I think a recurring element in this movie is people not realizing who/what they're messing with. From thinking that restaurant patrons are all going to be easy targets, to thinking you're smart enough to double-cross a "business partner", to thinking a boxer is "washed-up" and will do anything you tell him to, to snorting another person's drugs, to thinking you'll have your way with random people who come to your pawn shop, to refusing to acknowledge God after He saves your life.
Nice take. I like the redemption arcs of the two of the main characters. Butch decides to go back and save Marcellus and Jewels because of the miracle gives up the gangsta life, while Vincent doesn't and as a result dies.
I think the moral that Vincent didn't learn was to ease up on the junk and get some fiber in his diet, cuz bad things always seem happen while he's spending so much time in the bathroom!
The reason that Mia, a cokehead, didn't realize Vincent's bag contained heroin is that it was packaged wrong. Heroin is traditionally sold in balloons to differentiate it from other drugs, whereas coke is usually packaged in baggies. When Lance was selling Vince the stuff, he mentioned he was out of balloons and was it okay if he gave it to him in a baggie? Vince says okay, and that was the source of the confusion that started that insane chain of events.
I enjoyed ur reaction and the fact that you don't over-talk them. I'm retired and exist at a nursing home on $75 a month so I can't afford Patreon otherwise I would...two things - Jimmy was played by Quinton T. if u weren't aware also requesting 'NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN' by the Coen Bros. Random notes: * They didn’t win the dance, they stole the trophy. * Butch is most likely who keyed Vincent’s car because of Vincent’s insults in the bar. * Marcellus is sitting on Butch’s apartment with Vincent because Jules quit. They didn’t really expect him to come back, that’s why Marcellus was getting donuts and Vincent on the can. * Heroin causes constipation which is why Vincent is frequently in the bathroom
The chemistry between John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson was just insane. It doesn’t even sound scripted. There’s some really good actors in this movie but every time they are on the screen, you’re just riveted to their conversation and dialogue.
Here’s a thing: you may recall that in the Star Wars prequels, Mace Windu (Samuel Jackson) had a purple lightsaber. Jackson tells a story about how he asked for his saber to be purple so you could tell where he was in the fight scenes. /And/, at least one of his lightsaber props actually had BMF engraved on it, which is a callback to his wallet in this film.
Truly a classic movie! My favorite Tarantino film! The nonlinear way of telling the story is what got me. What's fun is if you go back and watch it again there are so many more things you'll notice that happen in other parts of the movie. For example, at the beginning, when Ringo and Hunny Bunny are talking about holding up the diner, if you put headphones on (or if you have a surround sound system), listen really closely to the background chatter and you can hear certain bits Vince and Jules conversation about divine intervention. Great movie! Love your reactions!
I love watching people check in to this film. It is amazing I used to watch it every time it came on cable. Great react lady. Oh, by the way, I have one of those Bad Mother F... watches. Got it back in the day. As we say in Texas; y'all be safe.
Shows a bit of Tarantinos moral values compass. Jules who had his epiphany after what he saw as divine intervention, quits being a hitman and survives the story. Vincent who doesn't change his ways, has to die miserably in the bathroom.
Mia snorted the heroin thinking it was cocaine, that´s the detoning to had the overdose (heroin can be snorted as well, but the most common way it´s like Vincent did, using a needle. Also Mia was quite drugged in that moment). And Vincent goes a lot to the bath, due to he´s an heroin addict, and that provokes you, sometimes, constipation. Even the shot to Marvin´s face, it´s due to heroin, that also provokes you spasms (in this case pulling the trigger).
This film has numerous delightful details, including rhymes: Vince and Jules both spend $1,500. Butch sequentially deals with two women who are brunette, barefoot and have foreign accents. Butch is on his way to Tennessee and stands in front of a Tennessee license plate in the pawn shop. Also, Butch's fight features two guys with the names of two U.S. presidents. And on it goes.
"I gotta stab her three times?!" The OD scene is dark comedy gold (because Mia survives😅). Poor Uma Thurman being dragged around like a ragdoll while everyone loses their minds 🤣🤣🤣
Brilliant reaction! You are a treasure! You are so smart and observant, and I am so impressed with your intelligent comments. This movie is a masterpiece.

If you listen closely when Butch is going to his apartment to get the watch you can overhear a car radio saying the Jackrabbit Slims dance trophy was robbed. Hinting that Mia and Vince lost but by god she said she wanted the trophy 😂
I went to Paris right after seeing this and sure enough, I saw the Royale with cheese for sale, beer in the soda fountains and yes, they gave me mayo. Regarding the music, Tarantino is a 70s movie and music encyclopedia
6:04 everyone wonders what's in the case. What Tarantino put in that case was the ultimate MacGuffin For those of you who don't know a MacGuffin is; an object, event, or character in a film or story that serves to set and keep the plot in motion despite usually lacking intrinsic importance. And the object in the briefcase is important for the plot but what exactly it is, is so unimportant we never find out what it is in the first place. Lost in Translation opened my mind to indies, but I discovered this shortly after I started catching up on stuff I missed from in that realm and I have to say, it helped to the cause considerably. The reason Lance freaks out when he realises Vince is calling him on a cellular phone, is because back in the day mobile phone networks were analogue and you could listen in on calls with a scanner, so drug dealers had to be careful using them as the police could easily be listening.
The reason nobody heard the machinegun fire when Vincent 'bought the farm' was because the weapon had a silencer. That fat round thing on the front. And of course via 'hollywood' sound design they always make them too quiet. The bullet leaving the barrel was surely exceeding the speed of sound and that is what produces much of the 'bang' sound. Then again they are supposed to be' 'professionals' so they might have been using 'sub-sonic' ammo.

*In Butch and Fabienne´s bed scene, she told him twice about she´s pregnant, in a subtle way... but he didn´t realize. *When Vincent talks the drug dealer about his scratched car, the car was scratched by Butch... after they met in that tense meeting in the bar.

The only thing I disagree with you is about the acting. They are all fantastic except Quentin himself, lol! One thing to think about is when this movie came out, the non-linear nature of the time jumping really wasn’t done a lot and was pretty novel.

The significance of Butch saving Marcellus from an unthinkable fate is he knew he was a cheat and despite his determination to get the watch back, he didn’t think he earned the honour of owning the watch, no matter how goofy its backstory may have been.
