  • This video is a side-by-side comparison of two Bissell compact bagless canister floor (not upright) vacuums: the Aeroswift and the Powerforce.
After searching Google and UA-cam, I was unable to gather very much information that was given to determine which of these two vacuums was the better product. Although there were a very few videos of, mostly unboxing the product, none really gave me all the information I was looking for. So, I decided to make my own comparison video, which I hope will help at least one person out there in cyberland! Please do let me know your comments below.
I note that these units are both very light, appear to be well made (even considering they're all plastic), great for doing stairs, and if not abused, each should last the owner a respectable service life. They would also be excellent as a primary vacuum for a small apartment, or kept as a secondary vacuum for a specific area of a home, say the bedrooms or the kitchen. Both, in addition to the observations made in the video, have a washable canister filter as well as washable air exhaust filter (nice).
The Aeroforce listed for $129.99 at Canadian Tire in July 2021 and was purchased on sale for $79.99.
The Powerforce is a special Limited Edition Wal-Mart purchase listing for $68.88 in August 2021 and purchased on sale for $58.88.
The retail difference of $68.11 ($21.11 on sale price) for what appears to be the same product, aside from color, makes it pretty easy to decide which one I was going to keep!

Nice review. The side by side comparison shows them looking to be the same . Now I am going to look up the specs on each. Thanks.

Yeah agree. Very informative. However, I wish he could discuss the filter, what type of filter need if ever I need to replace it.

Sorry for the delay in answering... the filter is a two piece filter. A plastic micron filter housing with a removable plastic & stainless steel mesh cyclinder that fits over the housing. The part is #2888X051, but another reason I bought this is because the filter can be repeatedly cleaned and reused. Unless you lose or somehow damage it, it doesn't need replacing.

Interesting video Ive owned both of these at seperate times and never noticed how much they are alike. Seems like a old trick my buddy who is in retail told me about. You wouldn't believe a few of the things he brought to my attention mostly just little simple things they do to catch the eye of a customer to make a sale and they actually work! Like at fancier restaurants they don't put .99 after the price "55" for a steak looks more affordable then 55.99 . Or putting 10 for 10$ sale on 80 cent banannas, loading the checkout aisle with $1 $2 items that you wouldn't buy from somewhere else in the store if you only had a $20 bill. Ect ect anyways in this situation I think he called it multi level marketing, same product but catering to diffarent groups of people with diffarent incomes. Like a can of spaghetti sauce for $1.99 for some folks but further down the aisle is the exact same sauce but in a glass jar by a diffarent brand for the "fancy" folk who only eat $5.99 spaghetti sauce. Anyways he explained it much better then I did but I think you get the jist of it haha rant over. Cheers!

How do u clean out the filter? I have to keep my old vac to clean it out each time or no suction

The way the unit is designed (cyclonic action) the debris is kept away from the filter itself except for the flow of air and any fine particulate. The dust & dirt & hairs seem to be forced against the inside wall of the removable see-through canister. I've only had to use a moist wet towel to wipe & clean the canister. The filter is lightly brushed with a soft bristle brush under warm water when it gets really dirty, otherwise, I've just used a low pressure aircan or hair dryer (on cool setting) to blow out any dust & dirt. Let everything air dry, or blow dry, before reassembling. I never used another vaccum to clean the filter although that sounds like a good idea. I have a shop vac I will try one day if the need arises.

Thanks for showing us they are the same. Is one a newer built? We are looking for a vacuum now and so far your video has changed my mind. But, how long will the cheaper ones last when picking up dog hair?

@@Isurvived4 I have no pets so can't comment regarding pet hairs, although I've seen vacuums that specify "pet hairs"... so maybe you should stick with a purchase specifically for pet hairs. What I do know, is that I'm surprised at the grunge this vaccum does pickup, matted fibers, dust, small debris, etc. and not that the cyclonic action forces everything I pickup against the outside wall of the canister.. away from the filter - not that the filter is always clean, but that it's certainly seems to be a lot cleaner with the cyclonic action feature. As far as pricing goes, I believe the Walmart purchase was a Limited Edition so I don't expect it will stay in their inventory continually. But, there maybe another version of it at a comparative price. The point I made in the video is that Bissell appears to have just placed two different product labels on the same product, which, for me, had been a great purchase.

@@Isurvived4 It is a Bissell... so it has a good name going for it. If it's a cheap vaccuum, then it's a good cheap vaccuum and as with anything, it will last as long as you take care of it. Nothing made today will last like stuff made back in the 50's and 60's when everyone built quality to last. Obsolete and planning timed failure rates weren't even thought of then. But I'm sure you can find really good ALMOST equitable products today, like MAYBE the Dyson line, but do you really have the scratch to afford those prices? I certainly don't and here's the thing: even if I did, would I really spend the extra money? Buy right and save and you will always have cash in your pocket.
