Moving continents will probably generate global earthquake unless they are floating. I guess that’s the chaos they mean. Also it will bring a warring states era because if ideology and culture are different, people won’t like unification very much.
I actually think the healer's skill is pretty well balanced . It forces you to put her very close to the frontlines and potentially in range of ranged weapons, as was professionally demonstrated by our egg overlord :)
True! Maybe if it was a rally instead or a +3 or +2, cuz +4 is a lot on top of a heal and usually, it’s not too difficult to place her out of enemies. Sometimes you get cornered of course, as we saw, but when you’re invading, you can typically bait the enemy and leave her 1 space out of their range
I’d love to see this series be continued! Very interesting to see what the AI can do and the ranges in which it can understand FE. Also, this video made me laugh at multiple intervals, especially when Isolde died! 10/10 Gameplay. Sir Dagon is also my new husband! Thanks for the awesome video, very creative concept!
Interesting how the backstory seems influenced by classic Fire Emblem and classic Final Fantasy, I would've expected to be influenced by more modern entries. I'd be great to see how far AI can go with this setting
If you manage to create a full AI-generated ROMhack I would definitely play it. On the game itself: -I'm amazed by how well written the dialogues, the descriptions and even the death quotes are. The narration and some of the dialogues could use a little improvement but they're surprisingly good. -With the exception of some tiles (the chest room looks odd and some areas aren't very useful) and the presence of too many enemies for a first chapter, the layout is decent. -It looks more like a "survive/defeat the boss" chapter than a "defend/defeat the boss" one. -The chest side-objective doesn't feel perfectly executed because the player doesn't have any key or thief. The only ways are killing the thief after he stole the elfire or waiting for him to open the door and then kill him to get the chest key. Also, elfire is unusable at the moment. On the units: -Lioran: his only real flaw is his magic growth, although a lord that can hit both defende and resistance for high damage could be a little too powerful. His personal skill could grant +4 defense, no problem. His personal weapon shouldn't weigh him down. His portrait fits him well. -Elara: I think she's better than she looks. Her performance in this chapter may look underwhelming, but she's a flying unit. Her personal skill could also grant her +10% hit, no problem. Her portrait needs some adjustments on the right side, otherwise it's nice. -Bram: his biggest flaw is his portrait, it needs a lot of editing in order to match the others. I'm not completely sold on his personal skill; on one hand it adds strategic depth because the player has to take into account both the damage gain and the attack speed loss, and on the other hand his drawback forces the player to double-check the numbers almost every turn. I think that Radiant Dawn fighter battle animation would fit him very well -Isolde: she basically has no flaws. Her personal skill allows her to be useful even when staves aren't needed. Her portrait needs very little tweaking. Her only weak point is the fact that it could take her a lot of time to reach promotion, depending on the experience given by staves. -Leif: he basically has no flaws. His personal skill is very good. His portrait is almost perfect. Maybe his base stats could be slightly improved so he could double more. I think that Awakening myrmidon animation would fit him very well. -Sir Dagon: he looks interesting. If he survives this chapter he could become a recurring antagonist or even be recruitable, sort of beginning to see the truth. In conclusion, this first chapter looks much better than I expected. With a little polishing by a skilled ROMhacker it could look very good and I'm very intrigued by the idea of playing an AI generated ROMhack. Please do it, it would be something never seen before. Edit: grammar
Still better in both Story and Gameplay than Fates Revelation. (Edit: Isolde's skill and starting the game with a defense chapter is a pretty awesome design actually, make characters look good in their joining chapter. And it just wouldn't be a Mangs playthrough without immediately losing the healer.)
In my tactical game, healers start off with a skill that prevents death and gives them 100% dodge rate for one turn the first time they would die in a battle (basically giving you one out on a mistake). It's loosely based on the Miracle skill in Fire Emblem but without the luck factor.
Even if it is kinda basic, is impressive and even scary how much the AI can get done. Someone only will need to do some clean up, a twist here and there, some arrangement and this could easily pass as anyone serious try at romhacking.
Mangs wasn't just feeling the stats, he was apparently feeling the attack range, too. Almost feels intentional that those two archers had just enough damage to kill her.
That was a solid start, but from the looks of things it would be worth trying to convince the AI to swap out the Pegasus Knight for a Great Knight (possibly the King from the next chapter as a late turn reinforcement) or just the good ol' Paladin. It'd keep a decent amount of mobility with the extra unit and make a decent case for all those axes it handed out for potential drops. Realistically Bram's not going to be able to make use of all of them on his own so it's a solid rebalance that encourages other potential tutorial moments like trading the Hand Axe around. Similarly, the Fire tome could be on an earlier Mage to encourage getting it to the Lord before too many uses of their personal tome. The Pegasus Knight could then be reworked to be a guard detail for the wind Mage that acts as the Rescue tutorial by starting with a priority to approach the Lord from the bottom of the map so you can send her back to rescue the mage.
This is both amazing and scary in a way hahaha. I personally love the GBA fire emblem titles, the classes, art style and map design are among my favorites from what I've played of FE. Having a program and AI that makes generating these games significantly easier for the people who have the know how is freakin awesome! If these games are able to be churned out with quality checks in place that means unlimited fire emblem custom campaigns with new characters, maps, weapons and more! Im all for this, these are games I literally never tire of..even playing the same campaign over and over and over.
This is such a badass creation! As someone who has been experimenting on and off with FEBuilder for 2 years, this really helps the design side of things. I love seeing AI-generated maps be better than some mainline FE maps.
Very cool! The biggest thing I noticed is that you need to ask ChatGPT to write alternate scenes for when certain characters aren't present. Isolde and Elara showed up for the end of chapter scene posthumously! XD
This is a really cool idea. I would love to see where the AI chooses to take this. I know that you're suffering empty nest syndrome after AS went off to college, so this might be a fun and lighthearted way to keep that creative juice flowing. :D
Everything about this is impressive, please do continue it and see what else the AI Overlord has in store for us, this is more interesting than Engage if I’m being honest.
The writing reads like beginner fanfiction, but I feel the AI is at least capable of being consistent in their characterization. It also feels like the AI doesn't have a whole lot of inspiration to characterize them beyond what they do in battle. I love to think that Bram is really buff but actually like 4'8" in height.
this would be a cool series to follow I think. with the next chapter you could tell the Ai who died in this one and it will structuer the plot around those details, maybe change who you meet and how other characters view you after getting certain people killed, maybe affect who you can recruit and even adjust to give you more allys if you struggling, all with their own backstories and personalities instead of generic units. you could take it step further and explain the details of what happened in the previous chapter and that would be woven into dialogue and other story beats. like Isolde was killed by two archers in chapter one, somewhere down the line you meet and recruit Isolde's brother who has a personal skill that makes him resistant to bows, maybe hes even gone a little crazy and wants to wipe out the family and everyone related to those archers squad and he gets his own paralogue to do it.
Mangs a few not even a month ago, hay guy i just released my first fire emblem hack that took two years to complete. Mangs now, HAHA guy look im training AI to replace me. But it will be interesting to see how AI can help streamline the creation process.
Yeeeeeeah nah, there were already A LOT of heated debates over FEUniverse about AI, and that was when it just started with the AI generated portraits, a whole game made with AI could break the entire community
I really like this. It shows the misconception about the usage of AI. It doesn't do everything yet, it requires a lot of human input. It can either cut out a lot of dredgework, or it can do a bit of the core work that you can't be arsed with. Great project!
It's funny, I want you to continue the hack just because I want to see where GPT takes the story, it feels like I opened a book with a *VERY* good hookline, but stops the story after 5 pages haha
I would like to see it continued. At least as far as generating a full roster of units and where it takes the story, if making maps is too much work. I also fully expect it to write a better story than Fates and Engage. Better than Awakening could be doable aswell.
So I also did this and it was called "Fire Emblem: Shadows of Elysium" it must love this "Shadows of" title thing. And these were the 3 characters made for chapter 1. 1. Elara - The Protagonist: Elara is a young noble with a determined spirit. She has long, flowing chestnut hair and piercing blue eyes. She wears a practical yet elegant outfit, consisting of a fitted tunic with intricate embroidery and a flowing cape. Elara wields a versatile sword and carries a small shield adorned with her family crest. 2. Aiden - The Skilled Swordsman: Aiden is a skilled swordsman seeking redemption for his past mistakes. He has short, tousled blond hair and intense green eyes. He wears a dark, form-fitting outfit with leather armor and a long, flowing cloak. Aiden wields a sleek, dual-bladed sword and moves with grace and precision on the battlefield. 3. Lyra - The Wise Mage: Lyra is a wise mage with ancient knowledge and powerful magic. She has long, silver hair that cascades down her back and vibrant purple eyes. She wears flowing robes adorned with intricate patterns and carries a staff adorned with mystical crystals. Lyra's magic manifests in ethereal wisps of energy, and she can summon elemental spells to devastate her foes. So yeah.
I reckon some day, this AI will be SO advanced, and will have access to so many variables and data - that people will be able to Flat-Out make a "roguelike-ish" FE game - where every single seed has a unique generated story, concept, characters, interactions, difficulty curves, and maybe even branching paths - so much so that you'd end up having literally infinite story-modes, which players can share with each other via those unique seed generation numbers.
The end cutscene indicates that the healer recovers everybody after chapter 1, so you should start chapter 2 with a full party regardless of losses. This actually makes sense, as this chapter is really hard for a first chapter, so the game gives you an out.
Id be very interested in what the ai would make. But it would be much more amusing and interesting if you guys could polish it and show a side by side comparison of what the ai made originally and then how you guys made it actually good.
You know I gotta say parts of this map really caught me off guard with how clever some of the design is. Like how your instinct would be to send your pegasus knight to catch the thief because of her high mov, but the way to the treasure room is blocked by a pair of archers, forcing you to commit your limited infantry to clear the path, leaving your cleric more vulnerable.
That said, it can be tempting to use that as evidence that ChatGPT is able to comprehend FE Map design to some extent, and while that is a cool thought, we have to keep in mind that the reality is most likely that ChatGPT is averaging out a lot of FE map descriptions and analyses online, and is naturally just regurgitating common map design tricks. A thief pursuing a far off treasure room, a boss with stationary AI bodyguards that can be killed to end a defense map early, and archers to wall out your early-game pegasus knight are all clever, but they're also quite common, especially for GBA era.
I would love to see this AI Fire Emblem game continued, I'm very curious to see how much the AI knows and understands of FE in general, at what point it uses more FE tropes and to see if the history actually progresses or the AI simply ditches the plot midway. 100 points for the edgy myrmidon subplot and the cleric "past".
I could see this AI thing being awesome if someone could tweak and take the best parts of maybe 10 different game designs and combine them into one awesome game. It would still require a lot of good decisions by the humans involved.
I played the ROM, and it was fun! The writing was good as well. Please continue it as I would be fascinated to see where the AI goes next in the story.

Galeforce on a myrm is honestly a pretty good balancing idea.
Kill and run strategy.
Galeforce Armor Knight.
You've got to give it to mangs, only the egg lord could lose his healer like that.
And somehow it's still going to be better than Engage.

Yeah definitely continue with this. It's fun seeing what ideas it'll come up with.
This AI stuff is like the ultimate randomiser. No one knows what'll happen next XD
Very cool, would love to see more
Please continue this!!!
God this story is just as good as 90% of rpg and dnd campaigns
I could see this AI thing being awesome if someone could tweak and take the best parts of maybe 10 different game designs and combine them into one awesome game. It would still require a lot of good decisions by the humans involved.
I played the ROM, and it was fun! The writing was good as well. Please continue it as I would be fascinated to see where the AI goes next in the story.
Pretty Decent for an AI Generated Game, i am excited to see where this séries is going
