Just a long term wear update! Today is August 23rd 2022 and my Future Darts are still awesome! For a long time I wore the Future Darts and the Strong Darts almost exclusively. They both look almost brand new still, especially the Strong Darts. Both have been washed and dried in machines many times now and have surpassed all of my expectations! Due to the climate in my region I do get more usage out of my Future Darts vs the Strong Darts. These pants really do deliver day in day out!
So, we need to make some clarifications. I finally managed to buy a pair of slim dungarees during my trip to NY, having them shipped to the hotel (there doesn't seem to be a physical store, or at least I couldn't find one). It's impossible to get them in Europe without paying absurd prices at customs. The positives are indeed the fabric, which is of excellent quality and seems very resistant to dirt, and the cut of the pants, which are rather nice and fit the body very well. But be careful because they fit one size smaller than stated; I normally wear a 32, but this size is quite tight on me, considering that I am quite slim and have a narrow waist. As for the widely advertised comfort, it's all based on the cut that leaves a bit of space in strategic points, but they are NOT stretchy at all, or at least not more than a normal pair of pants. In my opinion, they can be a good pair of versatile pants, but if you're primarily looking for comfort, look elsewhere.
Yeah, I agree with you. I still love my Future Darts but what they max out in durability they do sacrifice a little comfort. Last year I got a pair of Uniqlo Ankle trousers and they are amazing! Especially for the price, I recently went on a week work trip and only packed my Future darts and Uniqlo ankle pants. I found myself once again gravitating toward the Uniqlo most days for comfort alone. I haven’t had any problems with the UNiqlo parts but the material is definitely not as durable feeling as the Outlier FD. That being said I still think the UNiqlo ankle pants are a fantastic bargain and will work great for most people. The Outlier Future Darts are Overkill and probably better suited to people who need maximum durability and versatility.

I might make a review of the New Way shorts in the spring. I have been wearing them for two years now and they are brilliant.

Dude great review- thanks ! For years I’ve been looking for a review of this brand’s products, thought about doing it myself. I have some slim dungarees and their great for anything your doing in the fall where they might take abrasion. I had mine tapered for about 14 bucks and they fit perfect.
Just ordered a pair of futureslimworks. Have been on the hunt for the ultimate travel/daily pant and have tried many. Hopefully these are not “swooshy” and fit. So far the best pair I’ve found is Bluffworks gramercy, but they are fairly dressy. Thank you for the great review.
I haven’t heard of those, I will take a look at them. I have been wearing almost exclusively Outlier pants for a while now and I am very happy with my Dart cut trousers. The material is amazing and the fit is perfect for me no alteration needed. I wish outlier would make the slim dungarees with a leaner cut and black liner on the inside but, I guess we all have to wait and see what they release this year. Oh and i tried the future slim works. They are similar to the Darts but more of a straight cut instead of the aggressive taper of the Darts. I’m sure they will work great for a taller person with bigger legs our those that desire a more relaxed fit.

They are very different the Dungarees are like mid rise jeans and the Darts are more like proper trousers…. If that makes sense. I personally find the darts much more comfortable.
For some reason the 28 fit me better vs the 29, It’s interesting because, in the New Way shorts I also had a 28, that was too tight so I sized up to a 30, way too big and eventually got a 29 in the shorts. They are both the same material but sizing is slightly different.

Thank you!! Saved me so much money. I’m 5”7, but athletic and I need something super skinny and stretchy and I don’t think these would suit someone my height.
No worries glad the vlog saved you some time and money! You might prefer the FutureDarts. Also keep in mind Outlier has a 45 day return policy, so you can order a few styles try them and keep the items that work for you. FutureDarts are a much lighter summer type material. The material breathes very good and has a very noticeable amount of stretch. This stretch and light weight material make the FutureDarts very comfortable, almost comfortable enough to sleep in. I just used them as my only pants on a 4 day trip to Miami and they worked great, no smells, no stains and very comfortable on the Airplane , TSA lines etc. The StrongDarts on the other hand are my go to winter pants. I can wear then during warmer months but they do not have the stretch and feather weight feel of the FutureDarts. When worn back to back the StrongDarts in comparison to the FutureDarts definitely feel more constricting but still very comfortable, especially compared to denim. I have also traveled in the StrongDarts and they are awesome. With the deep and generous pockets, I have yet to have anything fall out of them. I do not have any rips or loose strings in any of my Outlier pants and I wear them almost 7 days a week. Both pants exceeded my expectations by a long shot so far. Oh and the DWR is amazing on both during light rain showers. I have been so impressed with these Outlier garments and have purchased a few more items. Yet to review are the StrongShank Jacket, The Submarine 3 Bar Cap and the New Way Shorts. I’m using them now and will make some reviews once I gather my thoughts. Thanks for watching hope this helps. It is funny that you ask. I’m actually trying on a pair right now. I feel like they are trendy, stylish and comfortable. I ordered a size 29 and they fit perfect around the waist but a little long. Surprisingly I really like these pants and I am having a hard time deciding if I should send them back to Outlier. They look like a combination of Snowboarding pants and trousers mixed together in the best ways imaginable. Thank I really feel like a super stylish trendy person would get the most of out this cut. For me I’m trying to decide if its a bit too trendy. I really like them with my low top shoes but they also work with my high tops, but for my personal taste to a lesser degree. The material is awesome, very reminiscent of strong dungarees. I feel like these pants would be great for cold winter months because of the extra volume in the design you can layer them with no problems. When I say trendy I mean the grand dad look all the high fashion labels/influencers are rocking right now. I love the Bomb Works but for me the Bomb Dungarees might be more “timeless”… IDK I know nothing about fashion lol.
Thank you, I wanted to love the SDs but I’m not as much of a fan of 5 pocket designs as I used to be. I’ve been rocking both of my Darts back to back continuously now for probably a year now and they never disappoint. They both look almost brand new and are very comfortable in a wide array of climates and social settings. Definitely money well spent.
