Do you know what watt is for the light you use to cure?
The Let's Resin lamp just says 36w max input, it doesn't show output, sorry Coral, it's pretty powerful though.
Awesome thank you
We gotcha TEACH!
Lordy, Lordy! I've seen almost everything now! I watched people putting sand, nail polish eye shadow, cement, and condiments in resin, now, you're doing bubbles! I feel blessed if I can get my resin to cure without sticky spots! AMAZING!!
Absolutely gorgeous effects!!!! Great job!!
Who would have thought?
BTW, you have the cutest laugh!😂
I'm gobsmacked! Bubbles in resin now good! How cool. Will need to try this sometime.
Pushing that envelope lol, they look great!! 👀
Thanks Dawn :)
Love them 😍
Love how these turned out!
Gorgeous Daniel! Like little moon spots. TYFS!
Very welcome and thank you 😊
Great tutorial as usual. Thanks Daniel. Gonna do this with the two teenage ladies this weekend. 😁
Major kuddos they turned out wonderful ❤❤
Wow! This is beautiful 😍
Watching you blow bubbles made me smile!
It cheered me up today too 😂
It’s wild how much crossover there is between resin and nail art! This was a nail trend a couple years ago and it’s back with resin. I have done my nails for many years and SO many of my supplies end up on my resin table. 😂
Same with soapmaking!
I use to know a family who worked hard to build their nail salon. In the 90s here in US it was a huge business. I had my acrylic nails done, and had the most interesting artworks done. Many techs started getting sick. So, resin is now being incorporated as a nail covering???
Yup, I've been doing nails over 30 years!!!
@@ntyler71 What, if I may ask do you like doing more so than others?
Love them Daniel ❤️
Pretty!
Love your Intro! And shure your art
Hello Daniel just watched you making these it was very fun .Absolutely beautiful results .Its just a technique sky is the limit so you can I know will make many beautiful art pieces.
Thankyou so much for your kindness ☺️☺️
Thanks for watching 😊 I will definitely be trying some new things with this! 😊🥰
these resemble dinasour skin/scales. Sooooo Kewlllll
I am so trying this, was so fun watching you do it
Great idea Daniel, there is no way I could make all these ideas, I would go broke. lol.
Thank you 😊 I definitely get through some resin! 😂
Game changer hack😍
Thank you 😊
Sweet!
I may try this on one of my next projects.
Those are Awesome
That's pretty cool. And you got to be a kid again;)
"I havent done this since I was a kid!" I love it! ❤️ I could hear the joy in your voice when you said that. We should all strive to craft like a kid and find our joy again! ❤️❤️
Beautiful pieces..Very nice.
I find working with micas, flakes and coatings on a sheet of plain paper helps to recover excess or OOPS.
AMAZING ❤❤❤❤
woow this is amazing 👍👍👍
I like smaller bubbles.i put my dish soap mix in a bowl with a lid that seal and shook it up real good and used my hand to place the bubbles.
Looks like craters on the moon and some reptile scales. Very cool effects, I absolutely love it
It's cute how giggly you get when it comes to blowing the bubbles with the straw or even just talking about putting the bubbles onto the UV resin 😆
😂😂😂🥰
It never ceases to amaze me. The concepts, the experimentation... Resin Pouring... SCIENCE! Dig It!
🤘😃🤘
It's crazy isn't it! I think I need to watch more UA-cam videos 😂🤣
Hi Daniel these are so cool , nice work thanks for sharing ❤️
Thanks 😀 Very welcome 🙏
Great results 👏
Thanks Anna 😊
I wish I could get mine to turn out!! I know this video is a year old but I always watch your videos at least 2x!
Great job again!!
wow! Heading over to follow her now!
Thank you 😊
Pretty cool 😎
Thanks Carol 😊
It looks like the surface of the moon!! Love it!
Love this effect...have to have a giggle, one min getting bubbles out ..next putting them in.
😂😂😂
I've done that more than once opening the powders. Lol
Very nice effects. They look great. ♥️
FYI more soap less water, bubbles will last longer and you don’t run risk of excessive water in resin ♥️
Thanks Maddie 😊 Was my 1st time, next time will be much better 😊
Bellissimo 👏👏👏
Thank you 😊
wow bubbles galore. what a great idea. Thanks Dan for all you do for resincraft. I truly enjoy all you have done. I have only been interested in resin for a couple of months. Keep the video's coming and I will keep learning.
Great work thanks for sharing
Thank you 😊
@@daniel..cooper you’re welcome ☺️
You should do that in the holographic mold
I saw Sherry Moulton do this a couple of times. It is indeed Super cool. A beautiful technique. 💕😊
It almost looks like the surface of the moon.
A fun technique with a good result, beautiful. 😊😊
So much fun, thanks as always Gulma 😊😚
I know what I’ll be trying when I get home from work today. Very cool.
Yay! Have fun Robert! 😊
Love bubbles. Sheri Moulton has a great UA-cam video about bubble coasters. Hope this helps too.
Thanks Patti, will check it out 😊
Loooooove these. The second one is my favorite….. This creation is on my list. As always, thank you
Great video. Thanks 🙏🏾
Thanks
Wow, Thank you so much for the Super Thanks Jenny 🥰
I’ve seen this technique, looks interesting. Maybe you need more dish soap? Looks really cool. Kinda like a cratered moon.
Definitely! Thanks Katrin 🥰
Awesome!! They look like they came from the moon! 😃💙💜
Thanks Dawn, that's my next project 😊😊
Those are so cool! I love those chameleon powders!
It often looks even better on the reverse side. I love the effect this gives it is so simple yet really effective. Tfs
Oooh, I need to try that now! 😂 Thank you 😊
Great fun. I use this technique on nails with gel polish. I make my bubbles in a container with a lid, just leave space for the bubbles, lid it up and shake. You get much smaller bubbles which are less watery and easier to handle. Surprisingly, adding alcohol doesn't kill the bubbles.. some nail techs add a gel clean up solution to their bubble mix, which is a mix of acetone and alcohol.
I've also found a thinner layer of gel polish top coat gives much crisper bubble definition, not sure if that translates to the uv resin but perhaps a variable you might like to test.
Bubbles are a great way to show off super fun chameleon powders :)
Awesome 😊
These are beautiful ❤️❤️❤️. Gotta try this!
👏👏👏👏👏👏👏
Thanks 😊😊
This is a must try. Lovely effect 😀
Have fun blowing bubbles Moira 😊 I did 😂
I’ve been meaning to try this myself, now I will! Thanks Daniel
Yay! It's great fun 😊😊
Sweet I've done similar colour shift mica is amazing but over priced some times
I’ve been failing at that scale method so maybe I’ll try this next! Thanks Daniel!
Very welcome 😊
Those turned out truly incredible!!!! Definitely going to try this. Thank you again!!
Thanks Terri 😊
It's so much fun doing the bubbles 😍 Great Video & result Daniel ❤️
Thanks Petra 😊
This is so cool 😎 I have done this method on tumblers but never never thought it would work on molds… You did so amazing 🤩
I love this technique! The first one resembled the moon when you first cured it (in my opinion) 😄. Please do more videos of this kind of project!
Thank you, I definitely will 😊
A whisker could be better so you get finer bubbles, and when they sit for a while they will clump together.
I didn't want to read through 120 comments to see if someone suggested it already, but if you can find something deep with a lid and just put a little bit in there, you can shake it up really well and get smaller bubbles and no water and can just scoop the bubbles off the top with your hand. If you like the bigger bubbles, still do the deep container with lid, just don't shake too hard or too much. It's totally fun! I just did this in a piece for my granddaughters mermaid and octopus.
Yep, had someone say about smaller bubbles, I'm definitely going to try 😊
Try using your hand to get smaller bubbles
I think I know a better solution for bubbles... If you take a travel bottle n you add some soapy water barely any and shake vigorously then squeeze them out the top I think it's fast (before bubbles pop) and gives many small ones. I think more is better when your trying to get more uneven area so chamaeleon chrome or pigments hit more areas of light causing multiple colors to shift. Hope this helps.
I love these. I tried a dark color rather than clear resin on the back to compliment the chameleon and it looked amazing!
Awesome, it has given me many great ideas Kris, keep tuned 😊😊
Super cool! Love the effects! Can’t wait to try! Love your sense of humor as well lol 💙
Thanks Karla, Have fun 😊
Love the results. Would it make a difference if you made the bubbles in a bigger tub, with a bit more room you will get some smaller bubbles as well.x
Possibly, it was my 1st try so will definitely keep going 😊😊
I've had a go at doing these and love the effects xx
So much fun aren't they 😊
@@daniel..cooper yes they are xx
Should have showed the other side! Would have been interesting to see what it looked like since you placed black mica down first. I have made many of these but never put mica on the bottom first so maybe it did not look so interestingt! To achieve a more natural effect make again with a very thin layer of 2 part resin and cure. Then put a layer of UV and the soap bubbles making sure you only get the bubbles and not any water (I think that's what happened with your 1st coaster)! Cure again and then put the chameleon colors on. Fill with 2 part resin that is colored black and cure. When unmolding the bottom becomes the top and the look of the bubbles is very smooth - not concave! FYI This 1st layer becomes the top of the coaster and makes it heat resistant so can be used as a functional coaster. Also adds an interesting depth to the coaster!
Hey, it was only my 1st attempt 😂 bear with me 😂 the other side would have just been black as was just resin and mica powder. I'm still learning the arts, I'm no professional, I followed instructions from a video I loved, I can now experiment from here 🥰
Incrível! Simples e um efeito belíssimo. Obrigada Daniel. Acabei de me inscrever no canal que você indicou pois amei o trabalho dela, assim como o seu. Parabéns.
You transferred water with the bubbles mate.
Plastic spoon may be better.
UV resin, you only need just enough to cover the surface, allowing the bubbles to adhere to it & dry rapidly!
Your UV lamp may not be strong enough to penetrate & dry both at the same time.
When adding more mica powders, if you give the mould a blast of easy release, it’ll help the powder lay thicker all over, just tap off excess before pouring flood coat.
Very cool effects, reminds me of the moon…..good idea to try on the Dachshunds I make, I have been using that technique where you drop the ink on top for feathering, which I don’t get the feathering effect, but I have to get creative with the dried ink side…looks horrid
If u want there to be a bigger difference when u add from 2 different jars... Use a solid sponge. Like the kind in the makeup section. If u want the pit to be different than the peaks. Doing it that way also uses less (in my opinion anyway)
Thanks Mandi, not sure what this means just yet but I'm sure I will learn soon 😊😊😊
@@daniel..cooper the coasters 😆😆😆 where u put 2 different colors in one of them
@@mandicoleman7433 ah, I get your now, sorry Mandi, my head is all over the place tonight 😂🤣
@@daniel..cooper mine always is lol
Do you think a clear uv layer overtop of the mica powder would work? I don’t have the patience to wait for two part resin to harden. I only make small items like pendants and keychains.
Love all your work!
It may ripple giving an uneven surface, I wouldn't risk it.
Just gorgeous! I am new to resin work. So, of course, I have questions. Why UV resin for this project? Can you use regular resin and get that effect? Thank you!
Hi, the bubbles will pop before regular resin can cure so must be UV for this one.
Ok. I did mine and it worked regarding the dimples in the bottom layer but after pouring the top coat, the dimples all disappeared. I did put some interference blue powder in the bottom layer while still wet so maybe that is where I went wrong. Maybe I didn’t cure the UV resin long enough. I cured it for 30 minutes or so.🤷🏻♂️
Will try again but at least this coaster looks sort of like a galaxy from the powder so not all lost.😎
Hi Daniel. Sorry if this has already been asked do you need to use UV RESIN as the layer you put your bubbles on or can you use the 2 mix. Thanks I can’t wait to try this and just went out and got baby lotion so many ideas for Christmas ornaments thanks so much for sharing your wonderful creative unique art
Has to be uv sadly as the bubbles would pop by time the epoxy cures 🥺
The effects are so awesome❤so, we can mix UV resin and 2 part resin 🤔🙏
Thanks, yes 😊 so long as the uv is fully cured 😊
@@daniel..cooper Thnxxxx🤗🙏
How would you get the inverse so the bubbles are convex looking rather than concave.
You would need to reverse it and do the UV layer 1st 😊 So then the bottom becomes the top. Maybe do a layer of clear before the bubble layer 😊
How do you find using resin in this heat as I’m finding mine is curing way too fast and ruining my work. Xxx
Mine is fine, just a little less work time 😊 Does me a favor as can demold quicker 😂
Can the 2 part resin mixed be used instead of the uv resin for this?
Sadly not, the bubbles will pop before the 2 part can cure 😔
Those turned out beautiful Daniel! When you went back in with the gold, it got me wondering what a second layer of UV with Marabu’s rainbow glitter alcohol ink mixed in and more bubbles would look like? Would the alcohol ink effect the bubbles? Now I’m very curious what would happen!😂 Resin “is like a box of chocolates, ya never know what you’re gonna get.”😆
Haha, so true! And thank you, I would imagine that the alcohol would pop those bubbles like crazy, but worth a crazy experiment! Try it on a small scale 😊😊
Think I read in the directions of the let's resin UV lamp not to use regular alcohol ink and things that are not UV rated
@@joallawestervelt6918 Thanks for that info. I hadn’t heard that before. I’ve only done UV projects a couple of times. The UV resin I bought when I first started working with 2 part epoxy has really strong fumes, it lingers on long after I’m through with it. Even with a floor fan on and the back door open. Since I don’t want to wear my mask for hours😅 I haven’t used it for awhile. A couple other channels I watch seemed to like JDiction UV so, I bought that but, haven’t tried it yet.
@@funo6581 I will have to re-read the instructions that came with the let's resin kit with the same UV lamp he used today. But fairly certain what I stated earlier. I will double check.
Ok I just reread the recommendations: do not use opaque or deep molds. The UV light needs to penetrate through the resin to cure properly.
Not all pigments work with UV resin. Need to use pigments that are specially for UV resin. Alcohol inks, opaque pigments are NOT recommended. If using black pigment, use only a tiny amount and cure in layers. Or pour a clear layer of UV resin and cure it first (on both sides), then add black UV resin on top and cure.
Also do not add too much pigments, glitters, mica powder or other fillings, it won't let enough UV light go through the UV resin to cure it properly.
NOT recommended to brush the mold with mica powder/chameleon powder before pouring UV resin. Pour a clear layer, cure, then brush powder on the surface and then pour another clear layer for coating.
To get rid of bubbles, prick with toothpick or silicone stick or heat up the UV resin with a heat gun.
These are a few of the basics that was provided in the UV starter kit. They are very basic for sure. I would probably Google if I needed more information. Regardless, I hope this helps. There are UV resin pigments as well as UV inks available for purchase.
Can you do this with regular resin and not UV resin?
The closest way would be to do a raindrop effect but won't be the same sadly 😔
Yeah, the more I thought about it, the more I realized the bubbles would fizzle out before the resin set. lol
@@daniel..cooper
i thought the trick was to dry the bubbles first, with lamp and then use a coloured Resin or use chameleon powder under the resin
Yep, I will try that way round next time 😊
Is it possible to have it without uv resine ?
Sadly not 😔
@@daniel..cooper thank you for the response:)
Did you cure it for 90 mins ! Or 99 seconds 3 times ???
Oops, did I say 90mins? Mine took 3mins in total.
Ohh thankyou so much as I was doubting myself-how am I going to hold my light for all that time. Fantastic method it turned out amazing 👍
Heading of to your shop 🙂😁🤣 it always Christmas/birthday when it come to resin pigments and inks and molds and ..... oh your bubble blowing....🤣🤣🤣🤣👍
😂😂😂
@@daniel..cooper 😉
I just pinned a comment, I can't believe I said 90mins 😂🤣 thanks for that 🥰
Your bubbles were too big. It works really well if you use smaller bubbles.
Love this effect!! Sherry molten has been doing it for a bit... I had to do it literally the day after I saw her do it !! It's so fun!!
Thanks Carroll, yes, was great fun 😀
