I love how George always had Louise's back. He meant a good and wonderful thing by bringing Louise's sister there not knowing Louise would be displeased. As soon as he heard the story he immediately supported her. He always did this, whenever anyone insulted Louise he supported her. He was a great husband.
this was such a good show. i feel lucky to have grown up with shows like this and "all in the family" "sanford and son" "M*A*S*H", "mary tyler moore"......etc........tv is so bad today that i haven't had cable in over 5 yrs.
She also did an episode of the Cosby Show. She played a singer. Cliff's father was having a reunion with an old band he use to perform with. She sang with the band and Cliff's mother couldn't stand her.

He was. He brought Maxine to surprise Louise, not knowing the truth. Or at least the truth as far as Louise knew it. When Louise explained everything, he was ready to kick her out of their lives. But when Jason appeared and said that Maxine was his mother, all their perceptions on the truth were shattered.
No it isn't. I have first cousins I haven't seen in almost 25 years. And one of them lives only a mile from me. Well, I DID see them ONCE. At a funeral many years ago. But they didn't speak to me.
The actor who played Maxine's son Jason also appeared in an episode of "Good Times" as the husband of this gal who JJ was dating that was stressing him out so much until it was causing him to have ulcers because of her refusal to commit to their relationship.
@@Sunshine134chickI have to hand to Maxine: she told Louise the truth about why she ran away from home before Louise could go off on her. I feel that those like Maxine should be given a chance to explain before going off them. In other words, tell the truth.
@@wonderwoman5732 Louise deserved to go off on Maxine. She had a lot of resentment, and until that moment, it was more than justified. However, when she learned the truth, I think Louise's temper went from boiling to simmering. She still has a lot of resentment towards her sister, but the door to reconciliation has been opened by Maxine, and Louise stepped through. Still think this was a situation that could have been avoided long ago if Maxine had told the truth and not leave in the first place. Hey, you cut out a segment. After Louise asked why Maxine didn't at least tell her, Maxine explained that as the elder sister, she was the one who was supposed to be responsible. To set the example for Louise to follow. And what did she do? She got herself pregnant. Part of me wanted the others to be there to witness the drama, but then this was a private matter between family members.

It always bothered me that in this episode, Louise supposedly hasnt seen her sister in 30 years, but in All In The Family its said that she lived with them on Hauser street. I know The Jeffersons and All In The Family don't align perfectly and likely take place in similar but alternate universes, but its a sloppy mistake.

I love Louise’s outfit
*I remember the actress who portrayed Louise’s sister was also Dwayne & Whitley’s landlord on the final season of A Different World.*
Yes she was so funny on A Different World

It really ended up being a really emotional scene. I suspect that even George was speechless.

30 years before you meet your nephew is wild 😩😩😩😩
