    All the hidden options revealed ! Many thanks. I got a ton of add-in transitions but most have unfathomable names and they are spread around in other folders too. If I pop them into my Toolbox Favorites folder then the unfathomable names are still unhelpful. Is there a way to edit (personalise) transition names either in the Favs folder or in the original folders? If it is not part of Davinci's remit to allow user renaming, is it possible to do it at Windows OS level?

    I have the studio version of 19. I have tried doing what you said about applying transitions between clips. The double-clicking doesn't work at all. When I drag and drop, sometimes it works, and sometimes it doesn't. Even when it works, I don't get that little symbol indicating that a transition has been applied like I see when you do it. What am I doing wrong?

      I'd try trimming the clips a few frames on each side and see if the transition works. If you can't see it on there, you might have to zoom in on the timeline. If you are zoomed out too far, you won't see them.

    More simple way: select all your clips you want to apply a transition to and apply the transition by using the transition pop up menue.

    Hey Jason, great tips you got there!
    I git a question though: can we make a preset transition made up of 2 or more transitions. Let’s say an Edge wipe with Cross dissolve.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 місяці тому

      You can make it using fusion but not as simple as I show here.

    • @HighCamFly
      @HighCamFly 3 місяці тому

      @@JasonYadlovski thanks, I am already using fusion, I thought I’d find a faster way. I got another question off-topic: something in DR19b3 is auto selecting the upper clip wherever the playhead gets. While I want to edit a lower clip it makes it so difficult when going back and forth and every time auto selects the upper clip. How can I turn this on or off?

    This was SUPER Helpful to me. I've been looking for this tutorial for a LONNNNG time.
    I notice that while you can copy and paste transitions, it seems that I can't copy over transitions. When I try to paste a transition where I already have one, it doesn't replace the old one.
    I note that if I paste multiple transitions, and paste them multiple times (eg. copy two, paste to four locations) if one of those positions has a different transition, that transition doesn't get the new transition, but keeps the old one.
    What am I missing?

    I have seen so many yt videos stats of nerds and their audio level shows-6 db or -4 db but still audio is very loud how it is possible? And in my case if i keep my audio level even -2 db (as per yt stats of nerds) my audio is very tiny. And if i keep my audio loud enough by applying compression and bus limiter and upload to yt my audio sounds like it is clipping and audio level showing as per stats of yt is -0.6 db so can you suggest what to do?

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 місяці тому

      Hey! One thing to keep in mind is that you need to check the loudness levels, not the DB level. It’s two different things when you measure loudness versus setting the DB level of your track or main bus. I recommend setting dialogue levels around -10 DB and then mix your other tracks like music or sound effects accordingly. After all of your work is done, then you go and check your loudness to see if you’re getting close to the -14 LUFS that UA-cam allows. I’ve got videos both on setting proper levels for your audio and checking loudness in DaVinci Resolve. The overall loudness is the last thing you want to check once all the rest of your audio work is complete. It kind of goes along with mastering your audio.
      Also just FYI in the stats for nerds when it says -4 dB or -6 dB, that means it is 4 dB or 6 dB below the allowable limit of -14 LUFS. It does not mean that the audio is set to -4dB.
      Does this help clarify it a bit?

      @@JasonYadlovskithanks for reply. I have subscribed your channel and watched your videos for audio level and yt loudness etc so i knew already about loudness db etc. but my question is if i make my audio loud (through dynamic compressor ) then it’s clipping and if i apply limiter then it sounds ok but in some part it is still giving clipping sound it is not audible in normal earphone or in mobile speaker but i have sony home theatre system so it sounds bad at initial vocal start point for micro second and then rest part sounds good. At each vocal part where i start to speak or there is a break in between my vo and next word starts then it is clipping so my question is how to maintain loud audio as per yt norms and still it should not clipping? Or resolve limiter is faulty?😀if i keep my voulme -10 db level then it is not loud enough so i have to increase dynamic make up level and then audio level going in red and starts clipping. Sorry for long explanation but if you can help what to do in this case.

    • @JasonYadlovski
      @JasonYadlovski  3 місяці тому

      Awesome, thanks for being subscribed! Here's what I'd try - make sure you're using the compressor on your dialogue track. Use it to help boost the quiet parts (makeup) and use the compressor to help prevent it from getting too loud.
      When you check the overall loudness, try using something like the soft clipper on your Bus 1. This will allow you to boost the overall loudness while having a soft compressor so levels don't peak. In general, I don't use a hard limiter. Make sure the LUFS level on the graph in fairlight is around -15 or -16. That's typically what I use. If done correctly, the audio should be just fine on UA-cam.
      Do you have an example video you can send me a link to?
