We have decided to make another video without music :)
So here's a crazy idea I've come up with, an obsidian-like pattern on the blade. With a mammoth tooth handle it makes a pretty primitive looking knife I think 😁
The mammoth tooth is really hard to process and it smells like at the dentist's. The effect was totally worth the struggle tho.
Let us know your opinion about this style 😊

How to blacken steel (hot oxide):
A mixture of caustic soda (700g), potasium saltpeter (250g) and water (1,2 l)
The temperature of the solution should be kept between 120 - 140 C.
I keep the knife inside for about 30 minutes to get consistent black colour, you can manipulate the time to achieve different results, shorter period should give you dark brown or purple - ish colour.
Be careful - this mixture is highly corrosive!
Heat treatment:
-Austenizing temperature: 830 C
-Tempering: 180 C
Specs:
Tiger
Steel: 80CrV2 4mm
Length: 250 mm
Blade width: 35 mm
Blade length: 130 mm
Handle: Stabilized mammoth tooth, Brass pins
Weight: 220 g

What do you think about this crazy pattern on the blade? :)
Excellent as u do always 🔥🔥💪👍
It’s awesome!
It looks good ive always called it a rock pattern.
Very nice!
Looks good and wouldn't have if not wasn't blackened and goes great with the mammoth tooth scales
Love the pattern on the blade, love the handle scales even more - absolutely gorgeous. Fantastic work, thank you for the video!
Thank you
It's the first video on knife-making I have ever seen that is remarkably complete. Everything is done well and neatly, shown perfectly - with the fullest description on the specifics, the quote about riling a tiger being a cherry on top.
To me, these all fine details mean top-notch class. The maker's Class. That's certainly WOW, sir. The vid gets its well-deserved WOW, instant subscription, like, comment, and share. Let alone the knife, which is Absolutely Fantastic - from the design to form-factor, from the manufacturing process to the materials and the box.
Keep on doing the job, and see you on the next one!!
Thank you very much! We will strive to bring you as much value in the next videos
Awesome work and very cool project. I really like the custom logo pin, that is a step above and beyond.
Thank you :)

Very nice work, I usually don't really care for the rock texture on knives but you really made it work. Great video
I'm not a fan of it myself, but I thought it would look cool when made like this ;)
Always wondered why do you heat treat the blade before grinding the bewels. Makes it a little more difficult keeping it cool. Gorgeous knife tho
O to samo miałem zapytać.
He killed this knife, because I don't see any watter and he grind it for long time
It's less work, because you don't need to clean the decarb after HT, so you only grind it once.
You just need to make sure not to overheat it
And NO, I didn't kill the knife, did you see any tempering colours while grinding?
Also, we always have a tank of water standing next to the grinder.
@@BarbershopCustomsthank you for answering, that makes sense, but I think I'll stay with the '' first grind then heat treat'' method, simply because i dont have a good belt sander, so i have to work while the steel is soft
Impresionante trabajo !! 👍👏👏👏
Outstanding look, and workmanship
Thanks :)
Just purchased this Tiger, can't wait to see.🐅
Thank you for your order 😊 I hope it will serve you well
Wow what a beautiful piece of art it's absolutely amazing
Thank you
The blade and handle go so well together. Fantastic knife and video.
Thank you!
Una joya !!!!!! Hermoso cuchillo 😍 💯💯💯💯👏👏👏👏👏💪🏽💪🏽
Very nice work! Please let me know what do you use for blackening of the handle steel at the end of the process.
It’s in the description.
the knife is a very, very, very beautiful!! the black colour and pattern is perfect! can U tell me please what is in bottle with red cap?
That is super unique. Bravo
Thank you!
Absolutely beautiful, outstanding work😍
Great video. Beautiful craftsmanship. What liquid was in the pot that made the knife dark?
Amazing beautiful knife…good job!!!
I personally would have went with a Yakut for the overall design since it is one of the oldest known knives used but this is nice too.
Among steel knives, yes, but this one refers to the stone age tools :)
my advice, you should harded after do the bevels that way the steel is more soft and you will extend the live of you sanding belts, what an amazing knife👌
Grinding it after ht prevents from the decarb tho. It's also less work since you only need to grind it once 😊
Dzięki, wzajemnie 🤙

Sweet I like that!! Beautiful knife you've made and love the handle and a great job making it
Enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up
Thank you!
@@BarbershopCustoms You're welcome
A work of art 🔪👍🏻 what’s in the pot you boil the blade in to colour it I started making puukko knives and would like to try that finish
Awesome as always .Great looking knife. You have great attention to detail that's the difference between a good and a great knife.
Thank you! This is true, details always make all the difference
What process did you use to darken the blade? & what was the paste you put on it before putting it in the furnace.. sorry, tryin to learn.
It's a really beautiful knife!
Thanks! :)
WoW ... 😍😍😍 PIĘKNOŚĆ!!!
Dzięki
Nice work....good lookin' blade!
Thanks
hello, is it possible to have the schema of the pattern? thank you.
Hello, the your mixture of caustic soda and potassium is not toxic when you use your knife for food? Thanks
sir, question , till what grit do you sand the mammoth tooth before applying the polishing paste
2000
You should first finish the grinding of the bevels etc, and then heat treat. After all, grinding a softened steel will prove to enhance the durability and life span of your belts. Besides that, I think that that knife looks absolutely amazing. Great vid. man. Also love your thumbnails!:)
The way we do it, it's easier to prevent the steel from decarb. It's also less work, because this way you need to only grind it once instead of twice 😁

Thank you

Thanks
Super knife. 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍👍
Hello beautiful knife beautiful job well done
Thanks!
Amazing knive! 😊👍
Thanks
Very good job again, as always. Also loving your video editing. An idea btw; if I was doing this, i would finish the handle scales (mount them temporarily to the blade and work on the belt grinder) before the steel blackening process. Then I wouldn't lose the nice blackened surface on the handle side maybe?
Yeah, I was thinking abnout this too, the problem is that you can't get an ideal fit without glueing it first (using natural materials) and I believe the fit is more important than the blackening :)
@@BarbershopCustoms Makes sense :)
Awesome informational educational video experience Y'alls God Bless Ya 🙏
Thanks! We're glad it helped :)
I went to your website as I was interested in buying? I didn’t see it there?
It's sold, only currently available knives are listed there :)
Was this a vinegar etch?
Can you make one in a more edc friendly size?
I think it was more of a one time project than a regular thing :)
What is the stuff you smear on the blade before HT? is that to prevent decarb?
Yup, it's an anti decarb paste
The fact that you have all the fanciest gear like a water jet and proper heat treat oven yet still use a drill bit to centre scribe for your bevels makes me giggle, if it ain't broke... 😂
I really find this method the most convinient and the fastest :D And it doesn't need to be exact as I check it with a caliper during the final grinding passes :)
@@BarbershopCustoms no point in changing what works 😂
Nice sculpting
Looks amazing brother... whats that Paste you put on that mammoth?
Thanks, it's a fine car polishing paste
Beautiful weapon
Thanks
Miss the music in the videos, you always chose good stuff. Do you think you will do a Fang again?
Well, a lot of people didn't like the music so we decided to make every other video without it :) I don't think we will make Fang again as we try to make the videos as unique as possible :) But I believe we will make some other damascus knives in future :)
Spectacular
Thanks
That sure is a pretty knife.
So nice knife
Thanks
What is the chemical he used to make the blade such a dark color?
Nice job do you sell them
Usually the knives that we show on videos are one time projects to make something different and more unique.
But all currently available knives are listed on our webiste:

Dobra robota ,jak zawsze
Dzięki

Cool knife man! That mammoth is pretty finicky! The tooth is a little harder to work than the tusk is. I just made a puukko with the tusk and it was awesome. Definitely smells like burning hair!
Beautiful build!
Thank you :)
Awesome ♥️
lol 52 seconds ago!i can already tell this is gonna be a great vid

Where did the mammoth tooth come from?
We purchased it from "mammoth tooth addict" on Facebook, I believe they import them from Siberia
