So… fungus? possibly, this could be a predator of the Psilocybin Tardipig? Our lore runs deep! Either way, what a gorgeous creature! Love the colour and kingfisher vibe!
Great look. In my world the main distinction between Gryphons and Hippogryphs is that gryphons are birds fused carnivorous mammals while hippogryphs are birds fused with herbivorous mammals. I would like to see you do a Fog Giant
@@ArcaneForge I'd also like to suggest Klurichir for your list! With Molydeus, these old edition demons are some of the few who are powerful enought to bully balors and devisl actually fear to face these buggers during the blood war.
Absolutely LOVE that Kingfisher colouration! It’s inspired me to put them into my world’s Feywild woodlands as potential mounts for my Players! Beautiful art, as always!
(Forgot it’s Monday until I saw this!) Beholding the newborn foal, the lord of madness smiled as its lamia beloved coddled this infantile creature. “I trust you’ve adopted the exotic cretin?” It inquired charmingly. “Nothing will stop me from having this gem!” Said the masculine creature, ursine claws dug deep in soil while its hind limbs were ready to lift it off the ground in case of a fight
Given how dangerous Hippos are, I'd be terrified of a Hippo-based Hippogriff/Griffon! Love how the kingfisher head suits your plan of bird superimposed over horse, too! brilliant, as always!
Utterly knocked this one out of the park! For monster recommendations, I’d love to see your interpretation of a Wood Woad, a criminally under appreciated Plant monster in Volo’s Guide with some very interesting lore about them! Keep up the great work!
Great video. Concerning the diet, D&D Manuel's generally describe hippogriffs as omnivores like bears, raccoons, or foxes, which makes a lot of sense they are a fusion of a bird of prey with a herbivorous mammal. In my own head cannon, they would prefer mainly creatures like rabbits, hares kackalopes or coneys, some times killing young bison or mountain goats. For plant foods they eat whatever a horse eats. And just as griffons are obcessed with eating horseflesh, hippogriffs have a similar fondness-for apples. Infact the few times wild hippogriff attack humanoids are usually when the latter are trying to prevent them from raiding a apple orchard.
This is a beautiful illustration; the wings are especially pretty. I've always had a bit of a soft spot for these creatures. It would be nice having a flying mount that you could leave around your kids without coming back to find that you now have fewer of them. 😄
This was fantastic and I think the Kingfisher look suits them well. Still a predator but something more tame by comparison. Gives you free reign to play with the colors as well which is always a good time.
Oh I almost forgot my Monster Suggestion for today: whenever you are in the mood for another animal hybrid, my DM recently introduced Zouyu to us and I fell in love. they are fast, regal and quite colorful which should suit your artwork very well. They are the last monster in the Tome of Beasts 2 by Kobold Press.
I really need to see a hippo griffin hybrid now too, I could see this one of 2 ways a vulture hippo or oddly enough a penguin hippo, that way it can fly through the sea and not the skies 😉 also great work as always!
Love your work 👍🙏🤩 and love the races, beast and creatures of pathfinder/ d&d. First time looking at them was at two books talking about the dragons/ monsters of the world before getting the monster manuals and using them for acting out my ideas using paper 😅 . By the way, could draw creatures from spelljamer/ dragonlance such as the giff, draconian, tinker gnomes , scro and gensai?

Excellent call on both the Fog giant and the gryphon distinction!
Molydeus is the only monster that doesn't have art in 5e. I'd very much like to see it in your style.
That definitely sounds like a great challenge! Thanks for the suggestion, Noam!

Thanks so much Crafty!
You just knock it out of the park each and every time.
Thank you so much Aldrin. Your comments are always so lovely!
Could you do an episode on wyverns?
I would LOVE to do an episode on wyverns!
The Kingfisher aspect was totally perfect! The colours especially just took it to a whole new level! Fantastic work as always ^-^
Thank you so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed it :)
Would you be able to draw a Catoblepas? You mentioned them in your Gorgon video, but I want to see you draw one. Thank you!
I would absolutely LOVE to draw a Catoblepas! They have some great lore too. Thank you for the suggestion!
Great work on the art! I love the blue color scheme!
You also made me want to think on my hippogriff lore, which I hadn't done in a while.
I'm so glad on all accounts! Thank you so much for watching!
Good Evening Josh! This is awesome. I would like to be the first person to request the Hippo-Griff, the hippopotamus monster you mentioned
Yuuuus! I can't wait to start that boi up!!! Thank you Githyanki!

Lol I'm feeling very "Truman Show" now :P
I've never read Harry Potter? Why is it problematic? Or is it so bad that it can't even be mentioned on UA-cam?
Oh, no, they're really great books, just the author is incredibly transphobic and has said some really awful things over the past few years.
