Brilliant episode. One of my favourite UTC episodes ever. I'm a Spurs fan yet I could still appreciate the stories of that era. Very intelligent and insightful man is David Hillier.

The story about Jimmy Case doing him and him missing the 2 cup finals isn't quite right. Hillier got injured by case in 1991 and missed the FA Cup semi with Spurs at Wembley 5 days later. The biggest compliment i can give Hillier is that he may have been able to stop Gazza playing that day. Hillier got injured at Middlesborough in 1993, which cost him the 2 cup finals.
He goes on a weeklong, drug and alcohol fuelled bender, which admits he done previously, comes back, steals luggage, drags Club’s name through the papers and thinks he’s been harshly treated? One can only imagine how the mother of his unborn child felt.
Really David. A young Roy Keane schooled you at the City ground that day. You were dropped for Ian Selley in the return match at Highbury later in the season in which Roy scored the equaliser in the 90 th minute for Cloughies men. You were an underachiever and a disgrace to your profession.
What so if you make a mistake 10 + years before you can’t work in the fire service? 🤣 I would have thought the only criteria is being brave ,strong ,fit & having some intelligence
