Was so happy that Will Young won. I remember hubby and I watching the final, willing (no pun intended) Will to win (no catchphrase intended either!). We had this terrible feeling that Gareth Gates, with his cute baby face, would win, but we honestly thought Will was miles better as a singer. I remember some of the behind the scenes filming they showed where Will was belting out tunes by the piano - it was incredible, real talent. We actually cheered and whooped when they announced it was Will who'd won lol. He thoroughly deserved it and we're still listening to his voice to this day eh. Staying power because he has true talent. On a more sombre note, I see Darius Danesh there behind Will - RIP Darius. 😢
Will is so talented. And so handsome too - he was one of my early teen crushes. 🥰 I'm so glad he managed to distance himself from the associations with Pop Idol though, despite being the original Pop Idol, and actually went on to have an incredibly long lasting career.
