Great reaction! I love this song. It is always good to hear the poppier side of Babymetal every now and then. Especially with Su's sweet vocals. I also like that Moa's backing vocals were brought more to the front. SHe has a lovely voice as well. The live version is of course a bit heavier but, I like this version just as much. They also held a couple of live concerts celebrating this special b'day, we love MomoMetal 🦊🤘🍑 Glad to see you're back with more BM songs and enjoying this new BM sound. For me L&D is another great pop rock ballad with beautiful SuMetal vocals piercing into our hearts. Love the J-pop sound from 2000 and the nostalgic vibes mixed with the edm sound. Here's some info about this song: _One of the discovered 10 parallel worlds is "LIGHT AND DARKNESS" and this 4th pre-release digital single “Light and Darkness” centers around this theme. Because light exists, darkness also exists._ _And because darkness is present, there is also a world that shines._ _During the night when light and darkness intersect, what we seek after poisoned with darkness awaits a world filled with strong love. As the door opens, is it hope or despair that awaits us? The song expresses the duality in everything and the way things are perceived and interpreted differ depending on each person’s point of view._ This was a world premiere at BabyMetal Returns The Other One - Makuhari Messe 2023 setlist, along with "THE LEGEND". Great reaction! As much as I love the studio version, the live version is SOOOO much better. The live instrumentation hits WAAAY harder! Pia Arena MM 2023 version is best. Also, FYI for future reactions: On Babymetal’s channel, “Official” = MV or live with studio audio. “Official Live” has live audio. If you wanna see another epic ballad, but much heavier and faster, check out *Akatsuki* specifically Live at Budokan 2014. 🤘🦊
NIce reaction with good comments. I had to laugh when you commented on their fitness. Moa was once asked what her fitness routine was. She replied, "Being in Babymetal IS my fitness routine."
Babymetal love to fuze elements of other musical genres into their music. Its one of their signature things they have done throughout their career. EDM/house is a style that they have used a few times. Check out Metalizm and Time Wave from the same album for other examples of their use of electronic elements. And yes, Su's voice is amazing, especially when the song lets her really cut loose and belt. There was a Babymetal animated series with Warner Bros. that was in development for a while, but it got cancelled before it got past the planning phase.

I wasn't so sure about this song the first time I heard it (that disco beat at the start threw me a bit - it reminded me of the sort of music I really didn't like but that was impossible to avoid when I was a lot younger than I am now). The live version is so much better for me, the live instrumentals from the Kami Band are more pronounced and harder, Su's and Moa's live vocals of course and a couple of small but significant timing changes in a couple of spots, so I've come to really enjoy it after that first moment of hesitation.
👍 👍 Suggest going with HQ pro shot LIVE instead of these Official MV's as MV's are almost always studio audio over LIVE footage (their LIVE is always better than studio and the MV's have none of the awesome crowd interaction). Until next time.
