- Pants are great aren’t they? It is not secret that I am a big fan of Western Rise and pretty much everything they offer. My favorite type of clothing from them is hands down their pant collection! Because picking the right pair can be tricky sometimes this video is here to make that decision a little easier!

Hey! I forgot to add my measurement! I am 5’8 and 170lbs wearing a size 32!
Nice overview. Diversions have been my travel day pants for a while now. Stretchy but tough awesomeness. I also have the AT Slims for a change up -they remind me a bit of Strong Dungarees from Outlier. The only downside I have with Western Rise's pants is that the black isn't that black -more like a charcoal. For this reason, if I want to really go blackout, I grab the Slim Dungarees.
Bought a pair of pants from your link!
Have gradually been becoming a huge fan of many of your videos, I think a lot of it has to do with your enthusiasm, plus the gear you review interests me.
While I am trying hard, it is a very slow process and I am still easily about two sizes away from Western Rise fitting me. I fully appreciate they are a small company and limited on what they do, that said really hoping they can come out with more sizes or extended sizes! Much thanks!
Are you reviewing the classic fit or the slim fit in this video?
I found this video trying to figure out which of their pants to order. Western Rise does NOT make this easy. 😆
Evolution 2.0 no longer exist, did they become the Evolution pants? I assume so.
Early 2025 might be time for an updated version of this video. Great work!
Do the divergent pants pack well from a space saving perspective
Thank you for the info. Which is a slimmer fit between the Diversion and the Evolution. Thanks
I know this will across as a very cheap question, especially since you’re already including a discount code in your video, but do you know how often Western Rise has sales? And, if there are any to look out for?
Hmm thinking 3 evos 2.0 and 1 western rise as a jean like pant for pant rougher reasons hmm...
Do you size up in evolution pant and chino? I’m always a 32 and the diversion 32 is too tight. About to buy some and want to get the right size.
Great vid 👌🏻
Hmm I’m a 32 in every pant they offer. I typically don’t size up except the diversion sometimes to a 33.
@@OdieMatthews ok cool thanks. I’ll try that
Love the content you're putting out, especially on Western Rise. I've been using the Evolution 1.0 for three years and they've worked pretty well. I'm about to head to a warm Asian climate and plan to use them a lot. Worth upgrading to the Evo 2.0?
Hey! Thanks so much for the kind words 🙌🏻 and yeah honestly I would say so. I like them so much more than the 1.0’s mainly because the fabric just feels better. Might be worth getting the boundless shorts instead though. My personal favorite and I’ll be using them on my cruise this year!
@@OdieMatthews Good call on the Evo shorts. I was looking at a new pair of Evolution 1.0 shorts for $50 or the 2.0 for $98 (+15% off with your code). I'm thinking the 4-way stretch is probably worth the extra money for the latest version.
Always happy to help! If you get them let me know how they do! It’ll be my first time using them in a climate like the Bahamas.
@@OdieMatthews you prefer the boundless to the evolution shorts? What are the pros/cons of each?
Would you recommend the AT Slim as a Autumn and Winter pant, if I have a pair of longjohns underneath? I have the Diversion and it's really good, but want to buy the AT Slim if it's more windproof. :)
Why wouldn't you recommend the Diversion pants for travel?
To me their a little thick for travel. Packing them for cooler climates would totally work but wearing on a plane I would take the Evolution pants all day.
Helpful video, I have been on the fence on those pants for a while.
Do you end up getting them hemmed or altered at all?
Suggestion for future clothing videos might be to include height/weight/waist/inseam for reference.
I didn’t need to get them altered and I wear a 32 and am 5’8 170lbs. I usually add that and it slipped my mind! Good call out 🙌🏻
@@OdieMatthews Thanks, dude! 5'7/155 here. It's always a nice surprise when I don't have to get pants hemmed.
I've been liking Bonobos since they offer a few different fits and inseams for reasonable prices. But, the Western Rise options definitely look more versatile and less obviously "athleisure"/less like golf pants.
@@OdieMatthews Are you buying a 30” length or the standard 32/34? I’m 6’ and I need to roll the 32 but haven’t tried a 30 length yet. I know it’s only available on a few of the pants.
I am buying the standard 32/24 because for me they roll perfectly 😅
you messed me up Odie lol. Where you live and where I live are two completely different climates clearly those divergent pants fit amazing but dang are they hot down here in the southeast
Ooo as someone who lived in Florida for way to long I completely understand that pain 🥲
????????
If you came across these in the wild at a resell shop, how can you identify the style? I found a pair but I don't know which style I have? Is there unique id's between them on the tag somewhere? TIA :)
whats the fit difference between the AT and the diversions
Do the diversion pants have that nylon “swooshing” sound? I try to lean towards more cotton based pants like the lululemon abcs as I don’t like the feel or sound of nylon constructed pants
Don’t joke about “mini strokes” brother. You’re a sharp young guy. AND this was a great video tutorial on WR pants. I’m a guy in late 60s….I run, hike, bike, retired Navy Officer AND a retired Federal law enforcement Park Ranger. You do a nice job ….just watch the “stroke jokes”. Typically I am not overly sensitive to such, but I know that there are guys my age that are. I’ve had three cryptogenic strokes…..some of the best cardiologists and neurologists in the country still can’t figure out why. I have a quick question….do you wear your pants longer than your actual inseam size? Still, regardless….you do a great presentation, young man. I wish you only the very best! And Western Rise? I own three pair…..I prefer slim cut, because I still can! Have you tried any of BYLT pants? Just curious, is all. Again, my best to you…..Bravo Zulu, on this video……a job well done!
How are the waists for comfort ?
I find a lot of pants not forgiving enough in the waist.
I usually have the same issue but these not as much. The stretch is just enough as I wear a 32 in everything but these feel the best. The waists on the shorts are incredible.
@@OdieMatthews thank you !
