Brock Lesnar vs Punk was really good, and i think it was the last time Lesnar used variation of moves. And Daniel Bryan career took off after that amazing match with Cena, and Orton cash in made him a top heel, him leading to WrestleMania with Barista and Bryan was one of the best story in PG era.

Summerslam ‘07 was the very first DVD (along with wrestlimania 24) that my parents bought me. Being pretty new to wrestling at the time, it almost had the same effect on me cause it was technically my first PPV, thankfully I also had wrestlmania to watch right after though.
My folks ordered Summerslam 1995. I was 8 years old. That first match was a solid match. The only things I remember from that show is Bret Hart getting choked out by Isaac Yankem, the casket match was a slug to watch. Alundra Blayze and big Bertha Faye. That ladder match with Razor and Shawn was golden. I wanted Razor to win tho.
I had friends stay over that night in 2007 to watch SummerSlam. I remember falling asleep halfway through. I stopped watching WWE for a couple of years after it. It was so bad.
Summerslam 2023 in my humble opinion is the worst PLE of the Triple H era. The first 2 matches were great and then it fell off from there. The completely pointless slim Jim battle royal, Ronda vs Shayna being possibly the worst match of 2023, Drew and Gunther having an above average match, a decent triple threat match for the women’s title, Finn Balor getting snubbed out of the world title once again, and a slow and boring main event where the rules of Tribal Combat were broken twice and was followed by a still-unnecessary Jimmy Uso heel turn
The reason I think summerslam 07 got a lot of buys is because this was the first time wwe got mainstream attention since the attitude era. Plus like eric bischoff said controversy creates cash.

I think Rey was supposed to be Silver Surfer since Fantastic Four 2: Rise Of The Silver Surfer came out in June 2007, 2 months before Summerslam
