As of right now, TechTree has 77 subscribers Let's see what the future holds for this channel that' definitely not a side project for a bigger channel... Excited to see where this'll lead :D
Nice! I got some recommendations for this series immediately: Spanish Tercios (One of the first effective uses of gunpowder small arms in Europe) and Swedish Carolingians (Basically the first use of combined arms).
TIL that "Greek fire" and "napalm" are the same substance. And also that it was probably the inspiration for the stuff known as "blazebalm", "liquid fire", or "battlefire" in various books by one of my favorite fantasy authors.
OP, I really dig your videos and am looking forward to the series. I do hope you follow the advice of some people here and start plugging this channel on tier zoo so that more people can find it. If you had a "super thanks" thing on your videos, I'd love to throw a few bucks your way for the content
The Byzantines actually had better infantry on par. However, the Arabs were more naturally belt for deserts and used horses more suited towards them. It’s more of a thing versus specialization versus non-specialized infantry.
this stuff is actually so helpful for my TTRPG game, so thanks a lot. As an ignorant I would've love if you talked about the countermeasures like armor and coatings used against greek fire, but I guess the video was just on point like this
I do remember reading about the Greeks making clothing from a white substance they called "salamander fur" because it was completely fireproof despite being fibrous. The source I had read made it sound like the stuff was fairly rare and expensive at the time, which was probably a good thing because it was actually Asbestos and can shred people's lungs from the inside out. Not sure if that's what the various empires in this video tried using, but it seems likely.
Love this! Instantly subscribed. Btw, what specifically was the reference with "safe allah" general unit? I couldn't tell if it was like a historical name that just got CC'd incorrectly (asaif? sheikh?) or if like you were translating a phrase/battlecry about being under divine protection because of the caliphate employing a religious justification for military expansion
Great video but one thing, you did make it sound like the Arabs first fought against the weak Persians and after completely finishing that war moved on to the Byzantines. In reality they fought both at the same time and were almost always heavily outnumbered and out equiped in the battles.
Kievan Rus: word has it that the Byzantines has some fancy fire weapon. Olga of Kiev watching Iskorosten burn: they don't know the meaning of the word fire...

Early to a future GOAT of a channel ❤🔥
Tierzoo but with history, it was all I needed
That's great, thanks you. I hope you'll keep doing
an informative channel that teaches history using gaming terms
I"M IN!!!
Oh god TierZoo went history mode
This was excellent, very educational too
TIL that "Greek fire" and "napalm" are the same substance.
And also that it was probably the inspiration for the stuff known as "blazebalm", "liquid fire", or "battlefire" in various books by one of my favorite fantasy authors.
Or something else
TIERZOO HAS ANOTHER CHANNEL?!
Dude, how have you not advertised this channel on TierZoo yet?
Your videos look pretty amazing man
OP, I really dig your videos and am looking forward to the series. I do hope you follow the advice of some people here and start plugging this channel on tier zoo so that more people can find it. Bro dropped bangers and then ditched.
This is amazing!
Here as Subscriber 524, can't wait to see this channel explode
This video is so good it's better than oversimplified
I've a feeling I'll keep coming back to this masterpiece 🗡️
this stuff is actually so helpful for my TTRPG game, so thanks a lot.
As an ignorant I would've love if you talked about the countermeasures like armor and coatings used against greek fire, but I guess the video was just on point like this

This channel is going to explode

at 0:55 was Irland part of the roman empire?
No but they were under the influence.
I spent the first 90 sec rattling my brain to figure out why the voice felt familiar.
thouht i would watch a video from a channel with million subs and views. Great work! Soon will be rewarded trust me
Fun way to learn history.

Does anybody what name of the song in the background

Oversimplified subbed to you!
Here from the start
But how does this apply to me being terrible at Civ 6
romans did mount ballistas and scorpios as launch projectiles for greek fire grenades
Sounds like a secret hell.
even The Second Lateran Council accused the Byzantine player of using mod.
was bout to comment "bros trying to be tier zoo" then I realised it is tier zoo
Wait, did Tear Zoo actually make a history channel or am I just a stupid fool?
Cool video
Great video but one thing, you did make it sound like the Arabs first fought against the weak Persians and after completely finishing that war moved on to the Byzantines. In reality they fought both at the same time and were almost always heavily outnumbered and out equiped in the battles.
Yeah, it seems even TechTree can't get everything right.
Kievan Rus: word has it that the Byzantines has some fancy fire weapon.
Olga of Kiev watching Iskorosten burn: they don't know the meaning of the word fire...
tierzoo but with tech?????????
Iam surprised you didn't mention how Chola faction in the Indian server also used Greek Fire during their own conquests
The byzantines really said
Call an ambulance…but not for me
What's going on with tier zoo? We need more content
This voice is familiar... Where did i heard it? 🤔
TierZoo, if I'm not mistaken!
Please make more videos
