Imagine, that Acheron is truly Mei, and when the teased part where Acheron goes on a little journey with Welt, she would tell Welt about what happened back at their home world being destroyed because of Kiana's disappearance. Mind you time works differently in every universe or mayhe bubble universe, we dont know that while Welt is going to different areas m, Jarilo, Loufu, Penacony, etc. massive Time skip happens back in his World Acheron might be the path that APHO Mei took to look for Kiana... since she's been waiting for quite a while.
The current HI3 part 2 story right now is about Mars Expedition, which is 5 years time skip after the final battle and we see Kiana meet Senadina. Based on that we can clearly see even after all that, Mei and Bronya can still easily come to the moon to meet Kiana. So, if Kiana is still on the moon in APHO, they can easily visit Kiana anytime. But, in APHO, Mei keeps talking as if she is waiting for someone to come back. Many people speculate that this person is Kiana. So, what if Kiana left earth to some other planet or explore the universe after the 5 years time skip Mars Expedition? What if she become an Aeon? Is that not the real reason why honkai energy is so low in APHO? Acheron being Mei will only makes sense if Mei chases after Kiana since HSR is way past APHO, although we don't know how much time has passed in HSR. Worst case explanation if this theory is true, earth is destroyed some time after APHO and Mei is a survivor, leaving earth to go on a journey.
There is no official time difference from the current HI3 to APHO... But I'm sure it's like 10 or 20 years time skip or more cuz APHO Mei doesn't have traces of Herrscher of Origin power anymore... Due to spending SOOO much time on using Finality powers, and sealing Honkai... She might've been recognized as the new Aeon of Finality. As for Mei=Acheron... Yep, Acheron could be APHO Mei, the path that she took when she tries to look for Kiana. Once she will meet Welt... If she talks about Welt's world and something had happened back there from all Time skipping skit of Welt with the Nameless Train... Yeah, I'd confirm that, that would be indeed APHO Mei.
@@kalWuWa My bad, just checked it in game for a bit. The final battle on the moon is around the end of 2017 or early 2018 in game based on Sora's comment 6 month later in chapter 36 part 1.5. Helia and Coralie story, which is right now, is set in 2023. So, the current part 2 story is 5 years later. But, my bad, APHO is stated in 2025 in game so it's not 10 years later, but 8 years-ish later. But still, we need more confirmation from the story and how long time has passed since APHO as well.

The whole point of her herrscher ascension is to stop the will of finality third, how would mei end up on a different planet and another alter ego (since HoT left already)
Honestly, if Acheron was THAT Raiden Mei, it would be a really bad narrative choice. Mei has already grown up, has already fought her past and had already decided that even in the possibility of losing Kiana she would move forward without her. Mei is good by nature, she wouldn't suddenly become such a ruthless killer, and then... Acheron seems to me to have the personality of Mei post cap 17 but much sadder, if the real Mei were to go back to being like that it would mean doing something to her narrative evolution identical to the one made in chapter 17. It wouldn't make any sense.

People forget that in the Imaginary Tree exist infinite universes with differents timelines, so this "Mei" could be one of them. So everything is connected, and I hope to remind you that HSR also serves to understand one of the Sky People's plans, the reason why Welt traveled alongside Void from the original HI3 line (They still don't talk about it but they will implement it in future updates).
