I started wearing my brown scapular about 5 days (maybe) before listening to this video. I stopped wearing it in the past because it got tangled in my necklaces. I tried wearing them months ago but my guinea pig would chew through cord in less than 10 seconds when I would pick her up and hold her. Then I tied a knot in my brown scapular, like my church explained to keep it on on us in case we ever get into an accident and the brown scapular wouldn't come off of our necks that way...and my guinea pig stopped chewing through it since then. Now I wear all the time (except for bathing) and if my necklaces get tangled in them I just untangle them. To wear the brown scapular is one the most important of things that I wear now. This video has inspired to keep wearing it.

I used to take my rosary off to take a shower or bath but now I keep it on even in the shower. If it wears out faster that way then just get a new one. And don't let them take it off of you if you're at the hospital. If you're unconscious hopefully someone can advocate for you and tell them not to take it off.

As a post-script, I would like to add that Pope John Paul the Second adhered to the teachings of the Church. He never taught that everyone would go to heaven as that has never been the position of the Church. The CC has always affirmed the existence of heaven, hell and purgatory and I have never seen in its teachings a pronouncement of universal salvation.
I thought the same thing. And then I researched. This is Bishop DANIAL Dolan. He is a sedevactist. He suggests that the Chair of Peter has been vacated since Vatican II. This means he is a heretic.

I totally agree. Bishop Dolan is spot on teaching about the brown Scapular but why does he have to tell a lie about the great John PAUL 2?
JP2 and the church never said that everyone is going to heaven but unfortunately there are more and more priests and bishops saying that these days.
BN Koleszar but JP2 did put allow a Buddha to go on top of the tabernacle in Assisi (1 priest yelled out no don't do that he was removed)and JP2 was the one who started all the religions coming to pray together to pray.Actions speak louder than words

In order for a person to give someone else a Brown Scapular does it need to be blessed if the other person isn't enrolled in the Brown Scapular? I just went back to wearing mine because I heard it's the cloth of our Blessed Mother. It's important to say the short prayer of the Brown Scapular everyday. Thank you Bishop Dolan for doing a sermon on this subject.
I believe if you are enrolled then it doesn't need to be blessed. If you aren't then it should be blessed. Non-Catholics aren't supposed to wear it but you can give them the green scapular. Listen to the sermon on the green scapular.
Mr. McBride, If one is enrolled in the Brown Scapular - by a valid priest, mind you - then the scapular itself need not be blessed. The first one is blessed at enrollment. Subsequent ones it is not required.
Bishop Dolan, Thank you so much!!! Will the Blessed Mother still come on the first Saturday to take the person to Heaven even if the person conducting cremation took off their scapular? Also, I did not know this information and I prayed the rosary by the bedside of my family who passed away but did not know I was to put the scapular on them. Would they still have recieved the grace to go to heaven with the Blessed Mother on that first Saturday, because we were innocent and did not know? We are devout Catholics but do not know so many wonderful things such as this homily you have just given!! Please answer my questions and may GOD continue to bless you & thank you for helping us get to Heaven too!
Bishop Dolan, I really enjoyed your stories and history connected to the scapular. My scapular never comes off.
This week, my parish priest said my boys (nor any child receiving First Communion) will not receive a brown scapular since they can't meet the requirements of the daily rosary, etc.
This is a new policy in my church...(novus ordo) although, I also attend a weekly Tridentine mass at another church. Is the Rosary required in order for children and non- Catholics to receive those graces? Thank you for your answer, guidance and faithfulness!
I know you wanted his excellency to answer this but, I think I can help you out the rosary is not required for the brown scapular only to wear it and to be enrolled in it is required to receive this grace.
Though Bishop Dolan said something about saying the Rosary once a day God knows that the boys your mentioning can't say the Rosary yet and understands. Everyone, no matter what age, should wear a brown scapular. There are even children's scapulars. If the kids can't be enrolled in the brown scapular for whatever reason then they should at least wear a brown scapular that has been blessed by a priest.
Rosary is the condition for the indulgence attached to it.
It has been my understanding that there are three requirements of the brown scapular. These are Perpetual promises that you make when you enroll in the brown scapular. One is daily recitation of the Rosary. 2 is daily recitation of the little office of Mary. 3 is to remain in a state of grace. The second requirement can be dispensed from by a priest. As far as children are concerned I don't know if wearing it is sufficient until they reach the age of being able to do a daily recitation of the Rosary. But honestly children can do that at a very early age particularly if their parents do it with them. So just make it a practice to do a family daily rosary and that way even the littlest of children can participate in some way. There's also an Indulgence attached to public recitation of the Rosary so if you do it as a family you get that additional Indulgence.
Newsflash; none of these pointless rituals matter so do whatever you want.
Although prots claim 2 have a "Personal relationship" with Jesus, there is absolutely nothing personal about ink on paper. Jesus has appeared 2 us PERSONALLY for 2000 years, fed us with the BREAD of LIFE, shared his loving mother with us and given us gifts like the brown scapular and other sacramental, tangible gifts to help us on our journey. Now THAT'S PERSONAL!!!! There is nothing personal abt the prot church it comes from MEN & is an imposter religion & faith

I am enrolled in the brown scapular but theres something I don't understand, when I received my first scapular, it was blessed but when it wears out,and it's time to get a new one, do I just get a new one and put it on or should I have it blessed before putting it on ?
After enrolled, you do not need to bless any more replacement scapulars to continue enrollment in the brown scapular.. However you can certainly have them blessed if you want.. Just make sure you dispose of the old ones respectfully, preferably burn them or else bury them
This has answered some questions for me.
As I understand it all you need to do is get a new scapular and the new one doesn't have to be blessed. (The old one would need to be burned or buried )
I'm not sure why the confusion but here is what I have learned. When you get a new scapular you do need to have it blessed however it is a simple blessing not the blessing of enrollment. Another words you do not need to be re-enrolled you just have the object itself blessed. Your enrollment is perpetual.
But you have to be enrolled before you can wear it, from what I understand, but he didn't mention anything about that ...
He did mention it but not directly when he was telling the story about the man who was wearing the brown scapular that the nuns gave to him? Thus asking him if he wants to become a Catholic? I would assume if a nun gives you a scapular in the hospital and asked you to wear it you're automatically enrolled? Also it depends on the circumstance? If it's an emergency then I would assume you wouldn't need to be enrolled. Now if your a Catholic just strolling around not wearing the brown scapular? Then yes you can get enrolled but it is also a very little feat that takes place through a priest or nun. So in a matter of speaking, the enrollment part is not as necessary as you think. It is more to believe in it and wear it, enrolled or not, then not believe in it and wear it? Our family in Heaven Knows their intentions and their hearts. God bless
@@cordaserratapando907 No, there are specific requirements you must fulfill to reap the benefits of the scapular. You cannot just pick it up and start wearing it and expect to be protected. Our Lady specifically said you must do what she asked : What are the requirements for obtaining the Sabbatine Privilege?
1.To wear the Brown Scapular continuously.
2.To observe chastity according to one’s state in life.
3.The daily recitation of the Little Office of the Blessed Virgin Mary OR to abstain from meat on Wednesdays and Saturdays OR with the permission of a priest say 5 decades of the Holy Rosary.

This is a talk given by sedevacantist "bishop" Dolan who is a member of the Pope Pius V Society. Sedevacantist means that they do not recognize the Popes elected to the See of Peter post-Vatican II (sede vacante...ie the chair is empty). This particular group split from the Pope Pius X Society. If you are a practicing Catholic, please note that both of these groups are not in union with Rome and have been excommunicated. The Brown Scapular is a beautiful practice; following sedevacantist priests, however, is dangerous as they are heretical.

Problem is what was in operation first the bible or the church, which church gave you the bible ? Did you know the books protestants call Apocrypha were used untill the 1000s by jews. I did my research while a Protestant and was lead to the Catholic church and God healed me. You will find Protestantism is flawed ones you discover the history of the Church. To understand history is to cease being protestant.
You are aware I hope that the only way to eternal salvation is the Catholic church. It is the only church established by God, not a man.
