Watched all of these over the last few years & this one was up there with the best of them, Malcolm comes across as a genuine man/ footballer who never lost his ‘common touch’ I was enthralled by this episode & can’t wait for part 2 next week. Exceptional podcast, possibly the best on YT imho.
Really liked this one. No ego at all, just a genuine guy who got a chance to play in the premier league. You can tell by the excitement in his voice that he is still pinching himself that it happened. Great episode.
Great interview and loved Malcolm Christie. Can't help thinking chairman of Nuneaton would have been thinking; "We can match Somerfield, but we're screwed if Waitrose come in for him!"
Seems like a proper genuine down to earth sound bloke. Really love the attitude he took when playing, a lot of people could learn a thing or two. "I was just so happy to be a footballer", wonderful.
People knock this podcast for not having the big hitters on, the beauty of this podcast, is the guests are relateable and or hilarious old golden balls would send us to sleep
Don't know why but the line "fucking hell, im up front with Wanchope here" really made me hit the giggles. Good episode, good few funny parts, Malcolm seems like a good guy. Always remember him in Championship Manager, could get him scoring in the right system lol
One of my favorites, he was always a player i enjoyed watching and he didn't play for my team, him and Huckerby were always signed when i played football manager back in the day, Love these down to earth modest guests you have on, can't wait for Kevin Lynch part 2.
Comes across so well, genuinely enjoyed that. Refreshing to hear a player enjoying the beautiful game for everything that it is, stark contrast to so many from today's era.
Wonderful story of a fairytale football fan who gets the lucky break they clearly earned. Was a great goalscorer and a favourite of many of my friends and colleagues while I was living in derby and when he moved to Middlesbrough as a Boro fan I was excited to see him kick on and do it for my team. Sadly injury ravaged it didn’t quite work out for him but he is such a grounded nice guy. Thoroughly enjoyed the podcast and hope part 2 is as good as the first.
Remember him well from back in the day. Loved that era of premier league (late 90s early 00s). Comes across as a top top bloke. Proper genuine. Not like a lot of the chancers and wasters in football these days.
Another good video lads. Was at the live show in Manchester last night. Good laugh all round. Most memorable moments were Parkys stage dive!!!! When that bloke started rapping on the stage and Browny told him to fuck off!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣👍🍺👏
The story about walking out with the 'agent' and the way he portrays how he felt doing the rabona to paolo 😂🤣😅 had me creased man just like any of us would proper top bloke 👌
Most non league players are ex apprentices who have been taught shapes and for forwards runs , so to go into non league and then professional and score goals with no previous coaching is more unbelievable
Don't worry Malc- a night out in Notts isn't that great. You spend half the night walking from bar to bar as it's all spread out! Can't wait for part 2
One of the best ones yet that, proper Roy of the rovers story. Remember it well too as I am about the same age and was playing Sunday League football and stacking shelves at Tesco. Malcolms rise to the PL gave the rest of us hope lol. Reckon most of us who are just football fans would be off to the club shop buying scarves, cuddly toys etc if we got a pro contract with any club 🤣
Great pod the most down to earth player yet. Have an autograph from him at Anfield when I was a kid in 2001. Pretty sure he scored at Anfield that day in a 1-1 draw
What a nice fella. Him and Chris Rigott came through the same time. Both great players whom had a bit of bad luck with the body. Get Rigott on also lads?
I was born in Nuneaton and grew up in the next town Hinckley. I can remember this. Was amazing knowing as a kid a young lad made it to the prem from Non league Nuneaton.
If you want to see Malcolm Christie's goals for Nuneaton Borough, they are available here. ua-cam.com/video/kwDdJTf_TDk/v-deo.html 12 goals in 12 games. Boro fans still talk about it :)
Anyone clicking on this link be warned, Christie’s goals are towards the end. There’s shit loads of a certain Rob Straw banging them in. 113 goals in 182 games for Boro apparently. He must have been out injured to allow Christie a look in!!
The most normal footballer you've had on, no bravado just genuinely honest .

One of the most underrated episodes this one guys! He’s ace Malcolm!
Super Ram!!
My all time favourite Derby player, still to this day! Scored twice against Man Utd on my birthday! Absolute legend!
Trained with Malcolm at Nuneaton. Incredible finisher
An absolutely stonking podcast. This is one of the best I’ve seen.
By far the best podcast about the dynamic between all 3 of you just works it's my go to fall asleep listening to podcast
Seems like a proper genuine down to earth sound bloke. Really love the attitude he took when playing, a lot of people could learn a thing or two. "I was just so happy to be a footballer", wonderful.
Lovely genuine lad. All the best for the future Malcolm.
He is such a genuine guy
One of my favourites ever. He should do talks on confidence. Heart on his sleeve and how many of us have been there
People knock this podcast for not having the big hitters on,
the beauty of this podcast, is the guests are relateable and or hilarious
old golden balls would send us to sleep
the most unaffected player I've ever seen by the football world. Proper genuine fella. Hats off lads. Some of the best are the most surprising ones.
Love how excited he got thinking back about when he first signed as a proper footballer 🙌🏼 thats what missing nowadays. The passion
FUCK PASSION GET RICH

Made me smile more than most this. Genuine nice guy living his dream

UTB
1:04:22 - "Steve Round around me around that time" - amazing
Expedited him to be a bit flash for some reason but he's probably one of the most down to earth lads that's been on. Top man
Brilliant interview. He lived a dream for sure. Definitely the most normal guest on the podcast so far.
This kid was a great striker, it's a shame he was riddled by Injury. So clinical and a proper forward
what a lovely genuine person Malcolm seems to be.
Remember him well from back in the day. Loved that era of premier league (late 90s early 00s). Comes across as a top top bloke. Proper genuine. Not like a lot of the chancers and wasters in football these days.
One of those those ones you just didn't want to end. Such a nice genuine lad living the dream. Not a bad bone in his body. Great show lads
Comes across really well Malcolm. Looking forward to watching part 2.
Another good video lads.
Was at the live show in Manchester last night.
Good laugh all round.

This was quality, can't wait for Pt.2. So refreshing to hear such an honest and candid pov
Christie was a great buy on Champ Man 01/02
at last ... a player who realised most of our dreams and didn't turn out to be a cock. great podcast. great stories. proper lad 🤝
🤣
All I knew about this guy was from him short stint at Leeds, a fantastic guest.
“Surprisingly down to earth and VERY funny”
Was annoyed that they could not understand that the Derby contract wasn't about the money for Malcolm, is was just about making it. Very telling
Tend to get the impression Parkin is not that arsed about football
What a really down to earth fella , looking forward to part 2 !
Wow! How down your earth was he? Such an amazing first episode. Can’t wait for part 2
Superb interview , cant wait for part 2
What a lovely guy he appears to be, no Billy big head, just a down to earth sound lad.
Malcolm speaks absolutely rapid!
I cant keep up 😂
It would have been an 5 part episode if not
I use to play footy with him at Stamford college when I was a kid. Saved one of his shots once with no gloves. My god it stung for quite a while!!!
Most non league players are ex apprentices who have been taught shapes and for forwards runs , so to go into non league and then professional and score goals with no previous coaching is more unbelievable
Cheers Jeff
we've got a real alex scott on our hands here, lads
Don't worry Malc- a night out in Notts isn't that great. You spend half the night walking from bar to bar as it's all spread out! Can't wait for part 2

Best ever interview…..top gentleman 👍
What an honest and open lad? He was a great natural finisher in his day! Great one this
Lovely guy great listen can't wait for part 2🙌👍⚽️

Great listen. One of the best so far and I’ve listened to everyone.
Really likeable guy, Malcolm. 👍
my hero as a wain, met him too at training ground in 2001 😎
Great podcast. Malcolm seems a real decent lad when i thought he was a bit of a tool when he was playing.. Looking forward to second part next week 👍
Great player for us ( Derby) was such a fan favourite..
Once a RAM ALWAYS A RAM.
Excellent fellas 👌🏿
That agent was David Speedie...horrible shit on and off the pitch
One of my all time favourite Derby players really looking forward to this.
What a top guy Malcolm, wish we could have more footballers like him, just enjoyed his football, another brilliant pod-cast boys 🏐🏐
What a top lad. I promise you’d be fine in Nottingham now Malc. 🍻
Really like Malcolm down to earth fella
The best podcast ever real and the usual alcohol and women. This was a sad story A man who loved football Genuine
Patterns of play are a thing of the past at Rams. Bald Eagle what a manager.
UTB!!! Loved Christie at Boro such a shame about his injuries, could have been a 20 a season for us
Great pod the most down to earth player yet. Have an autograph from him at Anfield when I was a kid in 2001. Pretty sure he scored at Anfield that day in a 1-1 draw
I'd love to know who that agent was
Top work as always lads... we need Andy Mangan, Dean Saunders, Lee Trundle on
What a good bloke 👍👍
really nice bloke, genuine and just loved footy
He worked in the local Rainbow Supermarket (RIP) in deepest south Lincolnshire.
23:56 😂😂😂😂😂 'we need him'...
When you have joined the Patreon and got an RSS feed how can you access the extra videos rather than just the podcasts ?
Really enjoyed this!!
What a nice fella. Him and Chris Rigott came through the same time. Both great players whom had a bit of bad luck with the body. Get Rigott on also lads?
'Richarlison came on for a Cameo and did F-all apart from ball juggle'. Didn't see the cross he floated in wiv outside of boot 4 Kane's 2nd? 🤷🏻♀️
I was born in Nuneaton and grew up in the next town Hinckley. I can remember this. Was amazing knowing as a kid a young lad made it to the prem from Non league Nuneaton.
Been in Stamford quite alot as live near it and know people their so i know the Danish Invader pub but had no idea this guy lived near their!
We were in there on the way to Peterborough at the back end of last season
Top lad, great podcast lads

@@badofcheese Another Boro legend. Should have played football league in my opinion, but was/is Dr so didnt want to make the swap.
David Speedie was the agent.
Was wondering who?
TOP TOP Bloke and podcast this one
Bought himself the replica shirt and wore it at home 😂 Brilliant
I had a run-in with mel outside destiny and elite night club in derby 🤣😂 I’ll never forget his buddy asking me if I knew who he was 😜
Space brothers- forgiven was a belter
tell him to upload the dvd to YT. Love old 90s football vids and their soundtracks
Best eps ever!
What a lovely fella
Brilliant
What a really nice man.
The only footballer I know off that used to drive round burning £50 was
Stewart Downing been told by loads of people about this
I’ll call bull shit on that one
Also Kieran dyer has admitted to this on loads of podcasts
He's apologized for it a few times
Yes lads 👊😎
Who was his agent?
Bel AIr was the night club at The Belfry
Wonder who the agent was, Kevin Bond?
Didn't realise David Brent was a real person
