Вставка
- Опубліковано 4 січ 2013
- I am sorry for my horrible accent.. I should have prepared more.. I didn't want to preapre too much because I wanted to see what I remembered... :)
As a Costa Rican that has been to Serbia a couple times (and spent several months in Eastern Europe), I testify to the truth of the intro of this video... Живели!
Hahahaha you really sound funny, when you speak Serbian. Did you heard about Montenegro, or Crna Gora, it was a part of Serbia, with a sea. There is a lot of Serbs living there,i'm one of them. We speak Serbian, we are same religion, actually we are same people, but Montenegro make independ, so it's little difficult :)
thanks for putting this up.. i help out a friend in a small store that specializes in eastern european and meditterranean goods -- all the way round from morocco to lebanon to greece and turkey, and we have quite a few serbian customers.. they're great people. All i knew was Sdravo. I think i can have some fun with those extra words and phrases. It's fun to catch a customer off guard and answer in their language. always gets a great reaction. (you'd be amazed how often ethiopian women will smile and giggle if a canadian in canada says thanks in amheric -- and now they all like me. It breaks the ice. melts a bit of that strangers in a strange land feeling. we're all in this together.)
Dwig Buoy thank you for watching.. :) you have a great attitude.. the world needs more folks like you in it.. :) have a great day... :)
You are great :) Your serbian is great :) Odlican si!

Well done Charles. You did however forget the most important one which is a must know in any language, particularly in countries where drinking is a birth right. Živeli! :)
You are improving in Serbian keep the good work Charles!!
Charles, about national identity and stuff, not all of us are into it, I hope you understand that. I've been following your vlogs since the first one and I LOVE how adventurous you've always been. Greets from Novi Sad!
Good on you for learning how to speak serbian! Samo nastavi :))

Laku noc** govori se nocu, pred spavanje, nekom pozelis da lepo spava, kazes LAKU NOC ;)
Great respect for you man, from Serbian brother !!
You sound great, just keep practicing. :) Great video.
hahaahhaa... laz.. :) thanks for watching
Damn that's some American skills man ! :)
Chvala za video !
Huge respect for you man, for you and your effort :)
Serbian grammar is indeed very hard, has nice amount of complicated (maybe even unneeded because they're rarely used in ordinary, everyday speech) rules. English grammar is not hard at all.
On the other hand, reading and writing are very easy. Unlike English where you have different spoken and written language in Serbian you don't. You literally write the way you pronounce/speak and vice versa, read as it is written. It's very basic rule.
thanks for your quick lesson.. you are kind..
thank you.. you have been a big help.. i copied the previous alphabet that you posted on a previous post.. havea great Christmas...
Your English is quite good. We are the same age, you and I, and I have just began to learn my third language: Serbian. It is a very nice language, I love the way it sounds.
An education video... Awsome!
you are amazing ,iv never heard any american speaking serbian till now,im from serbia ,im not that proud of my country but anyways you learned a lot, about "laku noc" you can use it as "good bye" but we use it often before we go to bed... and you are not "glupi amerikanac" you are cleaver because our languadge is quit hard..im 15 years old ,and i learned english so fast so i hope you can learn serbian as fast as i learned english hehe..
Svaka cast, brother! :D
You are great dude ... :)
Yeah! U r doing great job!
awesome... sure... i know you are going to love it.. where are you from?
The L and the J together form one letter. Lj is not considered as two letters. It's one letter. The D and the J together form also one letter, that's the Đ.
Š is Sh
Ć is Tj
Č si Ch
Ž is Zh
In Montenegro, you have even Ś (the Sj) and Ź (the Zj).
But the most important thing in every ex-Yu language is that you read as it's written. You litteraly read every letter without changing the pronaunciation.
great advice, my man.. i hear Norwegian is toughhhhh.. thanks
,, Laku noc ,, is for saying bye when u go to sleep :) when you said it u go to bed :D Greetings from Serbia
awww.. thank you for your compliments... i am still not very good.. :( maybe one day!!! your English is amazing... good job!

I am going to Montenegro for a few months so I look forward to more videos.
awwww.. hvala bre.. that means a lot... :)
damn.. missed.. hope you had a great birthday...
Great video man! I would also like to see you speak some Greek. :)
Good on ya! Just like any country I'd say Serbians generally are willing to aid if they see your trying and you certainly seem to be doing well in that area. BTW 'Kako ste' is sounded literally the way it reads as there is no need to turn the 's' into a 'sh' sound. Cheers all the way from Australia.
Keep making Serbian lessons C-man.Also,you could upgrade that when you come here in a few months, you can have some Serbian buddies of yours next to you to re-check your spelling etc. xD =)
THANKS for supporting us are you coming to Nish on February???:DDD
Don't feel stupid of making this video, because this is great!

thanks mate.. :) i appreciate your feedback...
Many serbian words are very similar to russian words. Russian is my mother tongue, but obviously I cant understand serbian, but when I read, I can actually understand a bit if I try hard. I speak french too, and few times I was able to understand spanish writing as long as there were enough of similar words from french.:))
Hahahahahaaaaa you're so hilarious!! How could you even pat your self "Good Job Charlie!" Hahaha and also I died laughing when u forget how to greeting...I can pronounce those words better than you...haha maybe a little bit better. xD
The easiest way to learn a language Charles is through friends thats how learned Norwegian. Im serbian but i studying in Norway and i kept reading and writing Norwegian, it did help but i was always hesitating when it came to talking directly to people, thats why its alot better to force yourself to talk Serbian. When you talk with friends if you make mistake their going to correct you and you know what people sey you learn from your mistakes :)
you are very good , and brave to try hehehe
Im impresed . U are amazing, becouse, most people in world belive in that we are terrorists, and bad people.U,u belive that we are amazing people, and you talked about our history, what is totaly cool. Im bad in english, and i must say,im very impresed . Impresed (zadivljena) :)
pricam, ili govorim is the saim :) greetings from zrenjanin :)
good idea.. i would have to really practice..a hahahahaha.. thanks for the idea
good idea, my brotha... :)
thank you very much.. glad you enjoyed it.. :)
thank you so much for your input... i always thought it was LJubnica.. ahahaha.. thanks a lot
heyyyyyyyyyyyy bro.. thanks a lot.. :)
I am half russian, but I spent a long time living there, and so always considered myslef russian. There are many similar words in russian, but often they are written in diffrent ways. The word baba, for example, in russian nowadays means simply woman but in an impolite way. However we as guys always use it, its probably like the word chick in english, but a bit more rude.))) We say brat instead of brate. We say odin, dva, tri, chetire for one two three four. So some word are very similar.
haha good job man :))
Thank you for everything.
thank you!!!!
;) thanks for the info.. same over here... :)
my mannnnnnnnnnn.. :)
Charles, you are wrong.
Many people will help you if you just ask "Do you speak English?".
If they now hot to help, they just will.
Well, in northern Serbia for sure.
Happy New Year, Charles! ;)
thank you for telling me... same in English...
thankssssssssss buddy... greetings to Bor.. :)

oh wow.. you are russian? nice to meet you... i wondered how much Serbian you would understand..
I know to 10 its jedan1,dva2,tri3,cetiri4,pet5,sest6,sedam7,osam8,devet9,deset10. :D
hello, zdravo..
Good afternoon is Dobar dan...correct!
hvala ... i love Kikinda... :)
THANKS BUD!!
thank you so much... :)
Dobro vece is greeting its like good night literal translation. Laku noc would be easy night and its like you would say good night to someone that is going away, or going to sleep.
When u say goodbye in searbian in night u say Dobro veče like good evening,u say laku noć, when someone is going to sleep and u wanna say to them like have nice dreams...
did you take some serbian lessons whilst you were here or you just learned this with your serbian friends? you said all words good :)
