Another perfect tutorial! Thanks so much! I am a (ballet) dancer and just added a yoga class to my schedule and so much in yoga is challenging for me (I’m hypermobile too 🙃). I really want to make sure I am doing the poses correctly and not just falling into my flexibility. Your videos are fantastic and really helpful to me! 🙏🏻🫶🏻😍

Concise video showing the mistake that a lot of "yoga teachers" don't even realise they are teaching people. Very nice. Crazy how people with a bazillion view are showing the technique wrong, but using really flowery yoga cult lingo. Haha

What is your perspective on it ? How should it be done ?

@@MrsPillows oh, the way she showed it here in this video is correct in my opinion :)

Yeha I'm just asking what is the correct one in your opinion?

@@MrsPillows The point she makes to avoid the hip *bump* or collapse is the main thing that makes it correct compared to most I've seen.

Interesting. I always teach my students to keep their hips side by side, I really feel it's a deeper stretch. I'm surprised how many videos I've found on youtube where they seem to rotate the hips. I really prefer this way.

Turning hips slightly towards the front leg (respectjng the direction of rotation of each leg) will help to avoid compression of SI joints. But as she said, definitely no "dumping" of the hips. 👍

    This is fine.
    Thanks.
Some videos I have seen, where they say to tighten the knees and lift up thighs and knee caps.. I really don't understand that thing.
Could you help me to understand this thing?🙂

Ok, I'm not a yoga teacher and this is not advice for the pose. But I think what that means is for you to contract your quads/tighten/squeeze your front thighs. But that will lock your knee. Not sure if that is a good idea, you might want to take a live class and ask a teacher? I think what tightening the quads would accomplish is you would stay strong in in your leg. But definitely losen stuff up when you're moving out of the pose. It is not good to move with locked joints because it can lead to injury.
