Season 1, episode 12, of Penn and Teller's show BS!, they completely eviscerated the Ouija board. They had some volunteers put on blindfolds, and at the last minute, turned the board 180 degrees. The participants moved the planchette to where the "yes" and "no" SHOULD be on the board, but really they were pointing at nothing because the board was turned upside down. It's one of my top ten favorite debunks, absolutely irrefutable. Check it out!

I’ve seen that & I concur ‼️😆. If you liked that, please watch some of the videos by famous debunker James Randi. James also helped Johnny Carson set up URI Geller when he was a guest on the “Tonight Show”. URI failed miserably because James Randi, also a magician, knew all of Uri’s tricks & made SURE Uri couldn’t cheat. EPIC 😂

Dowsing rods (at least where i live, the forests of Maine) were used to find water.... when wells and water irrigation were in their infancy(ish), it was (and to a certain degree still are) used to locate springs and spouts, and deposits of water that are located beneath the soil. You can use branches, but many people here use metal coat hangers..... you can literally stick them into your hands, with no cylinder.... as a child, at my camp, i used to bend coat hangers and walk around the woods to find deposits.... camps in Maine generally are on lakes, where tons of water and minerals are....it used to trip me the hell out as a child.... but I've used them as an old man.... you can literally take a couple metal coat hangers, bend them into a 90 degree angle, all one piece (one thin rod as a letter "L") and it will react to water.... and I'm sure it can react to other crap, and a "paranormal investigator" can easily manipulate it to do whatever it wanted lol.....much love from Maine

I'm a plumber in the states and I use dousing rods to find underground pipes, water sources, etc with them. They work by using the earth's magnetic field and it's quite cool to use if you know what your doing. But you can have the handles or not personally I don't like using them. Also I believe they have to be copper as well bent at a 90 degree angle and loosely held in the hands and it's easy to make them do what you want so in ghost videos with them I normally immediately ignore them bc they could just as easily be picking up the bloody shit pipe under the hotel/house. The rods will start out pointing away from you like she's doing but once they move you can kinda move some yourself until the rods are pointing to your left and right and are parallel to each other. It's a neat trick and I've always been able to find what I'm looking for underground with them, our customers are blown away everytime I use them and can show them exactly where and what direction pipes flow. Also a power line can also affect the movement of the rods.

It prouduces very faint light that can cast a shadow if someone was standing infront of it. The flash making it disappear is what we would expect if we tried to take a picture of our own shadow with the flash on. Likewise it should still be there if we took a picture with the flash off.

You are hysterical, ha ha ha!!! As a person who uses pendulums & dowsing rods, yes, that is how they work. The theory is our higher consciousness knows the answers, so it lets us know. That being said, my dowsing rods have seemed to have their own power at times, and literally freaked me out to where I hid them for a while, lol! 😮 You had me dying with that narrator's voice trying to sound like a cool dude. 😂😂 Midwest Ghost Hunter seems to make his videos for kids. I saw that full video, and it was painful. He didn't seem to be parady, but is the Blues Clues of ghost hunting. I’m late to this party but where they took the 2 photos if you look in the flashed photo you can see the handle of a camera stand on the right hand side. And when they move to the right to take second picture it’s just the shadow of that and someone’s head.

    Hi Dan. Great video!
Midwest Ghost Hunter (think I said something like this in Beardo's comments) makes me think of the PBS Show, Mr. Roger's "Won't You Be My Neighbor?" OMG 🤦‍♀️
Ghost Tech, I'm with you, Dan, about those recorders for the EVPs. How do they hear "Haah!" & get: it said "Dining Room" - ?? LOL.
We all love it when you chat. I love it when you explain something new (to me), like the motion of our hands (e.g., using dousing rods).
    Thank you, Dan.
    Cheers!! 🍻❤️👊

Dowsing rods work by detecting magnetic energy in various natural substances such as water, lime, and quartz. The negative charges present in the surroundings cause positive charges to move, creating a magnetic flow. This flow is typically not strong enough to produce a shock but is sufficient to induce movement in the dowsing rods.
When using dowsing rods, one rod responds to stronger magnetic fields by moving closer, while the other rod reacts in turn. Depending on the magnetic interaction, the rods can be either attracted or repelled, resulting in movements such as crossing, moving apart, or shifting left and right.
Understanding how electricity functions goes beyond the simple flow in wires taught in grade school. Power lines are actually filled with positive charges, and the power company employs DC transformers to convert this into DC (Direct Current). The negative charge from DC then pushes the positive charge down the line, creating a magnetic flow. This setup allows the power company to position additional lines near live ones to pick up energy from the nearby lines at minimal cost.
This explains why there are multiple electric lines on towers and poles-where one active line can transmit energy to another nearby line efficiently. The company then utilizes step-up and step-down transformers to regulate the electricity until it reaches individual homes, where it is ready for use. dowsing rods Magnetic Speaker Microphone tape recording heads and many other Items work on this same magnetic principle .

The guys at the end of the video definitely have issues with their own lighting causing them to see things. The second photo of the painting where the chain shadow appears, it doesn't even look like he used the flash, but is relying on a bright light slightly behind him. I think the light is catching a camera tripod (the stick thing which seems to attach to the chain in the shadow) and yeah possibly a chain from a hanging light fixture. The larger part of the shadow is actually probably the dude taking the picture because the light is coming from behind him. I don't think they are doing it on purpose but it is very silly how they don't seem to know how lighting and shadows work. I'm not sure why they would keep all the lights off, but then use those bright stand lights instead. Really just creates more of the same issues. Maybe that is in fact why they do it that way.

☘️🍀 Danny~o‼️ Did you ever find out if “Midwest Ghost Hunter” channel was just a parody channel?!? I’d be interested to know too. 😂. Also, the narrator of this video you’re analyzing reminds me of the male version of Leonora Clay of “Dark Curiosities”. Both have that sing~songy type of speaking. 😁

For reference, GhostTech capture a 'Shadow Figure' in every episode, never with all three peeps in the shot though. 3rd man doing sus things eh. Glad they showed the stairwell shadow as I debunked it on the video in the chat. It is a shadow that travels up the stairwell wall before appearing at the top, it is a thrown shadow from one of the investigators. I even got a reply from them that they would 'check the footage again' but as if right

Those dowsing rods are fake AF. All you need is a couple of coat hangers bent to shape. If you want to go 'uptown' on them, you can add old old Bic pen cases where your hands go so you ensure not to touch the rods.
I dowse, not for paranormal or to get scared. No. My friend down in the Appalachians accidentally dug up a long dead uncle to put in a garden. She felt horrible. She made it her life's work to find unmarked graves, verify them with the County Records and arrange for a headstone or marker so that nobody else's uncle gets 'disturbed'. She taught me, I have taught many others. 99% of women can do this and maybe 2 out of 10 men. So that hairy guy is for sure faking with his "Star Wars Dowsers". omg
All that said, I have not one friggin' clue how it works. I know it does work, but it makes zero sense to me. I would LOVE to hear any explanation for it.
