  • Filmed in 8mm by Mrs Alice Price of Biddulph and kindly offered for publication by her daughter-in-law Mrs Gwenne Price, this shows clips of the Biddulph Carnival held in 1970. Mrs Price worked very hard on capturing films like this one, which she made into slide shows to be shown at the local Town Hall, which in turn raised funds to help build and open Biddulph Leisure Centre.

    Back in the day when biddulph had community spirit. Not a mobile phone in sight 😒 lol. THE GOOD TIMES OF HAPPY MEMORIES 😊
    2 pits, colishaw walkers, greenwood's, standards, selectus, lots of community and kids played in the streets. Happy 😊 times x

    I lived on this road growing up but this was just before I was born I think I've watched this a hundred times and still trying to see if I know anyone

    Great video, thanks for sharing it 👍 Where is the field at the end of the video, I'm trying to work out where the bungalows that are under construction are?

      I think it might be looking from where Checkley Drive is now toward Dove Grove. The prominent bungalow front is on Penine Way, and the 2 bungalowsnunder construction are kn Penine way opposite. At one point you can see the 3 houses at the start of Ox- HeyDrive. Sound about right?
