I like all these knives but I like the smaller alligator bone knife the best. It’s very elegant. Have a great weekend Dad !

I have some lovely commercially made bone handled knives in my collection, (and a ton of ivory handled cutlery saved from the trash in various places) appreciate you showing off yours. Love that jawbone knife handle especially, I might try that next time I find an isolated fox jaw.
I like taking old butter knives with those nasty celluloid/faux ivory handles, stripping the handles and reshaping the blades then putting found bone handles on them. I've used everything from hunter discarded deer legs to rabbit and fox bones and I've found that people really like to use them as athames or just keep them as curios. My favourite that I've made personally was a scratch made Bowie I made for my little brother, electro etched his name into the blade and gave it a white oak handle and a deer leg joint pommel. Both myself and my brother collect bones (particularly skulls) and complete skeletons from the woods and prep them so adding that into blacksmithing and knife making I do for fun was a natural progression and as you say bone is a wonderful material to work with

You should check out some of the knives Aitor makes they are the toughest knives i've ever used and are razor sharp. I've used the root saw on the bowie to cut the antlers off of the 13 point buck I shot.

The First knife you own is a German made hunting knife either from the 50's to 60's.

Dude you should check out the Civivi Elementum, my brother got one a few months ago and it is FANTASTIC! Made in China, but it actually is super good quality, and I would definitely consider getting it as a gift for a "non-knife person". Its easy to use and to understand, so no problems with people not knowing how to use it, its got good ergonomics, and has great overall EDC capabilities.

I just looked it up, it reminds me of the SOG Twitch. Looks like it has good reviews too.
