@@tonymckay6556 So how much of a pension would you recommend a person be bringing in per month to have a Very Comfortable Lifestyle in the Philippines??
We have a small 2 bedroom house in Bacolod $163.00 a month rent. Be aware it’s extremely hot in the Philippines and small islands and provinces are not going to have much in way of entertainment or places to go. No regional airports etc. Bacolod, fly to Manila or Cebu international airport, easy when visiting.
I am so glad you said that your experience is not "typical." I had started to question that in this comment until I heard you mention it in the vlog. I do appreciate very much the information you give and the thoroughness with which you give it. I think too often some vloggers really build up foreigner expectations without tempering it with a bit of reality. As always, thanks!
I can see me getting by easily on that budget as long as the rent stays under $450/month. I don't need to have US grocery items like I see a lot of expats craving for or can't do without. Local fruits and vegetables, fish and chicken and I'm a happy camper. I do my own cooking and baking and live on $100-$150/month grocery bill here in Florida. Eating out is extra but I hardly do that anymore. Keep on doing what you're doing Calvin!👍🏽🏝️
If you can live on local foods , veggies and fresh fruit in the Philippines you'll be OK, and probably more healthy too as less processed food, now if you need Western Cheeses , Steaks, and Frito Lays those cost more than triple Costco prices.
You can live on that much for a grocery bill, even on Siquijor. Especially if you go fishing yourself or grow a garden. Heck, you'll be ahead so to speak.
Living on a remote island is not for everyone. You have a medical history, and if a medical emergency happens, it may take a full day for you to get to a modern hospital on the mainland. If you are not in the best shape (most of us are not), I would recommend being near a big city.
@@caeasylivin in America the doctors had me on 5 different medications that barely worked. In the Philippines, after 3 months I’m on ZERO medication!! No high blood pressure No diabetes No cholesterol problems No constant pain Lost 25 pounds And I’m happy 😅😊

Philippines has lots of options. You can simply choose where you want to stay depending on your budget and way of living Cost of living jin a city is definitely much more expensive than in the provinces. There are lots of islands with beautiful beaches, mountains, springs, waterfalls where you can stay if you love nature. Just be accustomed with the culture, food and weather to enjoy life in the Philippines. If you don't like the food, then you must learn how to cook your own. 😉🇵🇭
