Question. Has anyone had the guy that looks like the groom sitting on their bed ( at hideout during the night) crying and saying "we have to go" or something like that and then you turn around and their gone? Or was that just me when I played the game? Bc that creeper me out so bad.
thats not the groom, though he does look similar. in the prologue the protagonist arrives at their apartment and takes off their coat and hat, revealing the guy on the bed.
@@misguel8868 Fun fact, thats not the groom. Its you, you realise later on in another dream when you take your coat and hat off. But the damage to yourself when you hit him is like a hint at it.

A bit of a kick in the pants is that a bug prevents you from getting a fabric. At the end when you kill the Red Chomper Bride, she isn't supposed to vanish. You're supposed to get an upgrade item that you can use to hold more stuff, or one more hotbar item. Even though it's a bug, her vanishing at the end is awesome in a spooky ghostly way.
This fucking game is incredible, I restarted the entire playthrough because I was too scared to answer the door at night and missed this event, would’ve been worth it even if I was further into the game.
I usually killed her off doing that event, but this last time I managed to escape without getting chomped. I simply ran away. Don’t know if that changes anything, as I haven’t finished the game. But one of my favorite game scenes this one, the suspense builds in such a great way.
When it's night time and there is knocking at your house, you don't even have to open the door. They just leave it at the door for you to grab in the morning. Sometimes my doors will open on their own at night, and i have to rush to close it because it's terrifying lol, not sure if the doors randomly opening at night are related though.
I'm only on my second playthrough and the invitation arrived when I reached day 3 at dry meadow. I haven't played far enough that the invitation hasn't shown up until later.
Every horror game should be like this . I've played a ton of horror games like the evil within, the last of us, outlast, alien isolation, penumbra, amnesia: the dark descent, silent hill 2, alan wake, F.E.A.R 2, and P.T. But Darkwood is the only horror game that always give me serious tension, the atmosphere alone in this game is incredible. No doubt, best top down horror game ever made. No woods darker than Darkwood woods.
Best top down not horror, just in general game for me, not too far from 100 hours on it, not counting the hours i played when it came out years ago cracked.
It was a bug for pc that the transformed bride disappeared when killed. She wasn't meant to disappear. But the game made her disappear anyway. As if this game itself is alive and aware of how to make the story even more scary for the players. Spooky indeed.
I'm through an in game month and i just gave up hanging around the meadow/forest waiting on the invitation :/ is it just that rare or am i rly unlucky?

The transition from the thumping to the music was so clean

That creeped me out when I peeked through the crack in the wall and saw him for the first time.
Yeah i hit him and took some damage myself

This is, hands down, one of my favorite horror segments in ANY game and Darkwood is definitely in my top 3 as well.
the balls on this man to fight a chomper with a board and nails
might fine work
well i mean how else would you fight it? i beat it using half the board and half a stick
@@tequilafeline6552 single shot pistol and maybe a swing or two from a board nails if you only grazed it somehow
Man. I've never been able to beat it melee. I got my butt kicked every time. Had to cheese it with a bear trap

do you know if this was fixed?
@@tonoornottono I'm not sure. I got sucked back into Factorio. I think the bug only affected PC versions.
@@tonoornottono as of oct 23 its not fixed. I just played a few days ago. Apparently this bug isnt in the console version, though?
Should be fixed, my 2nd playthrough and that bug doesn't reproduce

Can't you walk up to the bride when you first enter and kill her? Does it have any impact of what occurs later?
No since the bride it's just a vision and the real one became a red chomper
I like the music playing on the radio
Its like a Don't Starve song while you swap yourelf with Maxwell
Had to pause to read the subtitles, but other than that it's a really great video. Keep it up
I didnt know you could craft a simple shot gun in this game so i meleed and weaved its attacks leaving me at 1 health alive
I've aways missed the wedding

why does the red bride chimper vanishe?
Bug only on pc sadly

Not enough time to read the subtitles :/
Sorry. In retrospect I'm not very happy with this video in general. Might do a remastering of sorts? idk
I have a question. the monster killed me, does this affect the story or is there no problem?
Not at all, all these events are just "special encounters," kinda like dreams. Doesnt effect story, and the chomper is the end of the encounter
@@vangoghsseveredear this bride chomper in this wedding event was special and the very first and only red chomper you may Encounter in dry meadow.
