Hello hello. Thanks for this vid. I have the SAME rattle in my passenger door speaker. This is absolutely this weekend's project. Just a note however, when changing the dash speakers, it MIGHT be a good idea to take the factory capacitor with them as it works as a high pass filter and isolates these speakers from your door speakers as to keep the 4ohm load to keep your stereo happy. I read earlier comments about adding resistors to them, that works too... but I will definitely be keeping the factory capacitors when changing the dash speakers. Thanks again for this video, I had NO idea that I needed mounts for the new speakers as the old ones are permanently attached to the factories.
Thank you for this! Bought the speakers from the link and installed them this weekend. Both door speakers for totally blown out. I had no idea it was so bad. Now the sounds is soooo much better! Thanks for finding the speakers and adapters for us! You made this real easy.

Brandon, I just wanted to say mahalo (thank you) for this video. I just finished swapping out all 6 speakers in my ‘05 xB and your video was instrumental in making the process as smooth as possible. I actually found the front door speakers easier to do than the rear speakers. Here’s what I put in: Front door and rear: Kicker 43DSC6504 DS Series 6-1/2" 2-way car speakers Dash: Kicker 46CSC44 CS Series 4" 2-way car speakers w/ Crutchfield Bass Blockers (150 Hz cut-off) *All purchased from Crutchfield Overall I’m VERY happy with the improvement in sound quality over the POS factory speakers, and it was fun getting into the installation process after watching your video. Thanks again!
If you don't have a adapter 6.5" speakers mount in the hole and you can use the existing holes you drilled the rivets out of and use speed clips and screws.
You can fix the foam surround for just a few bucks but if you have gone to all the trouble to open the doors just spend a few bucks and do the upgrade, you will thank yourself. Great video thanks for posting.
For the record, don't bother unplugging the lock and window plugs. Just gently pull the hard plastic button panel straight up and out of the arm rest, turn it slightly and it will come out of the door without any damage. I fought my driver door and then a coworker showed me this trick!
Just completed the same job on 2005 XB according to your instructions. Bought the same speakers from Amazon. The hardest part was getting the door panels ON. I had a Sears 45 deg drill which was a help as I did not have to disconnect the door panels. I did replace the dash speakers as well and that was pretty easy. I did solder the wires because I had a solder iron. I guess on a scale of difficulty, 5 being the hardest, I would give this a 2.5. Right now the dash speakers are too loud with too much treble. They start to pop if you turn the bass up. I'm looking for resisters now. Just my 2 cents.
Your right, the speakers in the dash are wired in paralell with the door speakers, the factory dashboard speaker not only has a resistor but is also 13 ohm. The two 4 ohm pioneer speakers wired in paralell present a 2 ohm load that will create distortion at high levels and will burn out your head unit.

I've unplugged the dash speakers for now until I can figure out how to make it sound good. Sounds ok with just the door speakers. Having the dash speakers full or even half powered in your face is the main problem I see. I'm just running a powered alpine receiver and a powered subwoofer in the hatchback.
Hey Extreme would you say your a/c blows pretty good? I had a blower motor and squirrel cage replaced and it doesnt seem to blow with the same force as it used to. Thanks for this video ive been needing to replace my speakers for awhile now.
My AC blows strong, however, it doesn't cool well in traffic. You really need to be moving to push air through that AC condenser to really cool the air down. The cars fan controls how strong the air or heat blows.

Great video! Those dash speakers look bigger than the stock ones to me. I would have liked to see a closer and more in-depth shot of the dash install to see that they do fit with no modifications.
nightwishkid1 I have changed out the head unit too. I’m not sure if that answers you question. I’m by no means an expert at this. I have done similar speaker upgrades in the past without any issues.
Extreme Daily Drivers Someone on an xB forum says you just need to add 7-9 ohm resistors to the dash speakers (OEMs are 13ohm and new ones are 4ohm) to restore the power balance between the dash and doors.
This. Without the resistors on the tweeters, they will be too loud and drown out the door speakers. Plus, with 2-ways in the dash without a low-pass filter, it's possible to blow them out with too much bass. My xB has high-pass filters on the door and low-pass on the dash, and I have no complaints, even though they are not audiophile quality
These speakers suck! I just bought these and installed them into my Scion xB and they don’t go very loud, they pop every time the bass hits and the quality is worse than the OEM speakers. Don’t recommend at all.
I will as soon as they start carrying what I need. Also, 99% of the links in my videos come from small businesses that partner with Amazon to sell their products. Thanks for watching!

Hey Manuel, I did not. It was just before I started my channel. However, I did a quick write up on Clubxb.com on what you need.

Extreme Daily Drivers Awesome, thanks
Manuel Salvatierra No prob! Don’t forget to subscribe!
what size tweeters did you use?
4 inch
Extreme Daily Drivers have you done a video about the rear speakers?
what size screws did use
Whatever fit through that hole. Find something that fits through (like a drill bit) and bring it with you to the hardware store.
Thanks a bunch , save me a bunch of time.
"If i said I want you back I'd be a liar" 🎵🎵❤
Ha! I had to look that up, but you nailed it!
Sweet! Keep bumping! 🤘🏼
Thanks! Will do! New speakers, head unit and amp install coming soon!
I can't get door panel back on correctly. .
It's pretty easy. Take your time. If I can do it you can do it. Thanks for watching.

TheToysforboys I love them. I have never found anything better.
What size rivet and bit?
I was about to blast you about that music until you explained lol.
🤣😂 Thanks for watching.
@@ExtremeDailyDrivers bro I have an 04 xB and it’s silver. Going to paint it white and try to get it like how yours was. Inspired
Great music 👍
Thanks!
Which roof racks are those? Does anybody know which racks I can buy for a first gen?
It's an Enno Rack. Thanks for watching!
Does this also work on a Scion 2008 xd
Great video! Those dash speakers look bigger than the stock ones to me. I would have liked to see a closer and more in-depth shot of the dash install to see that they do fit with no modifications.
They fit perfectly. Thanks for watching!
Woohoo!!!
Always looks easy then when you do it big headache lol
If I can do it, you can do it.
Good job 👏 bro , but the 2 speakers 🔊 in the is too much work
The right speaker seems to be bolted down in my 2004
Drill it out.
The dash ones are actually tweeters.watch buying aftermarket Speakers with a raised tweeter,or the cover won't fit.
I gave you a thumbs up. All them tools and not a trim pry tool in the lot...smh.
I always thought that the front corners were tweeters.
They are. I have heard it's better to replace them with 2-way speakers. I'm not an audiophile so I probably would never hear a difference.
Are you worried about the ohm difference? I know the stock systems are very good.
nightwishkid1 I have changed out the head unit too.
My xB has high-pass filters on the door and low-pass on the dash, and I have no complaints, even though they are not audiophile quality
lol this how my oem speakers sound like right now but from my driver side door rattle eww lol time to change it out
Hey I’m having a problem trying to find some daytime running lights that fit in the front bumper pre slots to fit my 2008 xB
Yup. That's what mine looks like... Amazon here I come.

Dont bother to unplug the battery its safe
You may feel a slight tingle. Thanks for watching!
No problem man just remember for next time. I would hate for something bad to happen.
These speakers suck! I just bought these and installed them into my Scion xB and they don’t go very loud, they pop every time the bass hits and the quality is worse than the OEM speakers. Don’t recommend at all.
Sorry to hear that. They are still going strong in my car.
WHY IS YOUR INTRO SO LOUD
TO GET YOU'RE ATTENTION!!! 📢 Thanks for watching!
stop supporting amazon and support local
I will as soon as they start carrying what I need. Also, 99% of the links in my videos come from small businesses that partner with Amazon to sell their products. Thanks for watching!
Visit the clip designer and give them a good working over!! for all of us.
Will do!
I have a 04, what size speakers go in the dash
3.5. Check out my other speaker install video. Just search the channel. Thanks for watching.
Are there no rear speakers in the xB?
There are, but were working fine.
