Baguio is a great place to stay during summer and December, but you should consider also the rainy season when most of the storms traverse Northern Luzon. If you are not used to it like the locals, then it might be a scary experience for first timers like you. As a precaution also, please do not travel the winding zigzag road of Baguio during stormy weather as these hilly mountains are prone to landslides. Eventhough there are many things to consider, Baguio still offers many beautiful things in Nature as it is abundant in flowers, fruits and vegetables typical of places with cold weather and many Filipinos will still consider living there if there's a chance.

I was sent by my parents to study in Baguio (coming from US). Baguio is the best place to study, no hot weather! Love the university years I spent there. There were so many international students like myself during my stay there. Come early next time, or start contacting property management companies for any available place to locate for a place for you ahead of time.

What is "no hot weather"? To me 75 F is already hot. What's the hottest temp (F) in Baguio?

No hot weather - coming from where I am from, Summer weather is between 90 F to 105-106 F - that is hot! ...plus include the humidity factor. I do not know exactly the hottest temp in Baguio. Never bothered to checked while i was there. I just enjoyed the fine weather!

Baguio is a great city. For tourists. Stay 2 weeks max. Then go back again.
Iloilo is livable city. It is a city where people and their family want to live. It has a balance of modernity and nature. Clean and green. Progress and history. Culture and education. Recently declared as the first UNESCO Creative City for Gastronomy in the Philippines. It is recognized as the biking capital of the Philippines. Oliver is right when he chose to live in Iloilo.

You should have stayed in Pampanga around angeles city of san fernando city. Lot's of korean, even korean vloggers like Jessica Lee and Krispypata and it's very clean around clark city, lot's of schools like international schools or public and private. Many coffee shops, malls and places you can go, it's near also in beaches like Zambales, Bataan, Pangasinan, La union and near also in Manila which is only 40 to 1hr away and Baguio which is 3 hrs away. You can experience nature and city life at the same time in pampanga.

@6:19: there are many villages developed by ayala, villar, greenfield, eton, empire east (megaworld), etc in & around nuvali.
there are many well known schools as well (de la salle, st. scholastica, xavier, miriam, acacia waldorf + international schools like brent, beacon, everest academy, etc.) in the area.
the nuvali area also provides wide open spaces filled with greenery.
plus all the modern conveniences of malls, recreational facilities, hospitals, banks, gyms, cafes, etc.
that is why filipino celebrities also live in the area.
btw, there are many Koreans who live there as well. in fact, i used to tutor Korean kids who study in brent & la salle.

What a drive but its fun as long as you have plenty of time and rest. We only go to Baguio for a vacation (only 3-4 hours drive from Manila) even every week if you can. Sta. Rosa is a large city in Laguna, the one you drove by is at Nuvali vicinity (west side going near to Tagaytay) of the city, this is high-class area (mostly Ayala & Villar owned, big land developers) and exclusive residential rentals are high but its a beautiful place highly recommended if have bigger budget since many affluent Filipinos and foreign retirees live there. The older city of Sta. Rosa town proper is on the other side of South Expressway, a bit crowded but you can find cheaper rentals, just avoid some flood identified areas, and look for gated subdivisions. Other cities in Laguna as options are Canlubang, Binan and San Pedro (west side nearest to Metro Manila). There are many affordable, convenient and safe places to live in Metro Manila for foreigners just have to ask proper persons depending on your family's needs and requirements.

Hope you will be happy in Iloilo. And just a piece of advice, before moving anywhere and not just in the Philippines, you need to do research. Find out the cost of living, how much the rent costs, and an idea of the area you want to move to so you can start looking for a rental before leaving your current place.

You still can go back to Baguio but you have to plan it and find a house before actually going there. You jump from one place to another with no plans at all! Good luck though!

If you guys are interested, we're actually selling our property here in Cainta, RIzal, maybe you'd like to check it out, or maybe you'd like to try and stay here in Rizal, it is a province that is very near Metro Manila, so it's very accessible. It is also near Antipolo, which has a lot of beautiful sceneries. And also, our area here is flood-free, since the area of our property here is high. If you're interested, I actually emailed you for the details. I hope you guys could check it out, thank you!
