    Did you notice how once Riggo gets in the endzone he just drops the ball and jogs to the sideline? No showboating, just another day at the office. True professional...

      You're right, but he did have a bottle of Jack Daniels under the bench and was feeling pretty good towards the end of the 4th quarter. He talked about it on his radio show years ago 🤣🤣🤣

      Riggins was old school - some forget that he started his NFL career in 1971 - he had his best years more than a decade later - not many RB's last nearly that long in the NFL - if you watch old playoff games or super bowls from late 60's / early 70's - you don't see much of any celebrating after great plays - they just went back to the huddle or to the sideline and got on with the game - every time Riggins got into the endzone - it was no big deal for him - he had been there many times - and would be there again soon ..

      Yes sir thank you that’s because he was a professional now you have all these egotistical athletes that have to choreograph a touchdown dance bye 2030. The NFL is going to be the WWE. I hate all the celebration bullshit if you want your buddy let an offensive lineman pick you up over his head, maybe a kick ass handshake that I could never figure out throw the ball to your wife for child but you start getting the whole team involved and you’re doing leapfrog rowing a boat the kid played dance from house party come on already give it a grok thunder spike, and let’s move on You know what I like you’re in the fourth quarter you’re losing 31 to 6. There’s four minutes left. You just got a first down. Let’s say it was fourth and eight you get up and signal the first down marker with your arm and then a player from the winning team says look at the scoreboard bro.

      @stevecvino Big money runs football now. All that childish showboatings are resumes and auditions for endorsement deals. Although I get the feeling it backfires on the showboaters. Instead of looseballing across the goal line like every fool does. Double arm clutch it until you cleared the entire end zone. You will get noticed and not look like Desean Jackson fumbling before the end zone. I would consider buying a product from a guy who makes a winning move and not a fumbling Leon Lett move.

    What a team that was! I'd give anything to have an o-line that talented on our present team. And this organization, if you can call it that, should still be doing more to honor Darrell Green. How incredible was he in this game? ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

      Here's a fun fact for you and I know we don't know each other, but my uncle knew Darrell Green personally. When my uncle worked construction down in Virginia during the eighties, he worked on Darrell's house. He also attended Redskins games and sat right next to his wife. Pretty funny considering the fact my uncle is a Giants fan, but he said those were great times and moments he was happy to be a part of.

      The best part about that Oline is that Bobby Beathard kept bringing in more talent. By 1991 the Oline bench was deep. They had at least 7 dominant O lineman and that’s just me counting guys on a weak memory. Lachaey, McKensie, Bostic, Schlreth, Jacoby, Simmons, Grimm .. I bet I missed a guy or 2. No team has had depth that strong that I can recall.

    Of the Top 50 All-time Carries NFL Season by a running back, only 4 players were 30+yrs when they did it: 1)Walter Payton- 1984 381 attempts(31yrs), 2)John Riggins- 1983 375 attempts(34yrs), 3)Curtis Martin- 2004 371 attempts(31yrs), 4)Tiki Barber- 2005 357 attempts(30yrs).
    The record is held by Larry Johnson at 416 attempts in 2006 at 26yrs old! Riggins also had 327 attempts in 1984 at 35yrs old. His nickname 'The Diesel' was well earned!

    7:42 Don Warren contains the end, Jacoby kicks out and removes the safety from the play but the key to this play is Art Monks block on Leroy Irvin. This is why Art Monk was the best WR in the era I watched football. Sure he was a great pass receiver, not the best at any one task but great at every aspect of the game including blocking.

    • @MaximusWolfe
      @MaximusWolfe Рік тому

      At that time he certainly was the best at his position the world over. He was eclipsed by Rice but to be fair, so is every receiver who ever played the game. Monk is easily among the 10 best in my book though. Like you said, he excelled in every aspect of split end.

In week 5 that season the Raiders went into RFK without Marcus Allen (injured) and before they made the trade for Mike Haynes and still gave the Skins all they could handle. I had said this recently about celebrations they’re fucking ridiculous. The league is going to turn into the WWE soon. I get it knowledge a couple of your players your teammates the crowd and go on with it. My favorite is.=======
    Under four minutes to go fourth-quarter, you’re losing 31 to 6. Your team
    Goes for it on fourth down you pick up the first down, jump up. Tell everybody in the stadium and all the viewers on TV. You got the first down by jumping up, giving the first down marker with your arm, pointing that way down the field and then a player from the team that is winning Comes over and says look at the scoreboard bro, but you just got the first down so you had to let everybody in the country know : what a joke !

    The 83 super bowl was the most disappointing super bowl. everyone was expected a heavyweight fight between the Raiders and the Redskins and it was a blow out.
