Thanks you Shane as these cameras are still in play today. We have the DSMC 1 EPIC DRAGON 6K (Standard OLPF) and is almost 10 years old and still rocks. We run it along side our 8K Monstro. RED set the standard, all others coped RED.
I just shot a teaser trailer for my next feature on the RED DRAGON (DSMC1), and boy that cameras image is absolutely stunning. But the black shade will make you cry harder than spilling your milk if you don't do it 🤣🤣. Solid video as always Shane 🙏
@@KARIMYATRIB - Not going to lie, there is just something about that sensor and the image. I know the newer kids on the block boast more for the pixel peepers, but overall I just love the look of the dragon…🤩🤩
@@anthonyrock5039 ua-cam.com/video/53iG32algc8/v-deo.htmlfeature=shared The feature teaser isn’t available online, but this is the trailer to a short I shot on (RED Scarlet Dragon) same camera pretty much.
Incorrect, doesn’t matter if DSMC 1 or 2. What matters is the sensor. DSMC2 can have the dragon sensor from DSMC1s EPIC. Also not 30min to 1h, just until the sensor reaches the temperature that the camera (fans) can achieve. Like 35 Celsius outside, fans won’t be able to hold 39 celsius.

Thanks Shane for the video, it's a pleisure to see u
thank you for this shane
Unless I’m missing something, the dsmc1 dragon body only allows for the manual black shade option, there is no auto?

Do you need to black shade for every shutter speed and fps? I heard that somewhere not sure if its true.
Is there any mod out there where we can use cfexpress to redmag mini? There has to be something.
I have a DSMC3 and that’s not true about not blackshading. You do have to blackshade, just not as often, per Red’s instructions.
Will this help me with my ZV-E10? no, will I still watch? Of course
Does one have to do this with the V Raptor VV or V Raptor XL?
That's DSMC3
No, not required.
Why ever time he say black shade the guy next to him looks like he wants to punch him in the face lol 😂
the first 2 times I heard black shaming 😀
would it work on Red Komodo Cameras?
I'm so glad I own a DSMC3 camera lol

How to Black Shade Your NIKON Camera
What a horrible design to have in a camera
