im so glad Phil Lamar came to the show! when i saw his name i was like 'oh! phil lamar!? i gotta watch this!'
I told myself i wasnt going to watch this all in one go, i did! love all you guys talked about. i remember the Snorks (loved it as a kid) and i love Futurama.
i had to think a little; crazy thinking about the fact i remember Mr. Lamar in Pulp Fiction. have to rewatch it now :)
thank yo all for doing these shows. love em and much admiration for you.
you guys made my childhood!
shout out to the late Paul Reubens
7:54 glad Phil addressed this as he did. I miss Apu in Simpsons
I met Phil once when he was hosting the Eisner Awards at San Diego Comic Con! It was very brief but a friend of his was sitting at my table and they wanted a picture together. I offered to take the picture for them but I think it didn't come out right. I hope some time I can make it up to him!
I've never seen Phil LaMarr with facial hair haha!
Me neither.
Before long, he'll be 60!
Nor have I seen him with a mustache.
He looks good with facial hair.
Jim, your Carol Channing impression is right on point.
You need to get Frank Welker on
Watching Winnie the Pooh 2011 for the first time. I’m a millennial and I’m not caught up on the newer Pooh stuff. I’m spending the holidays alone due to my work schedule and unfortunate circumstances, so it’s really a great comfort to me to have more soft content and this podcast as well. Thank you ❤
My goodness your voices... thank you gentlemen for being a source of much laughter over the years. Gotta say the UPS guy has to be one of my favorite live action characters. Thank you!
I love Phil!
Two of my favorite legends in the building! 💯
One role Jim has done is Big Book from Belle's Tales of Friendship, which I watched with my sister all the time. I always wanted to give that book a hug he was so sweet. It's a more obscure role, but it sticks with me now anytime I hear Jim's voice, and it sounds a lot like his voice in Skyrim as Vignar Gray-Mane.
A Quentin Tarantino movie about Samurai Jack would be awesome.
I was a huge fan of Winnie the Pooh but Jim’s character for me is most definitely Darkwing Duck!
Phil's another one of my childhood heroes!!
Jim, today is Bill Farmer’s 71st birthday!
I am a big fan of both work keep it up
This rocks!
Vamp! What a legend!
37:00 That's a really good comparison. You really do absorb certain things in your childhood, and they hit you just the same no matter how long it's been. It's part of our instinct, we imprint on things. So your mom's voice is still your mom's voice many decades later.. and so is Pooh's.
Glad to see Marvin is doing better after the accident... 😅
Yay! 😊
Cat and Virgil is all I hear 😂
I love Phil LaMarr I love him in MadTV Futurama Samurai Jack Foster’s Home for Imaginary Friends many other things and He’s also one of Green Lanterns in Justice League cartoons
You should have Steve whitmire in the podcast in the next video
He voiced Anago from The Hiro’s!
Phil LaMarr was also Barry Allen or the Flash from DC Superhero girls 2019.
Minsc gave me that feeling of wonder. He's one of the examples of 'never meet your heroes' now.
5:48 jump scare
I got a lot of comic book friends who don't understand why I like Jon Stewart green lantern more than Hal Jordan
Its because of Phil Lamarr's portrayal of green lantern!
To be fair, he's in more episodes of JLU than any other character (though I've never been able to determine why)
Maybe they were busy or had a higher pay rate, but Justice League Unlimited IS the Phil Lamarr Green Lantern show; he is in more episodes than almost any other character and I wouldn't have it any other way; he's fantastic!
👍
Is jim cummings our dad?
He was Sarge?
GO FOR THE EYES BOO!!
Phil larr was in the Timon & pumbaa animated series
Are you sure he was?
Timestamps?
Remember he was an extra on
Spiderman 2?
Acting like some random guy on
A train.😂
“The color of the character doesn’t matter.” Ah, only the CONTENT does 👌
Considering some stuff Phil has said recently, I think he needs to take that message a bit more to heart. Or at least stop being a hypocrite.
@KairuHakubi what happened?
@@maggiemccauslin1084 i think Phil started complaining about how a white guy voiced Cleveland in Family Guy and then when Clevland show got created, they didn't cast a black guy for him.
14:15
Phil was in pulp fiction
They talk about that

7:40 wow.. what an armor-piercing question. LaMarr has been super doublestandard overtly-anti-white about this issue, been a mouthpiece for it since he gets to voice white and Asian characters, but criticizes white guys for doing anything but their own... To confront him with "what if black, but a different _kind_ of black? is that okay?" Maaaddest respect to that guy for bringing that up. He just made Phil backpedal _hard._ And without bringing up any of the hypocrisy or being confrontational at all.
Now someone send this to Kelly Hu.
"LaMarr y Herman...tha Friqq y Fraqq, tha Beavis y Butthead aw Futurama, King of the Hill, mj b'lawd MadTV (schie getts noo resspeccht, noo resspeccht at all)."
Is that daws butler
"22:03...taphr, bat varth itt tou a mammal. Jou knoov vhat thej sej. Iff jou can't taek tha heat gett tha hell avej fram California. That plaesc vuld bie varth settinh fut apon jast asz suun asz tha plannett blessessz as vitth an iisc aedz."
that is the most incredible almost-unreadable dialect writing I've ever seen. Bravo.
So I take it people aren't showing off their Samurai Jack tattoos.
Here's a few requests for your podcast, Jim:
Fred Tatasciore, Cree Summer, Grey Delisle
Don't do them all at once, just one at a time in each video.
THX!
I don't like the Jamaican question. Not only that but he played samurai jack, that character is more fitting of that question , even though again, I don't like the question
Hermes was a Jamaican character though..
Have I misunderstood your comment???
He didn't ask him if samurai jack should have become Jamaican
They were talking about the character Dexter changing to Hermes the Jamaican....maybe I'm confused by what you said ....
The question was if people of a different race should play people of other races, wouldnt it have been a better if the guy asking the question actually gave a proper example of Lamar voicing a different race? Like samurai jack as opposed to someone of Lamars same race like Hermes ?
@@smxwing That's just it. He did what Star Trek has done for decades. He didn't ask the obvious question, which Phil has already answered before ("no, oppressed minorities can do whatever we want, white people should be forbidden."), instead, he brought up a question that forces you to look at it differently. Because where does it end? If you've gotten everyone in the APPROXIMATELY right race in casting, THEN what? we've been casting koreans and japanese and chinese and thai and vietnamese interchangeably for like 60 years now. Do we start picking THAT apart? Start playing the oppression card, whose ancestors warcrimed whose? Who's to say what is the "same race" i don't think back in africa, the people who would someday become americans would think of the people who would become jamaicans as "the same as them." and the ones who sold them (somali etc) suuure didn't.
And because he asked that, Phil was forced to backpedal, and shoot his old message in the foot. Amazingly done.
Phil looks like he is wearing make up to age him, but hes not...i feel old!
"..ethnicch raesc, rochgraphicch raesc ar athrveis, tha meir semmblansc therr issz bietveen tha charactr y thie actr tha less 1 qvaliffeisz as an actr; that's tha point, actrs arr sapooszd tou plej charactrs, not plej themmsellwsz (luchinh at jou; Disney/Pixar). Vhat a stuupidd croch de bullfecce."
jeez. phil does not age at all. He looks like hes wearing minimal makeup to look like an old man for a mad skit
It's a cliche but it's true. Black really doesn't crack.
Cartoons have gotten worse, including Futurama. A lot of them suck.
