Thanks, I like these videos :)
Thanks!
Your big effect is gonna be towing in the rain. I noticed it in the rear view mirror, you can see better behind you with them installed. Granted I was pulling a 14 ft trailer on a 40 diesel pusher motor coach so fuel wasn't the main reason for the install. I could have taken the wheels and tires off the trailer and not noticed any fuel difference with a 4oo hp diesel pusher!
Haha. Very true.
They claim 4%, and you got 5.6%. They do work, and they will eventually pay off. (you really need a wind tunnel to accurately test them. driving down the road has far too many variables.)
4-5% is tough to test. That small wind change could have skewed the results that much. I would say almost no improvement.
@@KrebsbachRacing One heavy acceleration, passing truck, or car sitting infront could as well. That's why I said use a wind tunnel - control all of the variables.
I've used these things, and they do help. But they aren't going to double your range or anything.
A V-tail trailer shape would be beneficial on enclosed trailers. Think tear drop trailers. The rear of the trailer has the biggest air drag.
Right. Engineer that real quick. Must be able to still load a car, and have tail lights, etc. Not easy. If so, someone would have done it. Haha
Maybe they will keep the snow from sticking to the back of the trailer?
It might help a little.
1. Airtabs are sold in the US for $2.75 each. A set of 80, enough to go the trailer with spares, is $220. You paid too much. If you do the math, a .6mpg improvement works out to 5.6% which is NOT negligible. It's greater than advertised.
