Very cool stuff man! Thanks for posting your hard work. That is one big beautiful piece of mammoth molar ivory! Nice file-work! Well done! Nice matching sheath! Great work!
Damn, Neil! Got up this morning and watched this again. A BIG THANK YOU again, for turning the idea into reality. Can't wait to get it and am mailing final pmt. today! It will be a treasured, one of a kind knife, that will pass down in my family! You da man!
Mammoth tooth, you find this? or just get on line?. It would be like finding an opalized skeleton of an emu. Anyway you had me at must see, this all works, Damascus blade, that tooth, the hilt and threaded cap, embossed sheath, truly a show piece that a father could pass down to his lad. The blues was easy on the ear and watching that tooth metamorphose, then that sewing machine that will outlast all of us. Your the man.
What an awesome blade, Blade! Thanks for taking the time to film the process, from beginning to end, my friend. Nice to see the raw material become a work of art, in the master craftsman's hands! How friggin' cool is that? A Paleo, Ice Age mammth tooth handle, fantastic steel, and a custom Paleo Dalton sheath! Sure looks like a creek dalton, to me.....;) ;) ;)
Ya know, normally I fast forward through a video because i want to see the finished product but your choice of music kept Me off the fast forward button. Absolutely beautiful craftsmanship to be extremely proud of.
wow that is the most beautiful knife Ive ever seen, as for I would die or give up a limb for that knife, You are a True Craftsman at what you do, very very sweet, one day when i can afford it, i would like a knife just like that 1
I would be curious to hear your experience drilling the molar. I have found that the enamel parts are hard like stone and have to use special multi purpose masonry bits to get through. Great knife.
Awesome knife and shealth I too build knives and shealth not the quality of yours but I try but know one know the time it takes to build a knife even a cheap one like mine lol untel you build it Keep up good work thanks
i feel honored just chatting with some one as skilfull as you mr bladesmith, that certanly is a killer, awesome vid. if you lived back and i mean way back in the day im sure you would be call master chief craftsman. you could have fit right in at the cucumber.
Love that antique leather sewing machine AND then, I see the knife sheath! Niiiiice! Fluted Holland pr Dalton point? I've been an artifact hunter for almost 30 years.
Man i have watched this vid sooo many times! lol. a true masterpiece mang! the nicest knife i have ever laid eyes on hands down. peace and blessings bro!
Nice work there, very well done. I have several pieces of Mammoth tooth and about a dozen billets of Damascus just waiting on my skills to get good enough to make them into knives.
5 stars bro! What a piece of art, no kiddin', and that sheath too. Top friggin' notch. Can I be your MT/WY/ID knife rep? :) Great lil' production there man, sick music/vid combo at 11:10, su-weeeeet! Got me rockin' on a Friday night...lol. Thank for sharin' the goods m'friend, talk soon!
Can you tell me if that was a weld or more of a brazing type connection between the round stock to the stick tang? could you please explain what that roll of solder looking material was and your torch setup please ? What type steel is the round stock? Thank you for showing your beautiful knife making skills.
beautiful product. Do you have a store. I'd like to order one of these knives exactly like you made in this video, with a sheath exactly the same. Thanks Gary
@richardsrockhouse Well, thank you very much for the kind words Mr Richard!! I'm glad you enjoy my work!! I'm pretty sure you will see this one in person some time in the future! later
Maybe a stupid question; At 5:35 what's that liquid? How long do you keep a blade in there... and should that metal be carbon steel? I use only factory made blades and don't know too much about etching nor Damascus.
+bubu mic I would of thought it sold for more. Is that why you have two question marks? Mammoth ivory that has good coloration is usually about $200 a pound. Not only is it prettier than clean ivory, its really hard to fake. That value will probably go up in time because of limited supply :P 'Dirty Ivory'(ivory with mineral deposits) only recently received a high demand, mostly because clean ivory is so well faked now, you never know if you have the real deal, and people would question it even if you did.
That was awsome. Great craftmanship. Waiting for your next video. Your singer wins my two needles and an awl. I envy... a lot! Thanks for the video.
Beautiful work. The combo of Damascus and the Mammoth tooth beautifly compliment each other. Beautiful leather too. Love it.

Really nice knife. I noticed the jig you have for grinding the bevel. Was that home made? Looks like it made short and accurate work of the blank.
