YT Decoy Pro Race vs Base 29. True, both are probably sold out right now but we did a video comparing the lower and upper level models. Are carbon wheels worth it?
I really enjoyed watching this. Just decided on a Decoy this week and planning on selling my Ripmo. Lots to consider but I think I’d be happy on a Pro Race or a Base model, just because of the eBenefits. ✌🏼🤟🏼
Hi - very interesting video as I am hoping to purchase a base Decoy (as that is my budget) but I have demo ridden the Pro Race. I wanted to ask you what kind of light set-up you guys have on your bikes and would you recommend them? Also, can you tell me where you got the decals that are on your wife’s bike/the bike that your son is riding?
Congratulations on the new bike soon! We light Light and Motion or Outbound Lighting lights. We make a lot of the decals and buy some from Groundkeeper Customs.
Hello- nice video! Too bad I may not be able to get one until next year. In the meantime, do you mind telling me where you got the frame protection on you sons bike? Thanks in advance!
Wayne Lee It's standard size for the Decoy, 230x65, the mounting hardware is 8x20 top, 8x40 bottom, torque on the bolts is 10-12nm. You can order them easily online. If I were doing it over again, I would have put the Marzocchi bomber coil shock on. I just happened to have the X2 in the garage already. I’m also going to eventually do the Debonair Air Spring and rC2 upgrade on the Yari.
@@CaptGoodJob Hi Sean, Thanks for the quick response. That some good advice. I'm just getting back into MTB and this Decoy Base is for my son. I'm waiting for my Decoy Elite which is coming in a few weeks. I was thinking of swapping that out to a Push Coil Shock.
Wayne Lee That would be awesome! I thought about the value that Marzocchi is offering versus Push. I think that on the heavy bike, you won’t maybe get the value out of the awesome Push product. With the extra weight of the bike, I don’t notice the same level of precision form the X2 as an example as I do on my lighter bikes. Just one person’s opinion.
Thanks for the videos - what type of motor range are you seeing from the Decoy's? My whole purpose of thinking about a eMTB is those climbs - a couple of the loops I do has a 200 meter+ climb on them so want to make those a bit easier so I can ride longer. What are you seeing with respect to YT's performance on that?
Jeremy McNeil I can do around 30 miles with over 3500-4000 feet (over 1000 meters) in a ride easily in my area. There is a loop near me called Short Commings that has 200 meters of climbing and descending over 2 miles and I can loop it 3 times in about 40 minutes. I get to spend way more time going downhill when I ride this bike. See my Strava for details. www.strava.com/athletes/19842227
Jeremy McNeil that would be in Boost the whole time. In Eco I could probably double or triple that. If I’m feeling like it is an Eco kinda of day, I ride a non-ebike. Great question.
About 3 weeks away from getting my new Decoy Elite. Can't wait. Glad to see Dad and son doing things together. Had a blast raising my son. Stay safe.
Jeff Riley You are going to love it! Congrats.

You would love either! Keep in mind, they are never in stock. If you see one, buy it!
@@CaptGoodJob found a used base model mullet for $4500. But I believe YT will have new stock this month or next. Hard to wait!

@@CaptGoodJob Awesome - thanks for the reply. Sounds like solid range. Is that on eco or a blend of the three settings?
