Aside from the style of the vocals, the lyricism and music all sound like it could have been close to a potential direction for The Mars Volta, either pre- or post-Bedlam in Goliath.
Also, I had super high expectations for this album, and they've been completely blown away. Fucking masterpiece.
I just wish there were shirts for the Album Covers. The art is amazing.
This track reminds me a lot of The Fall of Troy. Those were good ol' days :'). I'm glad this genre still has hope.

Saw them twice in Fresno, very intense band live.
ALLB have their own sound. And IMO its they have the best post hardcore sound. Them and Dance Gavin Dance

I think Hail the Sun is right up there with these guys.
Hail The Sun are more progressive post-hardcore though. Their new album is amazing.

As somebody who just started listening to both these bands, I'd say they sound quite a lot like one another. I don't think thats a bad thing?

How does this sound anything like DGD? ALLB is very dark and lyrical. DGD is more fun and optimistic. Hell, their writing styles are light years away from each other. It's bad because every band wants to be identified as themselves. Not a band that the vocalist used to be in. This is also nothing like "Discovery of a Lifelong error" Cory's old band.

tyler liming people do that to better understand what they're listening to. We can't help but liken one experience to another, as humans. Also, have you ever watched something in a language you can't fully comprehend? I bet subtitles helped quite a bit. People that actually listen to music and don't just play it in the background are pretty much doing the same kinda thing.
I'm all for looking deep into music and understanding what the song means or at least means to the individual, and linking it to personal things or things in life. That's cool, that's a big part of music. But when these kids come on youtube and start blasting the comments section with arguments about what the band is trying to sound like or who they are copying or what they stand for it's like, "Shut up and enjoy the music or leave". You know?

Sounds like trying to be DGD along with other bands... I'm not sure I like it.
The only reason it'd sound like Dance Gavin Dance is because Kurt Travis (who was in DGD) is in it and they're post-hardcore. Other than that there's very little similarity.
I don't know if it's just certain bars but some of it seems similar. Of course everything starts to sound the same after a while.
Nsync sound like Backstreet Boys. Rage Against the Machine sounds like Beastie Boys. Gaga sounds like Katy Parry. Its almost like genres have a distinct sound!
Well, in my opinion, there's a difference between being part of the same genre and having distinctly similar sounds.
But again, this is all my opinion. I just don't like the music.
