!
You did a great job
Thanks so much and thanks for watching
I did an 03 extended cab with 1995 lt1 . Long tube headers-700r4 trans- carb intake with HEI distributor- 670 holley-8.625 s10 rear end from a 1999 s10 with rear disc brakes -3.42 gears and summit racing posi unit. Runs like a Raped ape
Sounds like it was a real beast... thanks for watching.
To save money on a rear differential you can just weld the rear differential to save money for them rear tires to be spinning at the same time👍
I need to try that and thanks for watching!!
I’ve watched your lt1 s10 videos like I watch my favorite TV show. Religiously!
Love that. Have a Charles and the red S-10 both have update videos 95% done. Should be out soon. Thanks for watching and for the comment!!
It’s cool. I think it needs to be primer color at this point. Would give it that in progress look
Great suggestion and thanks for watching.
I would put a Eaton posi unit in Charles , Nice build!
Great tip and thanks for watching!
@@chud327 no problem I put a Eaton posi 4:11 gear in my 69 camaro 396bb and wow it hooked up awesome, I put lockers in my 74 bronco with 4:56 gearing 35 inch tires and man on the street it was squirly and if it was wet , or rain it would buck out and go sideways with 1/4 of throttle into turns or strait line with a v8 302 maybe making 225hp motor, and c4 automatic tranny just my experience.
@@brotherskrillrc6042 will keep that in mind for sure
Instead of the "slapper" traction bars you can use clamps and clamp the ends of short leaf of the rear springs all together it does the same thing and there wont be a ground clearence issue
Nice tip and thanks for watching!!

I wish I knew how to do this
I 100% agree. Some would save tons of money other could make tons of money. Thanks for watching!!
Comin along real nice!!!
Thanks so much and thanks for watching.
to do this today no matter what is 10 grand . a blown up ,rusted to the gills s10 is 4k in ct . pre covid it could be dome for 5 grand with a ton of time and tons of haggling . ive done at least 10 of these and its WAY easier to use a carb and a 1 wire alt . stock 4.3 motor mounts work . biggest problem is the rear ends cant hold POWER at all . i use a explorer 8.8 with caltracs . this is where you have no choice it will have to be done . if all your drive on is dirt or grass a stock axle is ok . BUT if you drive on tar it will never ever last unless you put put at 1/4 throttle . full length headers are the best way to go unless you want a cobbled up mess like in this video . your putting a v8 in at least spice it up with a cam . in all my s10s i put a thumper cam kit and a noisy gear drive kit . Aluminum intake with a 750 carb , AluRadiador Aluminum 4 core Radiator for 4.3 s10 with silicone hoses . yes you can hack shit together but in the end you will have nothing but problems . do it right like this and it will last unless you want to carry half a junk yard with you at all times when you break down 3 x times a day ! there are a shit ton of parts made for s10s out there dont hack shit that dont need hacking
If it is "hack" or spend 10,000, I'll go for "hack". Have had 5 "hacked" together V8 S-10s some with big cam some not. All had stock rears and no issues yet with just street tires. Thanks for the tips for all your "nonhack" advice and we will see how long it last. So far, no break downs yet. Thanks for watching.
Súper cool project 😎
Thanks so much and thanks for watching!
Use the newer rearend from the silver 2nd gen. truck. The Torsen "locker" from a 99 thru 2002 Camaro bolts into the S-10 rearend, provided you have the 28 spline axles.
Great tip and I just so happen to have the 2nd generation rear under the truck bed trailer. I was thinking the same thing, but had not researched it yet. Thanks for watching.
@@chud327 For some really convoluted junkyard engineering, locate the S-10 rearend housing and frame bracket for the "hop-stop" horizontal shock mount, add the axles and disc brake setup from a late model 2WD S10 Blazer, and the Torsen differential from the 99-02 Camaro/Firebird. ZQ8 leaf springs (1½" drop) and Blazer or ZQ8 sway bar. All factory GM goodness!
Mine has that horizonal hop stop shock, but my springs are not ZQ8, it looks like it has a 6 inch lift kit on the truck bed trailer... thanks for all the GM tips.
This build is 🔥 🔥 🔥 👌
