Crazy isn’t it 😢 Very short season this year. Feels like covers have only just come off. Hope you are well and back to full health. Best wishes buddy 👍🏼
Boxing in the pond with polly always worried me with the big winds we seem to get regularly it may push the pergola over and end up cracking the wall of the pond as the back posts on mine are resined in to the top of the brickwork so I just went for ones over the top
I’m going to mock it up in battens and clear tarpaulin to see how it goes. I kept my covers from last year just in case. I’ll update soon 👍🏼 Thanks for watching buddy
@@edenkoipond I enjoy watching Dave your like me always tinkering 😊👍 I knocked one shed through into the other this weekend to make room for for the drum
Hi Dave sorry Im struggling to find the video where you said where you got your custom size net from? I think im going to need one got heron issues. Thanks
Hiya buddy! The net is from Norfine nets. You can call them direct or order through koi water barn. They are fully customised to your pond. Not cheap but definitely worth the extra 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@edenkoipond ah get ya. You don't get much crud from the surface like leaves do you. Was gonna say the pump would turn it to soup before it got to the drum
With all due respect. A quality solvent wield pipe is the only application required for a koi pond. All this pressure pipe nonsense is a load of bullshine, driving unnecessary expense that could be applied to more critical applications.
I would have agreed with you previously as I’ve used black plastic often however, taking some of my old 1.5” black plastic pipes apart I was pretty shocked at how brittle they had become. I had a lot of the pressure pipe fittings already and a bit of pipe. The pipes location is underground on the route to the filter and right where it can get knocked/damaged on the return. For peace of mind and very little in terms of cost compared to what we spend on this hobby, it was a no brainer 👍🏼👍🏼 When I build my grow on indoors I will use black plastic. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment 👍🏼
@triumph12408 Hiya buddy. My skimmer is only 1.5inch. I also wanted to be able to monitor/adjust the balance at the filter to ensure I’m still maintaining sufficient flow through the 4” bottom drain. I’m only running around 3000lph from the skimmer so I’m still 10k+ on the bottom drain. I also want to be able to put the skimmer on a timer set in line with the feeder 👍🏼👍🏼
Nice job Dave thanks for sharing 👍
Cracking video! Learning alot from your channel with being new and currently in the planning and design stage! 💪🏼
It’s great to read comments that the channel is helping people. Genuinely the main reason I have a channel! Thank you 🙏🏼 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Hi Dave, have you noticed any change in the frequency of the drum cleaning since running your skimmer through the Draco ?

Hi dude, where did you get ur pond net from?
Hiya buddy. The nets can be ordered from koi water barn. They are completely custom. A bit on the pricey side but quality is very good 👍🏼
How much do you want for the tempest
Sold I’m afraid buddy. Thanks for watching 👍🏼
Why are you pumping it to the drum mate?
So I can control the flow. It’s only a 1.5” skimmer so wouldn’t work gravity fed 😢 Also, I want to run it on a timer in line with the feeder 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼

Hi 👋, have to ask where did you get that fab pond net I've never seen one with the edging and eyelets before. Gwen 🧓
Hiya - I got this through Koi Water Barn. Not the cheapest but definitely worth the investment 👍🏼
Thanks 👍
Can I ask why you didn’t go gravity fed from the skimmer to the drum? That’s what I did & it works well. Eliminates a pump to
