The best rock and blues singer England has produced.
Loved his work for 50 years.
Seen live 4 times.
Astounding
Paul Rodgers is indeed an Englishman, but his is the best voice of the rock & blues genres the WORLD has ever produced! He is LEGEND! His voice is a GIFT from Heaven! His pipes are GOLDEN! His vocal ad-libs & inflections when singing come so NATURAL & INSTINCTUALLY to him - or better said, THRU him! Paul Rodgers was born to sing!
The first music album I ever owned, I bought at age 16 in 1975 when I began to awaken to the world of music. It was 1975’s “Straight Shooter”, Bad Company’s 2nd album. I was so impressed, within a week or two I went out and purchased their 1st album, “Bad Company”. Then, as their next four albums were released, I ran out and purchased them as well, adding them to my growing library of music albums. Today, at age 65 now, 49 years after buying my first music album, I own HUNDREDS of albums by MANY bands. Of all of them, Bad Co (with Paul Rodgers) is the ONLY band that I enjoy EVERY song of EVERY album they produced. Paul Rodgers has the gift of making anything he sings sound GOLDED. Just a few months ago, within a week of its release, I bought the first studio album of original songs produced by Paul in 24 years. “Midnight Rose” is a GEM! His soulful vocals at age 74 are as good as they ever were! I highly recommend it!
Paul Rogers is in my top 3 singers, no doubt. He started way back in the 60’s in a band called FREE. Check out Free’s song “All Right Now” (video). Thank you for this one!!
Hes in my top 3 too. I'm curious, who your 2 other favorites are.
@@dianahohimer1107 I would have to say Steve Perry and Chris Stapleton. And, can’t forget about Michael McDonald.
Beat me to the Free suggestion!
The greatest Rock vocalist of all time
In my top 3 also. Along with the two Steves - Marriott and Winwood
In my opinion he’s the #1 blues/rock singer of all time. He’s in his 60’s in this performance!
#1 in the blues/rock genre indeed! Some of the best rock vocalists have honestly admitted they wish they could sound as good as Paul.
Paul Rodgers is THE MASTER of rock voices! There is no one else.
Paul Rogers is all heart and soul... what an amazing voice and talent... a real class act front man.
Paul Rodgers is one of those BIG names from 1960's, 70's, and early 80's that just stands out. He is not just a vocalist, either, he is the total package: also playing piano (as you seen here), guitar, and drums. He was also in another big band called Free.
This album came out in 1974. First time I've heard Paul Rogers in later years, and he still sounds good here. One of the best, no doubt...
I've never seen this live before...only the studio version. Damn, these guys sound amazing! Usually singers voice fade with age but he's still got it!
Check out MY Bad Company memory. In either late 1973 or early 1974 the Edgar Winter Group was scheduled to play at the local coliseum, so I excitedly got tickets. There was always a pre-band or opening act back then, it really just meant we got two bands for the price of one. That night as the lights dimmed and musicians took the stage, we heard “Bad Company”, the song, and from the very start a fire was lit and people KNEW this wasn’t any regular band! The crowd in the coliseum could all tell it too. “Bad Company” was a brand new band breaking onto the scene, and that night after they finished their set, the Portland people didn’t want it to be over. We continued to applaud and voice our desire they return to the stage...I believe they did another pretty nice song, but then left. It was many minutes into the next band, still not so quiet rumblings about the greatness of that band! Edgar Winter and Rick Derringer, the all-American boy!, took a bit before the crowd made a peace and a transition to EWG. That’s what an instant impact the first iteration of Bad Company was, they exploded like bombs into the ears and hearts of music fans around the world! Mine included.
Here is a link to another live version of "Simple man". They may have gray hair, but they sound awesome. ua-cam.com/video/6qtPphSgMgM/v-deo.html
@@roymoore3156 Wow! What a great experience! The only time I appreciate being old is when I look back & realize how spoiled we were to have lived through all this great music!
@@stellamorgan482 AMEN to that, Stella‼️✌🏽
@@stellamorgan482 Right on Stella! It’s fun to remember truthfully what we went through back when we could! I feel like we struck gold being in the strata we were. So many historical opportunities to experience and the price was Sooooo reasonable compared to now. I saw Clapton and Bob Dylan at Nuremberg in 1978 and ticket cost was $25.00 American per ticket. Those days are gone!
Paul's vocals are legendary. Once dubbed as simply ..."The Voice".
It's nice to see you becoming familiar with so much music from the past. There's so many good bands from the 60's 70's 80's and on. Absolutely worth listening to and knowing about the explosion of music from those era's.
"Silver Blue and gold" should be your next hit by These guys.
Paul Rodgers is one of the best vocalists of his time if not for all time. I'm just amazed at his age right here in this video that his voice is still top notch. He can still carry a tune. That's more than you can say for a lot of singers from the 70s
I was lucky to see them in concert twice in one weekend. My friend got sick and gave me ticket for the next night.....she knew i loved them AND they sound awesome Live. Paul Rogers....what a voice! I was 18....i'm 62 now and gma still loves them! Great Pick!❤❤
So glad you younger folks are giving our older FAVORITES a listen to!! Thanks Adogg❤. Paul has always been a favorite of mine and I’m 63 😊
Paul Rogers was with "Free" before Bad Company and just had a ridiculous voice... like fully charged. It was so good that even when his range dropped, he was still in the top ten vocalists of all time.
I grew up on Southern Rock and didn't find out until I was in my thirties that they were a British band. It pissed me off a bit at the time, because I was a purist when it came to my Southern experience... but years later, I no loner live in The Deep South, and have learned to take in so much more.
Paul Rogers is one of the best! Bad Company was the first band signed by LED Zeppelin’s label, Swan Song. I discovered Paul Rogers when he was with Free, and the song “Alright Now”.
One of the purest voices in rock
I used to cruise around in my SS396 1969 Chevelle , with my lady at my side , rockin to these guys ! Great band !
Great memory! Do you still have that car ?
In ‘75 thru ‘78 I played my Bad Co 8-tracks while cruisin’ with my girlfriends in my pristine 4-year-old ‘71 Plymouth Barracuda (blue with white vinyl top / blue interior) and then my ‘74 Plymouth ‘Cuda 360-4 (yellow with black vinyl top / black interior). I had friends that drove Super Sport Chevelles: ‘67s thru ‘72s. Those were the days, eh! Fine music & fine rides were everywhere back then!
You should check out lead singer Paul Rodgers when he was with earlier band Free- All Right Now ( doing their thing) live 1970.
Yes,he would love that song!
@@maryannturton9830 indeed!
Paul Rodgers is generally considered one of the best male rock vocalists there ever was. Not only his power and skill buyers way he has been able to preserve that power, skill and quality over 60 years of singing. Glad you enjoyed, you have great taste
Saw them back in the late 70's in concert. One of the best concerts I've ever seen. One of my favorite singers.
I just love the looks you give when discovering the music from when I was growing up! It's like we can see your thinking, am I really hearing this! It's even better when you get to see them LIVE! Definitely one of the best concerts I went to, although there were a lot of best concerts...lol
The singer, "Paul Rodgers" (from England, as is the Band Bad Company) is generally considered to be among the top 3 or 4 Rock/soul voices in Rock music, all time. He made a song in 1970 I think called "Alright Now," with his first band called "Free." Find it and watch it. It will Blow your mind. The song "Alright Now," has been used so many times in movies, tv shows, and commercials, not to mention by marching bands at college football games etc. Even if you don't recognize the song, by the title name "Alright Now," once you hear it, the odds are pretty good, you'll smile and say, "Oh yeah, I've heard this before." Find the video of the Band Free, performing their song "Alright Now," and see a very young Paul Rodgers singing with a lot of soul.
Thanks friend.
Yes, Paul is one of the all time greats - this is the voice of the seminal British rock band Free. Their 'All Right Now' is one of the most radio played songs in history.
Best hard rock vocals ever. He and Steve Perry were both called "the voice" for a reason.
He kept his voice throughout the years. Definitely top 5
One of the best blues voices of my generation. Live this guy is amazing.
He is considered by some one of the top singers in rock...nice call dogg.
Listened to this Bad Company album the summer before 7th grade every day! Every song is worth a listen.Paul Roger's has one of the best voices, and the band rocks!🎙🎸🥁🎛🎶🤘
Definitely one of my favorite singers!! I love this band. And the drummer!!
Paul Rodgers is a vocal god. Definitely one of the best.
Paul Rodgers is one of the best, in my opinion!
Got to see them live at Summer Jam in 1979 and they were just as awesome live as recorded! I sure was lucky enough to grow up in the 60’s. New music every day on the radio 🔥🎸☮️👵🏼 I’m 70 years old and I still love all the music I grew up with. 😎
Yeahhhhhhh!!!!
Paul was and still is the GOAT. They don't call him The Voice for nothing. He is is consistently praised by other front men vocals for being their favorite singer
An amazing singer , his voice is incredible
Paul Rogers is called "THE Voice" by many Famous Artists!! He was with the band called FREE before Bad Co. I've been in love w/his singing since around 1969. Love your reaction! Check out Ready For Love* Fire & Water* & Wishing Well.. Too many to list, but he does not disappoint 💯👍🏼 He also toured w/Queen as their front man after Freddie Mercury died. One of the Best singers ever!
Almost forgot this one but you NEED to check it out-"Muddy Water Blues " or ANY song off the album (same name)🔥
He put a really cool spin on those Queen songs too!
My very first concert was a group called FREE. Paul Rogers was phenomenal way back then . I saw his Bad Co tour called Burning Sky. I also saw Bad Co again 4 summers ago. Wow, he rocks!
For their self titled 1st album, I remember being told that for this song...they went to a large house in the country. They went into separate rooms with their instruments...and Paul Rogers was outside in the field with headphones. I sometimes imagine what it must have been like, standing in a field at night singing to the moon.
They are absolutely one of the best bands to ever do it ❤❤❤
One of The Best vocalists! ✌️❤️❤️❤️❤️
One of the GREATS !
One of my all-time favorite singers in all of rock.
Definitely one of the best rock singers for sure
Yeah, great reaction. 👏
Remember at the end of the
Humble Pie/
Black Coffee video, the host names
Robert Plant
Paul Rogers ⭐
Steve Marriott
as some of Britain's top vocalists.
Great song.
I see you enjoying and pointing out the exact same things that we loved the most living through this great music.
Certain parts or arrangements, the voices, or guitar riffs. Funny I don't remember discussing those details myself with friends at the time. 🙆
Just loving it, that's all.
😊✌💙
Agreed - Marriott then Rogers - two of the greatest singers of the 60/70's.
Yes Adogg, he is one of the best singers and many think he's the best voice in Rock. I'm one of them to. Thank you for the video, Much love.
Yep, he's one the best. Especially live. The studio stuff is amazing, but Rodgers voice is so smooth that it's not as intense as watching him sing. Always loved this performance. Great choice. I enjoyed watching you enjoy it.
Yes, he is usually in the top of most lists. He has lent his voice to several bands. Check out Paul Rodgers with these bands/songs.
Free - Wishing Well, I'll Be Creepin', or the more widely known All Right Now - though I recommend the first one, then the second one.
Bad Company - She Brings Me Love, Ready For Love, Rock n' Roll Fantasy, and Shooting Star
The Firm (with Jimmy Page from Led Zeppelin) - Radioactive, All The Kings Horses, Satisfaction Guaranteed
Even Freddie Mercury from Queen admired Paul. You should check out Queen and Paul Rodgers. He made Me love Queen.
And that's saying something!!!!!!!!
Paul Rogers also sang with the super-group, The Firm, as well as Free. His singing style influenced Ronnie Van Zant of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Paul is definitely a top tier vocalist. He even did a stint with Queen after Freddie Mercury died. " Silver, Blue and Gold" from Bad Company and "Satisfaction Guaranteed " by The Firm are my favorite vocals by Paul.
Bad Company with Elvin Bishop was my first concert I ever went to in 1977, I was 16 years old! Awesome concert! Got the drummers drumstick from Elvin Bishop band.
Yes he is was from the time he started. From the 1960s this man has rocked the vocal stakes. Paul Rogers is great, a vocal rock god.🇦🇺🎸⚡️🤘🏿🤘🏼💋❤️
When Freddie Mercury says you have the best vocals in rock music you have something special. Someone asked him once how it felt to have the best voice in rock and his response was I don't know as Paul Rodgers.
Paul Rodgers is the quintessential rock and roll voice !
For sure he's top 5
Paul Rodgers is insanely talented as a Lead Vocalist, and it's hard to find the words.
He is one of the all-time best, in my opinion.
No Autotune here, ladies and gentlemen.
Bad Company was personally selected by led Zeppelin to be the first band signed to their new label, Swan Song, other than themselves, of course. & Paul Rogers was & is a phenomenal talent. Check the studio versions. Lord, he had the power.
Saw Bad Company in 2010 at an outdoor venue. They wrre amazing. Paul Rodgers voice is so clean and strong. In my opinion a top 3 vocalists of all time. His voice has remained the same throughout his career.
I saw BC (with Paul) open for ZZ Top in Austin a few years ago and they were simply perfect. Paul's voice stole the show.
One of the best singers ever!! Definitely one of my favorite bands, they sound awesome live too
Paul Rodgers definitely in the top 10 , with both Free and Bad Company . 👍🏻
Bad Company's a hole worth digging deep in to!
Favorite voice. Seagull is my favorite Bad Company song.
I love bad company period...I remember buying their albums back in the day when yes you still bought records and played them on a record player...super great band..also dire straits...love the fact that you love this band...great reaction..
Do rock in roll fantasy next..
You'll love it..
He`s my favorite rock singer of all time. And he`s pushing 70 years old in this vid
Paul Rodgers is one of the greatest rock vocalists of the 70’s. Unreal that they are not in the hall of fame yet!
Bad Company #1 since they started in 1973! Paul Roger's even before that. He was in the Firm, The Band, Free, and of course Bad Company.
When I saw you were doing Bad Co again, I had to crank up the volume! Listen to ROCK & ROLL FANTASY....SHOOTING STAR.....FEEL LIKE MAKIN' LOVE......
Definitely Top 3… such power, so spicy.. yet soothing!!! 🔥🤘😎💜
Paul Rodgers is my #1 rock singer hands down! He is phenomenal!
I borrowed the cassette from my dad and played the shit out of it. What a band. I’m 50 now and hope the younger ones find them too
Actually yes. He was ranked by Rolling Stone magazine as in the top 10 best singers of all times lol. 😂
Seen them in 1978, Madison Square Gardens in NY. Killer show !!!!
Top 5 singers of all time!!!!
Paul Rodgers was the main influence for Ronnie Van Zant of Lynard Skynard namely the song It's All Right Now, record by the group Free fronted by Rodgers in 1970.
Ya brother . Go back and listen to Free and then the entire Bad Company collection when he was lead singer. He was and surprisingly still as bad ass as ever. I wore out the 8 tracks of Bad Company
Remember seeing Bad Company when I was around 17...They sound as good today as they did back then...Wow...
It's me again this was my first concert. It was 1978 in Huntsville Al.He is another Steve Perry with that voice.
Listen to the song " Woman".. when Paul Rogers was the leader of the group "Free".
He's amazing!
Yes he is one of the greats when it come to singing.
I bought this tape when it first came out. I wore it out and replaced it 2 more times
Great Choice brother! Bad Company was 🔥
Bad Company is just "BAD" in a great way. Yes Paul Rodgers is called "The Voice" for a reason. Top 5 band for me. Top 5 vocals too.
Definitely top 15.
Totally underrated.
More soul in his voice than any white dude deserves.
Check out his earlier stuff with Free.
I wouldn't say Paul Rogers is "underrated," pretty much everyone knows how great he is.
Damn right. One of the greatest voices.
Check out their "Ready for Love." It will blow you out of your seat.
Pretty sure Rolling Stone’s magazine ranked him (Paul Stanley) in the top 10 singers of all times.
Paul is a legend 🤘
I saw Bad Co. in concert so many times, one of the first albums I bought. Better live!!!!!
In 2000 my Dad took me to Music Millennium in Portland Oregon. Paul Rogers was there signing albums for a solo release. He was also promoting a brand of acoustic guitar he was affiliated with.
My dad was playing one of the guitars and finger picking in a style that he does. Paul Rogers approached him and asked him to show him. My dad is self taught and became flustered and told him he didn’t really know how he did it and didn’t know how to teach him.
Paul Rogers got really pissy and and said “Eyy, Mate, ‘fraid I’m going to steal it from you, or something? You don’t have to be like that.”
My dad sat the guitar down, stood up and said loudly “FUCK YOU, PAUL ROGERS.”
We got escorted out. And that is the story of my Dad almost getting into a fist fight with Paul Rogers when I was 16.
Paul Rodgers is indeed one of the best singers. I would suggest some of Gregg Allman's solo work, such as "Please Call Home," "Multi-Colored Lady," "Turn On Your Lovelight" (live from Carnegie Hall); "I Found A Love," "Queen of Hearts." ... his music encompassed so much more than his work with the Allman Brothers Band. I promise you won't regret listening to any of these songs.
Dude, this song was on the radio all the time when it came out!! One of my favorites 💜
their whole concert at wembley is on you tube. AMAZING!!!!!
One of the best singers of rock and roll 😎👍
Best Rock Voice Ever. Good lovin gone bad (studio version)
Excellent . True Rock & Roll.
Look so much older... had seen them since 79, 80!!!!
Yes!
For me Paul is number one. Great vocals.
Free, Bad Company, and The Firm….Paul Rodgers -he’s a tenor, great vocalist. ❤️🎼❤️
