Thank you so much. As a single mom to an autistic 14 yo with no male role models, he needed a visual model to learn to use a shaver. I've learned to shave him and now he's learning to shave himself by watching your video. This has been a great resource, and I share it with other moms who need help, too.
Reading this (it says 9 years later) as a single mom to a sons with autism and I couldn’t agree more…. Using this to help my son.
It works so easily on his face! I've just started using an electric shaver and I have a lot to learn.
Nice guide! I have used my brand new 790cc two days in a row with no irritation and cuts just like a blade. Great product.
Thanks for the tutorial, I'm just starting to shave and this guide is pretty useful.
Thanks man. I'm getting into electric razors and this is exactly what I needed.
Thanks for the help. I'm completely new to this. Merry Christmas!
Very useful tutorial for beginners like me. Thanks.
I've been using a electric shaver ever since I started growing facial hair. Since I lost my dad kind of young no one really ever showed me I just wing it. Well my hair grows fast and I usually always have a beard. But I just seen a commercial for WAHL showing a electric shaver with a plastic guard attached (same as I use in differing sizes) and instead of going from the jawline up against the grain which kind of tugs on my hair the guy in the commercial was going downward with the grain. Idk unfortunately I have to shave today when you grow hair fast believe me it's definitely a chore especially trying to get everything leveled out. So have I been doing this wrong for years as it does tug on the hair sometimes? Thank you (this is a wahl all it one using the nonfoil attachment and plastic guard)
Great job with this video series, it is proving very useful as I consider switching to electric shaving. As I am use to shaving with a Gillette Fusion with shaving cream, I will probably opt for the Philips since it allows for wet shaving and leads to a smoother finish as stated by your videos and my fellow viewers. Yet, a part of me wishes to purchase the Braun for its legacy. I shall be mulling over this decision this weekend to ensure I make the right investment. Thank you.
I have a Remington Titanium shaver like ur black rotary but the heads are built inside like the 1st electric shave you use the foil one. but the 3 rotaries r inside. I've never used one only straight blades. I have thick beard any sugestion's when using one?
good one bro.. bought an aquatouch 890 recently (my 1st electric razor) and was worried about how my skin's response. This video was a relief. :)
Thank you for sharing I am new to electric razors I'm older and my skin is loose my hair is thick it seems so a regular shave is not as closely as I like it this first time I used a rotary same to do better than when I'm shaving so thank you very much for sharing your tips
Good info and thanks for posting this shaving tutorial video !!
I just purchased a Braun 3series for a start, its hard work for me, not very happy. But now that Ive watched your video, I willl try the right way that I just learnt from you and hope for a better result.
DO you find a closer shave with dry or wet shave? i.e. if we're talking about using the same shaver/trimmer ofcourse
I always shave with a blade and I used to that close shaving and I cut myself all the time and so I figured let me try electric I bought the brain series 797cc and I watched your video and it really didn't do much for me it wa smith very little and mostly rough especially when input pressure it was very rough you have any tips or why it doing that
As a former kid who had to teach himself to shave, I love your comment. Plus I stem so I love it on 2 levels.
Thanks man this video is really nice .
dude youre freaking bangin. thanks for the tutorial
Thanks for the advice and help considering that I'm 16 an I had my first shave be a dry one which came out quite nice... Anyways you just taught me that and with no father it really helped
Well Done .Excellent Demonstration
The ones with the metal guard with holes in them never seem to work for me. No matter the pressure I use it never takes anything off.
benblue3 The male shaving thing is extremely subjetive. For me, the classic disposable ones from Gillete works better than any electric shaver.
Songs Of Darkness I think it's because my hair is really coarse, so they don't fit through the holes or something. I like to just shave dry with a gillete, too.
For the foil shaver, after taking off the cap, can you rinse the internal blades under running water? Or only the cap?
nice tutorial .
Thanks dude, great video.
i shaved large portions of my arm trying to figure out how to use my razor
then i figured i should just youtube it.. haha
thanks!
Thanks!!! it was really helpful
So Tyler, for cleaning you can just use the automated system over and over and you don't need to open it up and clean it manually? It's one or the other right?
Thank for this excellent video. I have been using an electrical shaver for 4 years and thinking about getting a new model and wondering what to use for someone who is gets Folliculitis Barbae frequently. With this condition you cannot shave closely or too frequently as this would allow the bacteria in and the infection to set. My hair is fairly thick and is diffficult to cut and wondering what is the best model to use to give a good shave (not a close shave) to prevent an infection. Thanks
Good guide, I just bought an electric shaver and never used one before. Thanks.
Very helpful thanks!
I've just started using an electric shaver (Philips Aqua Touch) and it's much more comfortable to use. No irritation what so ever and none of the dreaded tug and pull that even the best and more expensive bladed razors tend to do.
So Tom, is it good to use something like Electric Shaver before I use my Braum?
Hey Tyler!
Your videos are very helpful!
I've been shaving with disposable blades for years (I have an old electric shaver which I rarely use), but my skin is very sensitive and it's starting to get really irritated shaving with disposable ones and I'm considering buying a high end model either Philips or Braun, the thing is, I'm still trying to decide between rotary or foil, my hair is really thick, any tips please?
Once again , thank you very much!
I have both those the braun and the norelco. The norelco 3d touch, I use a trimmer to trim down the beard. Then I put heat on my face. It still takes about 45 mins to shave and which leads to horrible skin irritation. Do you get a " Real clean shave," or is it just a little close with stubble?
Thanks for the video
i have a question, do i have to apply pressure for the rotary shaver?
Thanks for a great tutorial. Recently switched over to electric shavers, and I'm loving it.
great video good choice for guide
Great advice. Just used my new Phillips and my skin feels like sand paper! I will keep on haha
thanks mate... very useful...
Very helpful thanks !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They use it , here da nois but dnt cut nothing, is der a certain way , press , rotation or someth8ng so it can shave/ cut
Received my Braun 797cc today. after the first shave, my whole face is burning like fire. never happened with my 11 years old rotary shaver. am i doing something wrong?
could using a straight razor be causing the big red bumps under my jaw line?
Recently switched to braun after using norelco for years. It's the series 3 wet/dry shaver you reviewed. I've been reading online about how to care for the razor, but have read from people who complain about the razor's getting musty smell. Any advice on how to stop this from happening or how to get rid of it if it does happen to my braun wet/dry shaver?
Can you do a review about a foil shaver vs a rotary shaver, cuz i've heard that in some cases, like if you have a sensitiv skin, the foil shaver is more recommended that a rotary one.
thanks.
@ElectricShaverGuide thnx for the reply, i guess ill give it a couple more tries. is there any way i can make the irritation less?
great video... finally took the plunge and got an electric razor recently (philips at890 -- rotary) it's like I need to learn to shave again. whenever wet shaving I'd always get razor burn if I shaved against the grain, so I always shaved with the grain (especially on my neck, which is tough). With an electric razor, can you really go against the grain? I'm getting razor burn now, and I'm not sure if it's something my skin will get used to? I'll go back with the grain, just takes longer. thanks
I just got a new foil shaver from wahl and after my first use i got a lot of pimples on my chin. Is this normal or should stop using it? I used to shave with a blade and never had this problem before
I am new to electric razors and just shaved with one for the first time, and I was having a lot of trouble getting the chin line and under my chin, I eventually had to use a manual razor to get those. What am I doing wrong here? I have a Remington F5790
thanks, really helped :)
im thinking of buying one im just scared cause my uncle told me not to cause ill get that razor look face u know like when someones face looks like they shave what do you think? hope you understand what i mean lol
Hello, I just got an electric shaver to use for the first time, I really hate shaving and after years of using a manual shaver, I shave every 2 days because my skin irritates, so, how many times do you recomend to shave with the electric one? daily?
Thanks, man. I'm definitely buying an electric then.
I was about to shave for the first time using a rotary shaver, I am about to clean it first cause it's my brothers old shaver, I was wondering if it can cut me or is it impossible with a shaver? And I was also wondering cause I was going to do a dry shave... Do I need any kind of face lotion first or can I just shave?
hi , i got Lanel - stainless steel dual head foil ($30) can it work on facial hair approx. 5mm long?
i tried the way u told.. no benefit.
it has a pop up trimmer which can pop beyond the foil level - that too not working.
I just replaced my Panasonic wet dry foil with that exact Norelco shaver. The Norelco is much quiter and easy on the skin, but not as close. I still use the same shave cream and shave wet, but overall not as good results. I'm hoping it will get better or I may return and try the Braun. Any suggestions..? Thx!
does your skin get harmed it you use a electric shaver. like does it go slightly green. i am planning on buying a Phillips aqua
very useful video, thank you :D you're so cool!
Just got one for christmas and I have never used one before. Thanks!
Scott Riley same here lol always used a razor how you getting on I find it strange lol
you dont have to buy any razors or anything like that for the rotary right?
I've started using my philips razor again (rotary) and it's heating up really quickly (causing irritation). Is this a sign to chuck it and get a new one? Or is there another approach I could take?
Hey man I have a quick question. I got an electric shaver for christmas I asked for one because I hate using a regular razor because I seem to break out at work when I use a regular one but I have used my electric shaver twice and no matter how careful I am I get razor burn bad on my neck. What do you think im doing wrong?
excuse me ,i have got razor burn when used cheap panasonic shaver few years ago, many acnes in the skin, does it razor burn??=_=
i want to know do i increase amount of pressure cause it??because i read the panasonic operating instruction ,it said "you may increase the amount of pressure as you skin becomes accustomed to this shaver"
u still have to use aftershave afterwards?
I have Braun Sries 3 380s-4, but its tottaly bad for me I cant even shave full beard..dont know why
this is my 10 time watching this its that i dont get its that it really good good work
Hey great tut! One Q: im 17 now and I wanna start to style my beard could I use a basic razor to do this or do I need a electric razor? Thanks!
Between the two which one is better for Thick Beard.
can me and my father use the same machine ?
i decided to use a braun series 3 350cc. do i need to use a pre-shave creme and after the shave should i use an after-shave? thanks for the tips it really helped
how long does the skin "becomes accustomed to this shaver???"
or use the shaver go for a certain area few times will cause skin irration or razor burn??
or the stainless steel irritated my skin??

I'm 15 and currently use a Braun Wet and Dry series electric shaver. I've noticed that after shaving, there are a few hairs which haven't been picked up as I go along. Any help?
I'm 16 years old and i basically trim but it looks like i shaved with clipper but, every time i do it i get pimples after i shave. what should i do?? Also i was wondering if i should buy an electric shaver and shave dry or wet??
question: im 15 and my mom already bought me an electric shaver. i have not shaved yet, so should i use the electric shaver or a regular blade?
When using the shaver with 3 heads, is it okay to go over your lips a little bit you get the mustache area? Or how does that work
Hey whats the best shaver for a 14 yr old kid that hasnt shaved yet ? should i get electric or straight razor? please reply soon
Do u recommend an electric shaver or a razor and cream or gel
Great vid. Do you know if it's possible to use the Braun 7 in the shower ?
I understand the mechanical and physical difference between the rotary and foil shavers, but what's the difference when it comes down to the hair and skin it's self? Will one last longer, be more effective, or are they very similar?
does all electric shavers cut the hair completely? sometimes i dont want that i want keep a tiny bit facial hair
Can u get razor bumps with from the rotary shaver?
I got a skin irritation the first time I used mine (rotary, Sinbo) and I kinda panicked, but thanks for clearing that out. :) Good tutorial, mate.
I have always used standard razors (or whatever they are called in English).
Way too expensive, so I thought getting my hands on an electric shaver instead. Very helpful, I must say.
I have a question, though. In your opinion, which tool is faster for shaving?
what's the difference between rotary and foil, are there any advantages to either?
Okay thanks for the advice
Do you recommend Braun Cruzer4? I like my beard 4-5 days old look, so will the trimmer on that Braun do the job? (can only get that model) Thanks
I was gifted a Montgomery ward shaver and it just doesn't seem to work.or is it my face?
thank you so, so, so, much.
for your first example, it always ends up cutting me some how. I've tried new razors and even replaced a few razors heads. any tips or info on why its happening?
Pushing it too hard? Might also be the brand of shaver you're using
Eden tification yep actually my problem was fixed when i brought a new (and better) razor. now im silky smooth ahaha
Nice. Yeah you get what you pay for with these things.
Same here, went from an old 3 series up to a 7 series and the irritation is completely gone.
Can you make video tutorial explaining how to shave your neck with a rotary type shaver? Every time. Shave my neck, I always end up missing some hairs below my jaws and a few spots on my neck.
Gents, I've been using the Philips Norelco 3D and am getting a close shave. However, I can't figure out how to trim my sideburn edge with the rotary shaver? I have used the Braun foil and it had a straight edge which helped. With the Philips Norelco 3D rotary, I can't tell where the blade is touching the sideburn edge and end up without a straight edge. Several times, I've ruined the straight edge by bringing the shaver too high and now the sideburn edge is like a curve with the middle part cut out! I use the built-in sideburn trimmer, but it does not shave clean. What am I doing wrong? Any tips?
some come with a trimer built into the electric one. My remington comes with with a trimmer built on top of the handle check and see if yours has same thing
I found that shaving after a shower to soften the hair and using lectric shave plus a nivea aftershave lotion gives me the best performance from my electric razor (cheap $40 norelco 720)
My husband really dislikes shaving so I'm planing on getting him an electric shaver to ease the process. Now, he usually doesn't shave too often. He doesn't have a super thick beard but after a while it gets quite long. My question is, can you shave a week long beard with an electric shaver? should I get a trimmer instead? or both?
@ElectricShaverGuide I'm talking about the Series 7. Look it up in the manual.
what do you think about straight razor shaving?
very helpful and you are really handsome
I have really thick coarse facial hair. When I use an electric razor, my neck gets red and irritated. Any tips?
With a electric razor Will a wet shave get closer?
Nice vid! Which one, out of the two, do you prefer? Also, what do you think is better, pre electric shave or shaving cream?
