Had to put on my parka. That music gave me chills, too!
While I do have a special place in my heart for Tournemire, Vierne is absolutely my hands-down favorite! My professor on my Masters degree noted my particular enthusiasm for “fiery” organ works. He also noted how that attribute shown through on my playing of the more majestic and powerful hymns. And yes, Tutti is ALWAYS called for on works of this caliber!
Ones of these days, you have to pick up the finale from Symphony 5.
I can't disagree with the selection i find it just a shame the opening two movements of the first symphony are always overlooked. The Prelude and Fugue are very powerful and seem to be rarely played. Still wonderful playing and thanks for sharing.
