I just put a fairing on my Heritage. For the gap above the headlight I used the rubber gasket material used on the bottom of a garage door. Siliconed it to the fairing that way it stays with the fairing when I take the fairing off. Works great.
Great video! I ordered the Reckless Motorcycles Batwing fairing for my 04 Road King Custom yesterday. After seeing it on your Road King, I'm so psyched to get mine in and get it installed. My doesn't have the 4 speakers, it has the two 6x9 RFs in it. Also planning some lower fairings for the crash bar as I hate the cuff my my jeans folding over while riding. I'll likely get those with speakers in them as well so that my wife or daughter will be able to hear the music better when riding 2 up
It will make a huge enjoyment difference in the bike. I had two 6×9's in the bike before this one, and they sounded great as well. Thanks for watching!
I ended up trying that off camera. The only issue was it would bind for some reason, and wouldn't allow for full turning very easily. I appreciate the comment, and thank you for watching!
The reason I used that type of harness was for a quick disconnect feature. I could have used thicker wiring but I would have had to direct wire it. That and the fact that it takes up less room running through the bike back to the battery. Thanks for watching!
When i did mine i made the slots @ 1/2 lower and drilled the to holes to tilt the fairing back about 3/8. Very minimal gap in the headlight area and looks stock
The only reason I didn't change the height is because I am fairly tall and it would have dropped it down even lower....otherwise I probably would have done something like that. Thanks for watching!
It doesn't really "lock" on, but the top mount has to slide in and down so it really can't come off. With that, as well as the weight of the fairing and all of the audio equipment and how tight the spacers are to the bracket, it's actually a fight to remove it. Thanks for watching!
A great thing for power is instead of fuse taps use a fuse buddy it allows you to use an existing fuse slot while being able to fuse the circuit your wiring in. Bike looks sick brother.
Dorman 91442 3 Wire Male And Female Pigtail This should fix your bulk head connector issue. I did the same thing to my 2013 Street King, Same AMP, Speakers and different radio. Great freakin job.
I didn't need any kind of adapter kit, as the fairing was aftermarket, and I cut the hole to fit the single din opening precisely. The only additional cutting I really had to do was to be able to set the marine housing in place. Thanks for watching!

I have those same speakers on my fairing being powered by a Audiocontrol 2.300 amp. I have them wired in parallel to drop the impedance down to 2 ohms. While they sound ok when the bike is not moving, but once at speed between the wind noise and exhaust note they dont sound very good when cranked up too much. You look like you have room to go with 6.5 speakers I would go with that size. Im trying to figure out how to fit my Polk MM562 speakers in place of the Polk db522. Is that the Hoppe fairing?
I've actually been really happy with the performance of these speakers....if I did it again, I'd go with two 6x9's like I had on my last bike.
