    On my last trip, i managed to stuff 5 model kits into 2 boxes. Cut off the larger pieces off the sprues, so they take up less space. You can flat pack the boxes if you want to keep them. Buy sealable bags from Daiso to keep the smaller parts together. This is how i brought a Mega Size Gundam back to the UK.

    Nice have you have there always fun to go to a hobby shop in Japan you for sure will see lots of stuff that never will make it to the US plus way better prices there too I am sure this will not be your only visit to a hobby shop enjoy your vacation would love to go back again myself thanks for the look around James

      Thanks David, I visited 6 different hobby shops in Akihabara but this one was the best even though it’s really an electronics store. They had the best selection and low prices.

      Thanks Kevin, I do consider myself fortunate to be able to visit Japan and have the time and spare yen to visit cool hobby shops. I feel like we as US modelers we are at a disadvantage materials and supplies wise. The putties and glues I bought should help my game! Thanks for watching and supporting the channel bud👍

    Wow! Hobbylinc store in Japan have an extensive variety of model cars and color paint. Is so awesome you have the opportunity to to get model cars you can’t find in America.

    OMG, what a selection! You never see that much at shops here in the US. I really like that Tamiya Polyester putty. It is hard to get, though. Don't know why it's not officially imported. The only issue is they don't give you enough of the hardener for some reason. It always runs out before the putty does

    so much cool stuff you don't see here! I don't get that excited seeing the stuff here anymore. I may have to start ordering online from japan. I remember visiting my grandparents in Berlin Germany and having to buy a large chest to bring back my model kit haul! lol. Thanks for sharing your trip and model adventure.

    Yodobashi Camera is one of my favourite stores in Japan. Huge model kit section and the prices are really good. TamTam hobby (also in Akihabara) is also worth a visit.

    That Gaia chrome paint is really nice,it's also 30.00 bucks a bottle in the US. So you got a good deal.

    Wow, what an awesome selection to buy from there James! Another shop on my visit list if I manage to visit Japan someday! Nice purchases there, especially that JACCS Civic. You know I'm a JACCS fan! Most of the other stuff, I never heard about but they look pretty handy and useful. Thanks for the share.

    Great haul! I was going to ask about GoodSmile and then saw the end of your haul. I can’t find any of those displays here in the US and now I know why. I’ll still keep hunting hoping one day to find one for sale in the US on EBay or through Hobby Linc

    very nice stuff and civics I'm Honda guy at heart and I seen so many cool kits I wish I could pop over to Japan for the jdm kits and to usa for the kits you guys get from round 2 they just braught out supra in usa round 2 with engine i know tamiya should have engine but fujimi and aoshima mk2 mk3 supra are curbside except like one i seen on ROUND2 this month maybe ill find one in future like iv been starting to get alot old revelle and foose kits in my local also I'll get 400z over here min it's out Ireland gets what Japan brings out new you got very nice stuff and glues for clears puttys too liguid stuff good and the green white 2 part epoxy goes like a stone so it's great for fenders and sands fine too enjoy your stuff james I'll be watching 👍Keith

    Great haul James 👍the one thing I definitely would buy is the Gaianotes clear coat. Several bottles in fact, I’ve seen so many beautiful finishes with that clear…wish there was a European distributor for it..

    Wow cars I've never seen LOL there is a Hobbylinc Japan but I've not ordered from them I in the mid United States and its seems a little out of my price range the and not to mention I don't understand conversion rates LOL. Thanks for sharing very cool. 🙂Thomas over at The Model Hobbyist

      Hi Thomas, I use HLJ and Hobby Easy to buy my foreign kits. The pricing is good but you really have to pay for shipping costs. Supplies though I can’t get so that’s why I bought so much of that here. Plus baggage space is at a premium… thanks for watching and supporting the channel👍

    I was surprised to see some American kits there, my local hobby store here in Chiang Mai Thailand only has Japanese kits, but they do have full lines of Tamiya and Mr Hobby paints

    My last trip to Tokyo for work Inever made it to that area but I went to OTA and Yokohama and stayed in Machida no one had a Nissan 180SX model. I want to make a replica of my car back in Australia as I love in Malaysia for work I miss it so nice to have it to look at.

      @@ScaleModelExperiment I'm Australian so very familiar with the Silvia and all Nissan cars. They both have the S13 chassis but not the same body. Tamiya does make a 180SX but its a bit hard to find. Then, I need to find some Work Meister S1 rims to complete my real life car as a model.

      @@ScaleModelExperiment no I don't but I will look for it but my ultimate 180SX is the Tamiya OG 24088 or the 89727 the 1989 version I have and I brought it in 2000 so really want a 1/24 scale version.

    Is their quality and brands way different and higher end as in are they trying to reach out to us? And for my 1/10 scale rc drift cars do you recommend anything from hobby lobby or Michael's? Joan's? OR stick with product from my main hobby store /track? And my local hobby town? I'm in Texas btw austin

    I'm visiting Japan in 2024 and it's my intention to find a "life size" kit for a Kaiju, or UltraMan or Speed Racer. I am ashamed to admit I don't even know what Gundam is but that's some kind of mecha show, right? I'm 49.

      This video was Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara. I believe it was the 5th floor? Same floor as toys and video games. Have a blast!

    They don't like American cars much. Would like to see them make them and not charge a fortune. There Toyotas etc. Are reasonable.

      In Japan they like Japanese models of cars they recognize. I agree that the Japanese model companies would make stellar American car kits. But it probably won’t happen.

      The store is Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara right next to the train station. I think it was the 5th floor but not sure. Toys and video games are on the same floor.
