  • Winston is a one-year-old standard poodle and the first K9 to join our the Wake County Sheriff's Office as a therapy animal. Winston’s addition to our Peer Support Team will enhance our ability to reduce the effects of acute and cumulative stress that comes with the job of being a first responder and our other public safety agency professionals. Reducing the negative effects of stress on the minds and bodies of our employees is the core mission of the WCSO Peer Support Team.
We are excited to welcome him to our team to enhance our response and care for our employees, their families, and members of the greater community that have experienced or are on the scene of traumatic events. Winston is here to provide comfort and support.
Thank you to the local family who donated him to our office. He is ready to serve with lots of cuddles and pets.
