Americans have a huge salt problem. Like everything has a overload of sodium like one Campbell's soup has nearly your entire dose of salt because that can of soup is considered two servings. Who's splitting a can of soup in half? No one. Wish companies wouldn't put so much fucking salt to their food. It should be unsalted and we can add salt as we feel necessary.

Sodium Triphosphate is actually an alkaline chemical. It has many uses, but I imagine in Captain Crunch it probably gets used in Nixtamalization, which is a process if cooking corn in an alkaline solution, which breaks down the plant cells unlocking more of corn's nutritional value.

Used to have golden graham's too but they just sorta fell off the planet somewhere in the UK and raisin bran is just like fruit and fibre or whatever its called

It’s interesting to see their reaction to our cereals. They make a good point about how we expect kids to eat so much sugar just for breakfast instead of something at least a little healthier like idk oatmeal or something.
I think my favorites when I was a kid was Honey Nut Cheerios, special k with freeze dried strawberries, and maybe Cinnamon Toast Crunch every now and then

Yeah I know what you're talking about, Ecuador is probably the most ethical source of chocolate and quite good too.
I remember being a kid and really liking the cacao pods and liking them.
I can say for sure that Chris was right about what cereals the UK has (as in their own versions of).
All of the cereals with the white label in the corner, that are made for the UK market, are made by Nestle.
So, the UK definitely has its own version of Golden Grahams, Raisin Bran, Frosted Flakes (Frosties = UK Name), Frosted Mini Wheats (Frosted Wheats = UK name), Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Curiously Cinnomon =UK name), Krave, Honey Nut Cheerios... The UK versions have different ingredients and different taste, mainly because of the stricter UK food regulations and different market tastes/palate.

I almost forgot about Krave! I didn't know it was still around! I stopped eating cereal many years ago since it was basically the only thing we ever ate as kids since my parents never cooked. I've had all of those.

you don't even have to do anything to get fat here. Most food is so bad for you it's difficult to stay in shape even if you exercise and try to stay healthy.
Subway's bread has so much sugar in it an Irish court ruled it can't even be called bread. I exercise and try to eat healthy, but half the time it feels like the guy from greek mythology rolling a giant bolder up a hill.

@@l0sts0ul89 I do make my own food when I can but I'm a college student so that's not always a possibility. My point is everything is bad for you here at least in comparison to other countries. Not to mention more expensive, healthy food in America is generally more expensive than junk food.
Sure this is the case in most places these days but it's far more extreme here. If Connor ate here like he does in Japan he would look like nicado avocado before long.
I think the fact that a court says that subways bread can't legally be considered bread because of the sugar content says a lot. It's no accident we have some of the highest obesity rates in the world.
Obesity will always be an issue to some degree but living here actively makes it worse.

I think for some of these, they aren't really understanding that the more oats and gluten a cereal has, the more sugar it will have as well, not just the sugar they add to the box. Especially when Ludwig was talking about the Cracken Oats, he kept saying that they were tricked by how much sugar was added to the cereal but that isn't exactly right. As someone who had to watch my sugars for a while, I know its the gluten and hidden sugars in oats and other startchy foods that you got to watch out for when counting sugar too.
Mostly you should just look at the "added sugars". The total carbohydrate includes fiber too.

"No cholesterol" is just marketing. Most cereals are totally plant based and cholesterol is present only in animal-based products. Unless the USA producers been using lard or butter to make those, it would never have cholesterol, but carbs, sugars, they would have plenty anyways, since most of them are made from corn and rice, which are mostly starch.
