@@R1SmokeEater My last Big Apple visit was in 2014. I've had planned to visit Conexpo in Las Vegas, than CA, than NYC and last but not least Detroit in March 2020. Hartford used that same Mack as Tac1 years back, and it remained a spare for years after. Love those things....so majestic going through the streets. Newer pieces don't seem to have that "Umph," and to listen to a real siren is so nice. Love these older videos, back when they used their ears as a thermometer to feel if they needed to back out.
And the guys that rode in that beautiful rig were as tough as nails. What a gorgeous building. Look at that artwork then look at the new quarters. Oh the stories that firehouse could tell.
Nice. Worked in the 26 during the 90’s. Spent many days with 37Eng/40 Truck. Another group of great guys. Always a invite for breakfast or lunch. Many times caught Rescue in the Area on a run.
@@petertomasicchiosr.7230 As a rookie my first footpost was right by the firehouse. Needless to say the Brothers took me in as it was freezing out. That started a wonderful relationship with them. Once I hit patrol we stopped by for breakfast or lunch. Many softball games between us and them over the years. Xmas parties etc Unfortunately 9/11 put the brakes on things. But a wonderful group of guys.
Is it me, or, are those rigs really loud. The other thing i noticed, their tournout pants! Looks a lot like regurlar pants. Yes, i know it went from regular pants to the hip boots, then to tournout pants. Watched a youger fireman catch fire with hip boots on. Put a ladder up over a window, and the window blew out, fire road the wall up, till his pants caught fire. Never saw anyone come down faster yet! Oh, he was ok, a little singed around the nether region, but i doubt he'd ever make that mistake again!!!.....
How we forget how things have changed, how those halogen bars power draw was so high the bars moved so slow before it was started. But you could never beat a mac
Where I work in West Hartford,CT is a medical facility that the FD is constantly called to. The first-due rig to my building is a quint..Ladder 4, they recently took delivery of. Looking out the 4th floor window toward the entrance road was when I first saw it, and it was fitted with a "roto-ray"...that was what first caught my eye through the trees as it came up the hill; of course now it's all LED, but it's nice that they brought those back.
Hi, do you have any audio recordings or videos of Brooklyn fdny on July 4th 1990 AFTER 10pm? there was a large fire on Ave S and E 13th ,trying to find audio
to be fair, Qs are very loud bouncing off buildings all around you and there’s more people in NY now than there was in 92. I do agree though, it is nonsense and the politicians have gotten so soft about this kind of stuff

Love the Mack trucks!
Now that's some fantastic footage.
I used to go to this firehouse back when I was a kid and it was great
This is so cool!!!
That’s really fantastic
MC Mack. Garbage truck chassis. Very durable.
Love the Mack MR series trucks.
Curious, how does one distinguish a MR from a MC?
I think the MR is a little newer
Old school… NICE!
Imagine that truck is only 4 years old
When i turn down my volume all the way i can still hear
Awesome 👏🏻
From the year I was born!

I do believe that is a Mack MC cab.
And others that we lost that day

Maybe after?
This was after they moved back to The Bronx from 93/45
