So true Keith, US modelers just don’t have access to some of the best finishing materials and supplies. The Goodsmile diorama is my gold prize of the trip 👍 thanks for watching and supporting the channel.
On my last trip, i managed to stuff 5 model kits into 2 boxes. Cut off the larger pieces off the sprues, so they take up less space. You can flat pack the boxes if you want to keep them. Buy sealable bags from Daiso to keep the smaller parts together. This is how i brought a Mega Size Gundam back to the UK.
That’s good thinking MB, I should have done the same. I ended up with 5 kits and lots of supplies in my luggage. Thanks for watching and I appreciate your support 👍
Hi Michael! I mail order most of my kits out of Japan but it was cool to pick up some things right off the shelf. I appreciate your support of the channel bud, thanks!
@@ScaleModelExperiment I’m sure buying them off the shelf was a great experience, and you were able to get some supplies you can’t get through the mail.
Awesome Video!!!!!! I would LOVE to go to a Hobby Store over there!!!!! Nice supply and stash adds. Anything Tamiya is Great!!!! Looking forward to the Tamiya store video. Thanks for sharing James!!!! I'll be watching
Nice have you have there always fun to go to a hobby shop in Japan you for sure will see lots of stuff that never will make it to the US plus way better prices there too I am sure this will not be your only visit to a hobby shop enjoy your vacation would love to go back again myself thanks for the look around James
Thanks David, I visited 6 different hobby shops in Akihabara but this one was the best even though it’s really an electronics store. They had the best selection and low prices.
Thanks Kevin, I do consider myself fortunate to be able to visit Japan and have the time and spare yen to visit cool hobby shops. I feel like we as US modelers we are at a disadvantage materials and supplies wise. The putties and glues I bought should help my game! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel bud👍
Wow! Hobbylinc store in Japan have an extensive variety of model cars and color paint. Is so awesome you have the opportunity to to get model cars you can’t find in America.
Hey James... Hope you're having a nice vacation? Looks like it? It's also looking like you'll have some cool supplies to bring home? NICE! Well until next time, have fun & stay safe... See you in the next video!
OMG, what a selection! You never see that much at shops here in the US. I really like that Tamiya Polyester putty. It is hard to get, though. Don't know why it's not officially imported. The only issue is they don't give you enough of the hardener for some reason. It always runs out before the putty does
Hi David, thanks for watching. I may grab another bottle of hardener then when I visit the Tamiya store. Thanks for the tip. I’ve seen other YT’ers use it and I’m dying to try it.
so much cool stuff you don't see here! I don't get that excited seeing the stuff here anymore. I may have to start ordering online from japan. I remember visiting my grandparents in Berlin Germany and having to buy a large chest to bring back my model kit haul! lol. Thanks for sharing your trip and model adventure.
Yodobashi Camera is one of my favourite stores in Japan. Huge model kit section and the prices are really good. TamTam hobby (also in Akihabara) is also worth a visit.
Wow, what an awesome selection to buy from there James! Another shop on my visit list if I manage to visit Japan someday! Nice purchases there, especially that JACCS Civic. You know I'm a JACCS fan! Most of the other stuff, I never heard about but they look pretty handy and useful. Thanks for the share.
Hey Karl, I really had a good time at the hobby store. It was hard to pick just a couple things from all they had to choose from. I suppose that I need to get the Nunu Civic to complete the bunch now😎. I’ll do video reviews on the supplies in the future. Thanks for watching my friend!
@@ScaleModelExperiment I'm sure you had a great time over there, so much to see and buy! Hi Thomas, I use HLJ and Hobby Easy to buy my foreign kits. The pricing is good but you really have to pay for shipping costs. Supplies though I can’t get so that’s why I bought so much of that here. Plus baggage space is at a premium… thanks for watching and supporting the channel👍
I was surprised to see some American kits there, my local hobby store here in Chiang Mai Thailand only has Japanese kits, but they do have full lines of Tamiya and Mr Hobby paints
I was surprised to see American kits there as well. I didn’t bother looking at the prices. I’m sure they were absurd… I appreciate you watching and commenting 👍
My last trip to Tokyo for work Inever made it to that area but I went to OTA and Yokohama and stayed in Machida no one had a Nissan 180SX model. I want to make a replica of my car back in Australia as I love in Malaysia for work I miss it so nice to have it to look at.
